Knight & Day Bombing Big At Box Office - Tom Cruise Tries Donald Duck Impression

With even worse than expected box office numbers on Wednesday and Thursday, Tom Cruise is in a do anything possible to get people to go mode and last night on Jay Leno even pulled out a Donald Duck impression to try and make him more approachable to people and to get them to go see Knight & Day which will probably turn out to be the biggest flop of his career.

  2. I think the stupid title might be part of the reason for the floppiness. Is that supposed to be clever? Hasn't that pun been done like 2,426 times already?

  3. Poor Cameron Diaz. She had to deal with this loon for months, and another stinker at the BO for her.

  4. To be honest, I think it looks like a cute movie and have laughed at the previews but I just can't get behind anything he does.

  6. I really like Tom Cruise. I can't help it. I'm slightly in love with his Scientologist crazy ass, and I've read all the blinds & more :p

  7. As horrified as I am to admit this, but I'm with Tigerjen. This would be a movie I'd go to because of the trailers (I know, I know, shame, shame), but I just can't bring myself to support this guy.

  8. I think all anyone wants from Tom now is to do the Les Grossman shtick.

This has got to be killing is super ego on the epic fails of the last 3 or 4 movies.

At this point, Suri can open a movie bigger.

  9. The only movies I've liked him in was Far & Away and Legends.

  10. Has anyone that posts here seen it? My husband really wants to go see it. I want to be forewarned if it stinks. I think the previews look ok, too.

  11. I'm in the same boat as Tigerjen and Bon. I think the trailers look appealing, and it would probably be a movie I'd check out if it had nearly anyone else but Tom Cruise in it.

  12. When are the studios going to learn that Tom Cruise needs to be permanently retired? His personal life is so creepy that it overshadows any movie his overrated ass "acts" in.

  13. I'm sure they were hoping that Cameron would make the movie more popular and then TC could take the credit and say "I'm back".

  14. This is excellent news! Great! I'm so fed up with this bozo!

  15. This isn't even on my long list to see. I don't really care for Tom because of all his craziness. Tom and Cameron together don't do it for me.

  16. I haven't seen the movie (and doubt I will), but I'd assume the demographic is a slightly older, working crowd vs teenagers. How many of us see movies on Wednesdays or Thursdays? I'm strictly weekend.

  17. I'm with Tigerjen, Bon and KellyLynn!

  18. it must kill him to know he's no longer a hot commodity. and he did it all to himself with his big fat mouth---the couch fiasco, and matt lauer. i think a lot of people completely lost whatever 'thing' they ever had for him then.

now i see MI4 is probably a no go since this movie is doing so badly. i can't feel sorry for him. he's a creep.

had your day, tom. now it's over.

  19. Tom Cruise is a movie star but he's lost a noticeable portion of his fan base. He needs a new gimmick because clearly Katie nor Suri are helping him fill theater seats. He needs something that will bring back the 40+ crowd or a new gimmick that will attract young adults.

Personally as a former fan I've stubbornly decided not to pay for any of his movies.

  20. I have to say I'm glad to hear that movie is bombing - it looks terrible, and I need a bad movie to fail every once in a while to restore my faith in humanity.

I also do my best not to support Scientologists, since they give a lot of money to the "church".

Look, Cruise could recapture his mojo, but he has to be willing to let go a bit and not act like he's Mr. Top Gun. His ego is too huge to allow him to take some supporting roles in ensemble indie pictures to make himself more appealing to ADULTS. Young adults don't want him - and he needs to be ok with that. He's not a bad actor, but he's too insecure to take a flyer on a well written small picture where he is not TOM CRUISE.

I do think it's over for him.

Hmmm, what could Tom Cruise do to revive his anemic career?...Oh, I know: stop promoting his lunatic cult and get a real life.
He is an zealot and an idiot; a scary combination. The public's right to turn its back on him!
And maybe I did think he was great back in the day (A Few Good Men, Rain Man) but I would NEVER consider spending a dime to support anything he does, knowing what I know about him now.

  22. Yeah I don't really care what the critics say...I want to hear from some real people before I decide. I thought the trailers looked pretty good. I kind of feel bad for him, even if it is his fault.

  23. Part of me feels sorry for Tom Cruise, only because he's a homosexual trapped in the closet.

Then I remember that he's in the closet only because he wants to be in the closet, and I lose all sympathy for the fudgepacking spermbreathed moron.

  24. And he badly needs a nosejob because his nose is too fucking big.
