Another Sextuplet Show On TLC

Just when you thought that TLC could not possibly have any more room on their network for another family of sextuplets, they managed to find room. Beginning in three weeks, Sextuplets Take New York will start airing on the network. The show will follow an Hispanic couple who are raising 4 boys and 2 girls who are all about to turn 2.

The Network says it will show a family trying to raise such a big family on a small budget. Here is my problem with that. While Jon & Kate did struggle the first season of their show, by the second it was pretty obvious that the TLC money was rolling in. While in the first season, Jon was always working, by the second he was "working" for that family friend but that charade lasted for about an episode. It was all about taking trips and birthday parties and the whole budget tips thing and bargain shopping episodes went out because by then they had money.

At this point I think there should just be a spinoff of TLC where they can put all the large family shows they want. There are so many now I can't even keep track of them and I don't know how you can find new things to do with a family of 6.

  1. TLC sucks now. I remember when it used to be really good and you could watch operations on there. Sigh.

  2. It baffles my brain that these types of programs are popular. If any of you watch, please explain the allure. Grazie.

  3. I will admit I did watch Jon and Kate the first year and part of the second. They started getting too upity for me and I couldn't stand Kate anymore. Now I LOATHE her........

  4. Great. More child exploitation. All of these parents are distant cousins to Dina Lohan and should be pummelled.

Remember when the most controversial show on TLC was Trading Spaces? Those were the good old days... nothing like wall-papering a room with feathers. Now that was good LEARNING channel tv right there.

  6. More kids forced to work without any say in their situation. Great. Isn't TLC also doing a show on polygamy?

I no longer watch any show on TLC. I'm also boycotting all reality shows that features minor children.

  11. I'm with Susan. I don't get the appeal. Back when Jon & Kate were blowing up all the gossip blogs, I got thru about an episode and a half to see what all the fuss was about. All I saw was Kate being bitchy to Jon, Jon throwing her an occasional side eye along with a smarky remark, and kids screaming. A whole lot of kids screaming. Watching that mess was enough to make me thank the good Lord for having birth control invented so I will never have to deal with such fuckery, I tell you. But besides that...yea...I just don't get the appeal of these shows at all.

  12. I have to agree about TLC--"The Learning Channel." Learning about what? The same dumbing down's gone on with A&E, CourtTV, Discovery, etc. "The Operation" used to make me squirm in my seat but at least it was being broadcast. Now? Please.

  13. I liked watching the Gosselins when my little girl was a baby because no matter how overwhelmed I felt, I could watch that show and realize it really wasn't so bad. I wouldn't watch now.

  14. The only thing people are learning from TLC is how to exploit their children. I'm surprised they don't have Dina and Michael Lohan teaching a class on that on there. Who watches this crap????

  15. There's no need for a crappy "reality" tv channel - TLC is it. I remember The Operation. Awesome stuff. I got to sit in a restaurant and eat while someone had the brilliant idea of putting that on the big screen tv. It was just a hand operation. At least it wasn't the eye or the c-section, or the knee replacement ...

    Ah, the good old days.

I think this family is the replacement for the Gosselins. I bet they're being phased out.

  16. If this is what it takes to "phase out" Gosselins, then I'm all for it!
