Four For Friday

#1 - This recent Bachelorette reject was a popular fan favorite this past season. Popular enough, in fact, that he was on the short list to be the next Bachelor. Unfortunately, however, the guy screwed himself badly by hooking up with a big-mouthed rookie publicist who had delusions of importance. Said publicist had dreams of molding her client into the next Jake Pavelka, but then made the mistake of trashing a major gossip tabloid with A-list name recognition. As a direct result, the celeb rag declared war on the poor guy. Unfortunately, the ensuing bad blood proved to be far more of a headache than ABC decided the guy was worth. The result? Brad Womack.

#2 - Members of this hit premium cable show cast were due at New York bar for an event for which they were being paid a lot of money. They were supposed to show up at 10pm, but kept fans waiting until 3am. Their excuse? They could not find the place. Uh huh.

#3 & #4 - This A++ list movie actor from one of the top five grossing movies of all time was on the house phone in a hotel lobby when he was spotted by a fan. The fan waited patiently until the actor was done with a call and as the two crossed paths, the fan asked for a picture. The actor did not even acknowledge the presence of the fan and just walked right by.

3- Actor
4 - Movie

  1. No idea on the first two (don't CARE about #1), but will go with Leo DiCaprio & Titanic for #3 and #4.

  2. #1: No idea, don't watch.

#2: Gotta go with Jersey Shore.

    #3: Leonardo DiCaprio

    #4: Titanic

  3. #2 is Glee?

    #3 & #4 Leo? Titanic?

  4. #1 - don't watch the show so no idea

    #2 Jersey Shore

#3/4- I like the Leo DiCaprio guess

  5. I agree, Leo and Titanic.

I hope it's not Johnny Depp for Pirates of the Caribbean, or Tom Hanks for Toy Story 3.

  6. I like the Titanic and Leo guess for #3 and #4

#2 says it's from a premium cable show, so think HBO, Showtime, etc. I will say Bored to Death, since that just premiered it's new season.

  7. 3 and 4 Leo and Titanic sounds right. Johnny Depp is known to be generous with fans. I thought of Harrison Ford but he tend to lay low and not cross paths with too many people.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yep, I thought Leo/Titanic for 3 & 4, too.
I think Liz may be right about #2. Though I don't understand why actors would need nor want to to do this type of 'work'--show up at our bar/club for $??? Okay, perhaps I can understand a need (I want $$$$!!!) but if that's your reason for doing it, then just show up for the minimum amount of time and get it over with.

  9. I was thinking Leo too, but thought I'd be wrong so I didn't post it. Glad to see I was on the right wavelength.

    Don't care about #1. Entourage for #2?

    ReplyDelete
  10. i can see it being Leo.
years ago i was next to him at a jamiroquai concert and he had his hat practically over his eyes...looked paranoid about people noticing him...if people got close (because they were, you know dancing), he would move away.

i kept thinking, "people are here for the show, just calm the funk down and dance!"

  11. #3/4:Dicaprio and Titanic! he's known to be stingy in autograph and pix with fans

    ReplyDelete
  12. 1. No clue.
    2. True Blood? I hope not. How rude.
    3/4 Leo and Titanic.

    ReplyDelete
  13. #2 Bored to Death
    #3 #4 Leo!! Titanic

    ReplyDelete
  14. #2 Definitely an HBO or Showtime show. I doubt that it's Entourage since the club was in NYC. Most of the stuff they promote is in Vegas or LA. True Blood people are the right age to be at a bar-based event. Would the cast of Bored to Death really appeal to people out at a bar/club? What's the other show on Showtime besides Californication? The one set in ancient Rome with Lucy Lawless and the guy who just found out he had a cancer recurrence? Lotta hotties on that show that might draw a crowd.

  15. 1. no clue
    2. True Blood (they are scheduled to appear at a casino near here), so they do that sort of thing.
    3. Leo
    4. Titanic

  17. #2 has to be Jersey Shore. No other show would have cast members appearing at a BAR.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I would go with Jersey Shore too, except MTV isn't what I would call a premium channel, I think of those as the extra pay ones. My first guess was Mad Men, because it's set in NYC and because alcohol is like this season's 5th Beatle- but it's not on a premium channel and the cast is not known for being snotty like that. I'm going with True Blood too, they're right in there for the right age/elitist timeframe to think they can do that.

Leo and Titanic were my only guess.

    I don't watch The Bachelor/ette either.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 1-no clue, don't watch that franchise...but what a dummy. him AND the pr peep.

2-hmmm....premium cable...some ensemble show...like the true blood guess. *needs to watch more tv*

    3-sam worthington

    4-avatar

  20. Please not Sam Worthington.

    The bar is in NY.

    ReplyDelete
  21. No way it's Sam Worthington. That guy goes so out of his way to pose for pics, it's kind of weird! Nice, but weird.

I've seen a lot of pictures of him, posing by the fan while he holds their camera out to snap a picture. It must take him forever to get anywhere he's going.

    ReplyDelete
  22. @sunnyside1213:Sam W isn't A++list act:he's the dude in Avatar!
But he's Leo "don't look me" Dicaprio

    ReplyDelete
  23. Don't forget Weeds on Showtime.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Pomme, I agree, Sam is no where near A++. I looked up the top grossing movies and Tom Hanks and Harrison Ford are the only other ones that fit. I still think it's Leo.

    ReplyDelete
  25. i think #2 is Entourage. the cast of Jersey Shore will show up for the opening of an envelope if you pay them in booze.

1- David Good? he's a dick. Could eb Kovacs, he doesn't know how to zip it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I know this has been said, but it's definitely either Leo or Depp. Both are known for being fiercely protective of their private lives, but DiCaprio is definitely more known for his attitude, which means it's more likely to be him, and that's why I'm going with Depp.

