Kara DioGuardi Still Has Not Been Told She Is Fired

I'm thinking that Ellen got out of American Idol at just the right time. She spent a year with Simon, picked up a few bucks and some new fans and then just slid quietly outside the side door. She does not need the job or the publicity so was free to leave.

They just seem so messed up over there right now and completely out of whack. Kara DioGuardi's father was on Capital Tonight in New York and said that his daughter found out she was fired from reading it in the news. Her father, who is a Senate candidate added, "Would you believe she did not hear -- and still has not heard -- anything?"

Did I think Kara was the best judge ever? No. But, at the same time I don't think it was entirely her fault either. There were four judges instead of 3 and chemistry issues and Simon wanting to leave and replacing Paula. If she had been an original I think she would have done fine. No matter what I think though, you just cannot treat a human being that way. No one has called her or told her she is fired? What is up with that? If you are one of these new judges would you want to work for a company like that? It would be hilarious if they had to come back to Kara and say they really need her and then she could tell them to f**k off or ask for Simon money.

  1. Nope, never liked her.

She wanted to be a contestant (or star) more than she wanted to be a judge.

Her Dad is a politician? Well, who can believe him anyway? Probably going for a few sympathy votes.

  2. am nuetral about her...at least she had the creds to back up the stint, unlike ellen, much as i like her.

talk about a classless bunch of producers tho...that's a total cheese move.

  3. Hey, I had one after school job where they made my friend tell me I wasn't working out. And when I was an adult, my SIL got me a job working as a maid in a hotel. (Tip them people, they work their asses off.) I hated it and I was too slow because I took 15 - 20 mins/room. My husband got a phone call from his mother telling him that I had to hand my uniform in.

Rinse your glasses before you use them. They're cleaned with the same cleaner for mirrors, countertops, etc. Or ask for fresh glasses.

I'm sure shit like this happens more often than we hear. Still, you'd think Kara's agent or *she* would pick up the phone and find out what's going on.

  4. Ellen definitely got out at the right time. I knew she would not stay once Simon said he was leavin'!

Maybe they haven't called Kara yet b/c they don't know what they are doing yet? They haven't even found a replacement for Simon yet?!

  6. Kara absolutely ruined Idol for me. To my eyes, she when she talked it seemed more about her saying something profound and astute than about critiquing the contestant.

I have found it very odd that her leaving the show hasn't been formally announced.

  7. Maybe it's because everything is hearsay. Maybe she hasn't been giving her walking papers and won't be UNTIL someone finds a replacement, which isn't exactly happening. Nigel Lythgoe has been very busy with So You Think You Can Dance (which ended last night -- and Ellen made a dance cameo) ... so maybe NOW there will be some information about new judges.

  8. Well look at how Idol treated Paula -- they're kinda messed up over there when it comes to the women. I mean maybe there's a reason (aside from her full plate as it is, of course) Ellen out of the blue and unexpectedly walked after only one year.

  9. I thought she was right after Simon in giving useful feedback. And I thought she was really pretty.

  10. Can't stand Kara and maybe they didn't fire her for that reason, so they could have her as a backup when the JLo shenanigans falls through.

    Besides, Ellen was fired. Right?
