Four For Friday

#1 & #2 - This former B list comedy actor and now a C on a good day was at a party with some actresses from a foreign country. He went up to one and started giving her a line about how he could help her career and basically hitting on her nonstop. The actress, a B+ television star in England told our actor that if he was her best hope for breaking into America that she would quit the business. She also told him how much she made the year before which is about four times what our loser actor earned.

#1 - actor
#2 - actress ( I know it is hard. She did do the show that everyone in England does)

#3 & #4 - This almost almost former A lister on television from a very hit show who is now just a very tall C list television and movie actress got really drunk a few weeks ago and destroyed her agent's house. Surprisingly though, even though she has not worked much, caused about $20K in damage in the house he did not drop her as a client. Could be because she is sleeping with his married boss.

#3 - actress
#4 - television show

  1. My first thought for #1 was Rob Schneider. No idea on the rest.

  2. I think Kelly Brook is the actress for number 1. She's in the US promoting Piranha.

    clueless on everything else.

    ReplyDelete
  3. 3. Kristen Johnson
    4. Third Rock from the Sun

    ReplyDelete
  4. 3. Michelle Trachtenberg
    4. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  5. Dane Cook and Michelle Ryan? She did Eastenders and Kelly Brook hadn't been in any tv soaps, which I imagine what Enty meant by the show everyone has been in.

  6. For the show everyone has been in - he just said last week that all british actors appear to have been in East Enders or Coronation Street (to through some more possible actresses in there).

  7. Not Kristen Johnston!!! I love her!

Other really tall actress from a hit show: Laura Prepon. But I like her too.

It's got to be some other giraffe.

  8. Michelle T isn't that tall is she?

    ReplyDelete
  9. When I think tall, I think Allison Janney. And she won a crap ton of Emmys for West Wing.

But I don't want it to be her. Pleeeeeease don't be Allison Janney!

  10. 2) Shilpa Shetty from India who won Big Brother.

    ReplyDelete
  11. #3 - Lisa Kudrow
    #4 - Friends?

Otherwise I really like the Kristen Johnson guess.

  12. I thought of Kristen Johnson too. She's 6'1" and there was a rumor a long time ago about her having a drinking problem. I don't think she's been working much lately.

  13. Was Shilpa Shetty was on EE or Coronation Street?

I like the Michelle Ryan guess.

  14. No idea on #1 and #2 but think Jenna Elfman is #3 which would make Dharma and Greg #4.

  15. I really like Kristen Johnson, too, but all the clues for #3 and 4 really fit her.

  16. 1. David Spade
    3. Kristen Johnston, I agree it's a great choice

    ReplyDelete
  17. Shegundala-- Great Guess!

    ReplyDelete
  18. 1. David Spade

    2. Gemma Atkinson. She's done Hollyoaks; I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here and a bunch of other reality shows. She hasn't really broke over here (and I don't know why, either). And she's got that friendly & approachable girl-next-door look to her, so I can see Spade trying to swing for a homerun with her.

    3. *sighs* I don't want it to be Kristen Johnson...or Allison Janney....but I'm leaning towards Kristen. I doubt it's Laura Prepon...since she's B++ at best. And it's DEFINITELY not Karen Gillan. If it was, I'd die. Literally.

  19. I missed the tall clue.
    It's not Michelle T.

  20. 2 sounds like Stephanie Beacham. On Coronation Street, and Bad Girls (huge show in the UK). Both shows have lots of cameos from anyone who is everyone in the UK. She was also on Celebrity Big Brother UK this past season and no doubt got paid quite nicely for it, not to mention any residuals she gets from her Dynasty days. She isn't hurting for money so I suspect she would quickly put some C list comedian in his place quite quickly.

Doubt 3 is Jenna Elfman. Isn't she a Scientologist? They don't drink do they?

  21. My first guesses were the same as @jess. I don't want it to be Kristen, either, but she's the only one I know of that would fit this.

David Spade has dated what some would consider 'hot women' here in the US and perhaps got overconfident.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Wasn't Stephanie Beacham on Dynasty or one of the scary glam nighttime soaps from the 80s? If she wanted to become a star here, I'd think she would have made her attempt coming off that show (while she was in her prime)

  23. I thought either Anna Friel (Brookside) or Lucy Davis (The Office) for the English actress?

Kelly Brook is a really good guess, but she is more famous over here for modelling, dating famous men and TV presenting. But hey, if she's doing well in the States, well done to her.