    ReplyDelete
  27. what is supposed to be so awful or so juicy of #3+#4? big ffffing deal - i would do the same thing.

  28. Top 5 grossing movies of all time:

    1. Avatar

    2. Titanic

    3. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

    4. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

    5. Toy Story 3

  29. Never Tom Hanks or Harrison Ford, both are known to be great with people, Ford once told Reader's Digest "It takes a lot of courage to approach a person you like and risk rejection." I always loved that quote, even before I saw him in action. (Living in Toronto has the perk of sightings.)
In all honesty, no matter how well he draws, I have heard plenty of horror stories about lovely Leo.

    Leo

    Titanic (& pending Inception, methinks.)

  30. "i think #2 is Entourage. the cast of Jersey Shore will show up for the opening of an envelope if you pay them in booze."

HAHAHAHA and my first thought was either Entourage or Jersey Shore.

  31. @ Colleen

    They showed up....just late

It sounds like Leo's snotty ass. IDGI, he is soooo vanilla & bland. The media hypes him to be this great actor when in actuality he's pretty mediocre. Guess that's why he hasn't snagged the prize yet. The audacity to snub fans. He should be thankful they care. Someone should knock him off his high horse. Never understood the fuss over him, he's the reason I don't care for Scorsese's movies anymore. LD did a butcher job on Howard Hughes, among others. Friggin mama's boy...

  33. Top 5 Domestic Box Office:
    1. Avatar
    2. Titanic
    3. The Dark Knight
    4. Star Wars
    5. Shrek 2

    Top 5 Worldwide Box Office:
    1. Avatar
    2. Titanic
    3. LOTR: Return of the King
    4. Pirates of the Caribbean
    5. Toy Story 3

Of these movies, the ones with A++ male stars are Titanic (Leo DiCaprio), Pirates (Johnny Depp), Toy Story 3 (Tom Hanks), and Star Wars (Harrison Ford). I consider Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) to be A/A+, but he's not on the level of the other actors.

Definitely Leo- he has had a reputation of being weird with fans since he started acting. He hates being recognized in his "off" time and will rarely pose for pictures or sign autographs.

Johnny Depp has been rated #1 by some celebrity autograph site for years- he's known for being really gracious with his fans, especially kids. Really doubt it would be him.

Tom Hanks has been known as the Nicest Man in Hollywood for about 3 decades- don't think he got the reputation by acting like this.

Could be Harrison Ford- he's a curmudgeon, and he's forever A++, but my money is on Leo.

  34. I would not think that #2 is True Blood cast members. Only because I am a serious fanatic of that show, and follow various websites related to it. If TB cast members were that late to an event, the fanbase would have heard about it by now. I'd go with Jersey Shore except that I don't think MTV has been considered a "premium" cable channel for a very very very long time.

  35. I see how #3 would seem snotty & ungrateful, it's the go to response when a celeb doesn't stop for poses, but I can see how annoying that would be while you're on the phone and some random hangs around that long for some attention. Hell, I'm pissed when I have to work on my off-time, I can't imagine being expected to ALWAYS be accomodating to the job.

I think 1 is the cutie Chris from MA...the one Ali passed on this past season. And the fact I know this disturbs me more than you will ever know.

    ReplyDelete
  37. IDK, mygeorgie, I think if you make millions (possibly tens of millions) for a movie you can at least be polite to friends and not act like an ass.

Someone should remind Leo that one of his first acting gigs was a stint on Growing Pains. I'll bet he'd love to forget that.

So true, but I kind of think that HF has given me so much great entertainment, he's EARNED his curmudgeon-hood.
But I think this blind is Leo.
Leo's looks are fading, and he's only going to get plumper. He might end up the full Val Kilmer. He should be appreciative of his fame while he has it, IMO.

(Thanks for leading the group with facts and logic in your comment, ctkat1.)

    ReplyDelete
  39. can i just say that blind number #1 i was thinking it was brad wollack from chelsea handler instead of brad womack. i was really confused and was like they gave the part of bachelor to him???

    ReplyDelete
  40. I know nothing about the Bachelor/ette shows, but declaring "war" on some guy because his publicist talked bad about them is pretty hypocritical for a gossip rag, right? They can dish it out but they can't take it? Are we supposed to be guessing which gossip magazine (or website?) this is about, or do they all do stuff like that?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Boardwalk Empire is my guess for #2. It's about Prohibition. It was filmed in NY because they couldn't film in Jersey.

    ReplyDelete
  42. @J
Agree with you re Leo. He's great at playing the distressed, is-he-or-isn't-he-psycho, crying man role. He's done it 3 times in a row now: Rev Road, Shutter Isl & Inception. If he didn't get Oscar for Rev Road, why should he get it for Inception?

    ReplyDelete
  43. #1 Sounds totally made up. And besides, by "next Jack Pavelka", did Enty mean gay rumours?

#3 & 4 I read "fan waited patiently until the actor was done with a call" as "hang around intruding on a personal conversation" and no surprise he got nothing for his troibles.

    ReplyDelete
  44. #1 Chris Lambton

    #2 I immediately thought Entourage

#3 I am on the Leo train

kathrynnova, I don't get what's so terrible about #3 and #4 either. I would probably react the same way.

J, I actually disagree with you. I think Leo's a great actor, but I still don't see what the big deal is. Actors are people too which means they are also prone to having shitty personalities. Big whoop. People take it way too personally IMO.

libby, I feel the opposite. I actually think Leo is getting better looking as he gets older, but that's just me.

Tatyana, that's how I read #3 and #4 as well. Chances are, I would have done the same thing.
