Today's Blind Items
This one is kind of sad. Hopefully there are some cheery ones for tomorrow. Back in the day this tweener singer/actress was pretty big. Not like Miley Cyrus big, but in the world of tween music and acting was probably like the equivalent of 98 Degrees in the boy band archives. Last to the party, but still had a couple of hits with her group. Anyway, she was making a decent wage had a boyfriend who was famous enough that the pair would get in the tabloids. Then one day it was gone. Everything. She is in the middle of a very long drought and is not a tween anymore. She needs to support herself but basically just gets handed from one guy to the next. She allows it though because they give her a place to stay, a couple of scraps of work, and drugs when she needs them. This girl who used to be innocent has been photographed naked, has sex tapes and so much more. She had a lot of promise and if this continues you won't even remember her name in another year. You might not now.

ReplyDeleteAs someone who grew up in the timeline Enty states, 3LW was barely...I do mean barely...a one-hit wonder at best and wouldn't fit the "couple of hits" clue. Plus Enty says you won't remember her name, but Adrienne Bailon will always be remembered due to her Cheetah association. Plus Adrienne never dated during those days and only recently became famous for dating one of the Kardashians.

ReplyDeleteYeah - I think I am one of those who already don't remember (or never knew) her name. I vaguely remember 98 degrees, of the girl bands listed, I vaguely remember All Saints, but I certainly don't know anyone's name from either.

Adrienne Bailon was my first thought as she had been in both 3LW and the Cheetah Girls and serviced Fabolous' friends so that he would continue to fund her new record.

ReplyDeleteI have no clue who this poor soul is, but her parents, agents and managers should be shot. Even if this girl wasn't top of the heap, she should have made more than enough money to set up a college fund or something similar. Where did the money go? Enty mentioned drugs but only when she needs them. So I could rule out money spent on that. Seems to me she was milked clean by those around her leaving her with nothing.

ReplyDelete98 Degrees had three members. 3LW stood for 3 Little Women. They did have a couple of hits. One of them was called No More or something like that. I can't remember the other one of the top of my head.
Miley Cyrus had a show on the Disney Channel. Cheetah Girls also aired on Disney.
And I agree 2007 isn't really back in the day. But if you consider the world of gossip blogs...three years ago would've been ancient history almost.

ReplyDeleteI don't want to sound mean, but this Adrienne creature doesn't warrant the amount of time we've all spent typing her name. I feel bad that she's being passed around and is forced to request that people buy her drugs, but -- well, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. It seems to me that if anyone really cared about her, she would have sold a ticket at some point in her career or signed a significant contract.

ReplyDelete@Missy, those nude pictures were done by Adrienne and Jonathan Jaxon (what happened to him?) to help her career, they weren't done by a boyfriend and leaked. It was a horrible publicity stunt, and Jaxon admitted to it.
ReplyDeleteAdrienne is supposedly recording in NYC, so the stories about her living back home might be true. Adrienne's pretty high profile though (she is invited to a lot of urban stuff and she looks great), unlike her band mate, Kiely Williams...

They had that reality show, they had 2 hits "He Love U Not" and "This is Me", the group broke up because Diddy wanted the girls to have a more mature sexed up image, to Enty's 'late to the party' they were pretty much one of the last teen girl groups to join the girl group popularity train prior to Britney, Christina, etc. solo sexy popularity taking over. Holly Blake-Arnstein? Ashley Poole? Melissa Schuman?

ReplyDeleteI don't think it's JoJo. I'm from Boston and she's in the local gossip pages on occasion (the inside track in the Boston Herald). She is a student at Northeastern University and was always at Celtics games this past season. And she looks good, totally normal.

Don't have a clue, but I doubt it's Debbie Gibson--she's had a moderately successful career on Broadway I think. Not superstardom, but probably enough to pay her bills.

I'm going with Taryn Manning. She was on the the US version of Popstars and formed the band Boomkat with her brother and put out a few decent songs. She definitely has some acting credits to her name as well.

I don't think it's anyone who has been mentioned. Enty said we probably have already forgotten about her, so I think it's one of the members from one of the all-girl bands back in the late 09's/early 00's. Maybe someone from EnVogue.