My first thought for the reference "the show that everyone in England does" was The Bill :-))

  24. enty please reveal #1&2. it's hilarious and i'd like to know the actress i now need to become a fan of. oh to be a fly on the wall.

sadly #3 sounds like kristen- i know she has major drinking problems (well, had anyway) but what show is she on currently?

  25. I love the first blind. I hope it's David Spade. He is an ass. And he looks like an ugly bum. No idea who the British actress is but I love her response!

As for the tall actress - Michele Tractenberg - she is reported to be 5'6" - not that tall. Kristen Stewart from Third Rock From The Sun is at least 5"11". I remember her at an awards event in a yellow gown - she towered over everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  26. 1, David Spade
3, Rebecca Romijn. She is 5'11 which is quite tall for an actress and almost A list with the X-Men trilogy.
    4, Ugly Betty.

  27. The first person that came to mind for #1 was Zach Braff. Not sure about #2.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anna Friel and good guess - she was on Coronation Street and Brookside, and definitely breaking into the US market.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I don't know any of these Brit actresses. I DO know of Anna Friel from Pushing Daisies. Loved that show!

  30. How in the HELL do you do 20 thousand dollars worth of damage to a house all by yourself?
    That's my question.

    ReplyDelete
  31. LioX Film Club, I agree, it has to be something like The Bill, Holby City, Casualty, Poirot or Marple that the actress has been in, not necessarily soaps.

I love her response though. That's one class response.

  32. I am terrible at figuring these out

    #1 - No idea
#2 - Awww, why can't you reveal her name, Enty?

#3 - for the Kristen Stewart guess, isn't Stewart gay? Although of course the married boss could be a female...

    #4 - No idea

  33. @Ol Cranky Stephanie did do quite a bit of work over here after Dynasty (Sister Kate got her an Emmy nom) and few movies, but most of her recent work has been over in England. On Celeb Big Brother she stated she wanted to revive her career Stateside and get another series role. Whoever the blind is about, it is someone seasoned enough not to fall for a typical "I can help your career if you sleep with me" line, and also has enough money to put them in their place. Stephanie Beacham is the only person I can think of who fits the desciptors of the blind.

  34. Anybody think Billie Piper from the first few seasons of Dr. Who is a fit for the British actress? Every actor in England has turned up on the new version of Dr. Who at some point or another, it seems. And she left the series to try to have a big career, did some stuff in the UK, and by all accounts is desperate for a breakthrough here. Problem is, she can't lose her horrible accent to save her fucking life. So she WOULD need help to break through here.

(And when I say horrid accent, I mean she has one of those really thick Cockneys where you sound like your mouth is full of marbles and you mutter and can't be understood at ALL!)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Argh, just realized that I wrote Kristen Stewart when I was thinking Kristen Johnson (from 3rd Rock).

    Isn't Johnson out?

  39. @Felicia - Billie's accent isn't Cockney, she has quite a posh accent in real life ;)

  40. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=705brgOy6LU -- Once the interviewer lets her speak, you can hear her accent. I agree, it's not Cockney, and it's possible to understand her with my American ears. She's quite cute, too.

  41. Re #2 - I can't get on board with the Stephanie Beacham guess simply because of the age factor; she's in her 60's, and I can't imagine a Spade or Schnieder hitting on someone that age no matter how good they look. I suspect this is a 20-30 something (though I don't have any good guesses.)
I'm on board with Kristin Johnson for #3 - she doesn't seem to have worked much at all since 3rd Rock left the air (unlike her costars Lithgow and Gordon-Leavit).

    ReplyDelete
  42. I agree with Kristen Johnson (not Kristen Stewart as some have said--she's not that tall and not a TV actress) from 3rd Rock. Very tall--at least 6 feet--also a very deep voice. Maybe it's just that way, but it seems like women with voices like that are either heavy smokers and/or drinkers. I wish the best for her. I don't think it's Rebecca Romijin from Ugly Betty--I think of her as more B list than C and never A list for TV. Plus, she has twin girls and Jerry O'Connell as a spouse. They seem pretty happy together.

#1, 2 is hard. I don't know what show in England everyone does.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Maybe Martine McCutcheon for the English actress?

    ReplyDelete
  44. There are a couple of former EastEnders actresses trying their luck in Hollywood, but the show that, in the UK, they joke that everyone does is 'The Bill'.
