Is Paranormal Activity 2 Trailer Too Scary?

The Cinemark movie chain has stopped showing the trailer for Paranormal Activity 2 because of complaints it has received that it is too scary. The trailer had been showing prior to the screenings of Eclipse so to have it pulled kind of sucks. On the other hand, it has only been pulled from a few locations so far, so maybe this is all just a big publicity stunt.Have you ever heard of a trailer being pulled because it is too scary? This could be used in ads and marketing. What is a few theatres compared to the publicity that a scary movie is actually scary. I looked at the trailer and don't see what the people saw. Of course it could have been a bunch of 8 year old kids who were there to see Eclipse at midnight and it blew their minds.

  1. GAH!!! I just peed my pants!!! Or not. I can't decide which is more likely - pr stunt or the 8 year olds. I can see how it could be really scary if you're young enough to have never seen a horror movie before.

  2. It scared me but I'm a huge baby and when you bring babies into it I get a little more freaked out. I didn't watch the first one btw.

  3. It's either a publicity stunt or the twihards really ARE pussies.

    Tough choice. {:o/

  4. LOL Captain Angrypants... Although I have to admit, I have no desire to see a baby in a room at night with some sort of ghost. Not cool.

  5. Its a stunt. I'd saying seeing the people in twilight trying to to act was scarier than this was.

  7. Yeah and seeing grown women get wet over the acting on screen is even more frightening.

  9. Loved the first one and LOVED the trailer for the second! But then, I LOVE scary movies. I think it's a stunt, given that the first one had a huge stunt to introduce it to audiences.

  11. I haven't seen the first one, but it's on my list...

  12. I do think the twilight crowd is the wrong demographic, but maybe that was their aim. What better marketing for a horror movie could there be than to get an actual news sstory claiming that e en the trailer is too scary?

I saw the first PA and it did have some parts where I jump. But as I kept watching it than I realize it was not real like they were saying it was. This one is probably the same.

Also I saw Eclipse last night it was not scary at all. It did have some parts where you might jump because they use that all of a sudden scene but that's it. I found the movie boring and it dragged big time.

  14. Not scary to me. If it was dark right now though then it would be!

  15. That was scary? Seriously? The only part that was even mildly disturbing was the baby standing up in its crib and the dog barking at an unseen entity, but that's only because I love babies. At least its got a canine protector (just like Bella mwahahahaha). ;-)

If this posts twice, sorry. My connection is having issues, I think?

  16. now, as a lady who loves scary movies (especially ones that aren't gory) i thought Paranormal Activity was kind of boring, and that preview really did nothing for me. i must be a total freako

  17. Loved the first PA, excited for the 2nd but this trailer was not scary. The trailer from the first PA was "scary" if I remember correctly.

  18. I know someone who worked on it and said it's a hot mess.

  19. Not scary. But I don't like babies (or dogs) in scary movies. If they make the baby cry or hurt the dog I probably won't watch it.

  20. I will admit that I saw Eclipse last night AND I saw this preview (in a Cinemark theatre, no less) and it totally freaked me out. I grew up watching horror movies but can't stomach them now - especially when kids are involved.

  21. Paranormal Activity was B.O.R.I.N.G.

I didn't think it was scary.

Ok, I'll admit it. The first one's trailer scared me so there's no way in hell I'm watching this trailer.

Ghosts scare the bejesus out of me. I'm ok with horror movies but nothing with ghosts. Too scary for me.
