I know Ascot happens every year in England but what is it besides a celebration of hats? Does anyone know? I am curious.

Hat, headpiece, fascinator... whatever you call it, some of those things the "ladies" are wearing on their heads are hideous. Eugenie's hat looks one step removed from a propeller cap, lol. Or the alien on the Quisp cereal boxes.
