Nailed Is A Mess

I don't know what the producers of Nailed were thinking when they hired Jessica Biel to star in a movie alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, but I think we could have all guessed it would be a disaster. You remember Nailed don't you? It was that movie the pair filmed almost two years ago. Well, it still has not been finished and the director just quit right before they were going to do re-shoots. That of course means someone else will come in who might not see things the same way, plus the financing is shaky on the movie so the editing might not be that great.

Basically, what would have been pretty bad anyway now probably will not even be released. The Hollywood Reporter says that the director just could not stand working on the movie anymore and that it is fundamentally different than what it was when he started.

  1. Oh Jessica Biel. If only you weren't so PRETTY, maybe these things wouldn't keep happening to you!

  2. If the producers are reading this, I have two perfectly good scripts that are worth turning into films LOL

  3. I suggest you read the Hollywood Reporter article. Its got nothing to do with Jessica or Jake. Its a fight between the financiers and the producers. It looks like they needed re-shoots, the financiers told the producers to kick in some of their fees to help pay for it, the producers told the financiers to take a hike, the director tried and failed to reconcile everybody (then quit), etc. I'm sure there were some production or script issues if they needed re-shoots in the first place. But honestly it looks like spoiled Hollywood people behind the cameras, not spoiled Hollywood people in front of the cameras.

  6. Jessica was great in "The Illusionist" and she's not a bad actress given that most actresses in Hollywood are mediocre. Calling all this on Biel is a rather lame act, Enty, and you can do better than this.

As far as the rest of the movie: Ron Tutor is a notorious corporate titan; he's been accused of robbing the Carpenter's Union pension fund with the help of U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein's husband, Richard Blum -- a slimeball of the first order (more can be found at http://articles.latimes.com/keyword/carpenters-pension-trust). Then there's David O. Russell, who has burned bridges with George Clooney and a whole bunch of other people because of his nasty demeanor. Honestly, who would want to do business with any of these cretins?

  7. Where exactly did Enty say this was Jessica's fault? I think you need to read more carefully.

  8. @Jessica - not sure if your comment was for me, but I was just being smartass and referring to an interview by Jessica where she talks about how she's "too beautiful" to be hired for good movies - Lainey keeps bringing it up and it makes me laugh every time.

  9. Basically, they took a book by Kara Gore called "Sammy's Hill" that was an okay book. Then they rewrote it, changed the plot, changed the character names, changed everything and then gave it no money, a crap script and Jake Gyllenhaal.

    What could possibly go wrong?

  17. The director is a certifiable lunatic. What's surprising is that anyone was stupid enough to bankroll him in the first place.

  18. Call me crazy, but I still say Jessica Biel is (or could be) the Ava Gardner of our time.

  19. Ok, please don't flame me for being ignorant.....but when this kind of thing happens does that mean the actors are not paid? Or do they get paid in advance?

  20. Jessica Biel sucks. She sucks the life out of every project she's involved in. Her fabulous looks must give her bad box office juju.

  21. I was on scene when they filmed the drive-in sequence. This was done in West Columbia, SC. It was a pretty hot, humid day. Jessica Biel was a real trooper. She spent almost the whole day on roller skates as they shot and re-shot each section. She was very professional and not once did I see her display even a little bit of frustration . I surely couldnt have done it. We started early and finished just before dark. I wish they would finish this film and release it because my car is in it.
