Mom Kills Her Baby Over Farmville

A Jacksonville woman has pleaded guilty to second degree murder. She admitted to killing her baby because the baby would not the mom focus on her game of Farmville. For those of you who do not have Facebook, or have not had the pleasure of Farmville, it is a very addicting game. I know someone who has spent $5000 of real money playing the game. That is crazy!!

Not as crazy of course as killing your baby because they would not let you have enough time to play. That being said, I also think she got lucky that she only had to plead to second degree murder. The woman shook her baby and then stopped and had a cigarette and then shook her baby again. That does not seem like any kind of unintentional act to me. She took a break to have a cigarette and then knowingly did the same act again.

  1. I have a lot of friends that play that game - glad I never got into it. I remember hearing that people were having full-on meltdowns when FB when down for a day...wtf.
As for this wonky-eyed broad, there ain't no Farmville in prison, honey.

  2. WTF?! Are you serious? I wouldn't be surprised if Farmville support groups started popping up as a result of this. Actually, I hope they do so that no one kills their infant child over an infantile game.

  3. why did she have to do that? I just lock mine in the attic with a bed pan and a box of Cheerios.

  5. for real, though: I don't like to hear about people abusing/killing their kids. Can we please leave this a baby killing free zone? Sickening.

  6. The game can be addicting, but it's pretty tedious, too. It's like computer solitaire -- some people really get into the strategic clicking, and some don't.
Even if this woman didn't have Farmville to bring out her crazy, something else would have.

  7. good to know, KellyLynn. I am not a big solitaire, et al. type player, but I am constantly bombarded with those Farmville type games. I have thought about when I am not so crazy busy maybe trying one, but your comment helps me realize that I probably wouldn't like it anyway. Now I have no temptation! Yay!

  8. I thought the farmville craze was over. I played for awhile, but then it got boring. And I would NEVER spend a dime of my own money on it.

  9. The South Park episode about Facebook was hilliarious. Especially the Farmville to do.
This story is quite sad. I despise baby/child killers as much as animal killers/child molesters. You just can't fix souless-ness.

  10. I know a woman who created a FB page for her 2yo grandson.... so she could start a second Farmville game other than the one she's got going on her OWN FB page. It's a sickness.

As for the woman who shook her baby, had a cigarette, and shook the kid again, prison's too good for ya, honey. And why am I not surprised this story is coming out of Florida?

  11. Well just look at her! She ought not to have been procreating in the first damn place. Poor, poor little baby. Extinguish this dim bulb!

  12. Farmville crashed a lot of people's computers through Zynga's site not being virus-proof, so most all of the people I know and am FB friends with have quit.

Anyway, people, before killing your baby, call me. I cannot have children, and would love to take your baby in my house today!

  13. I agree with KellyLynn -- Farmville is only an excuse. Millions of people play it everyday and don't kill their kids. She was gonna hurt that baby anyway. If she doesn't die in jail, they should make sure she doesn't have the chance to have any more babies.

  14. Jamie's Girl, I'm with you. I was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer at 21 and can't have my own kids so it KILLS me to hear stories like this.

  15. This chick looks fourteen.

  16. I agree with you Cindy. If it wasn't Farmville, it would have been her favorite soap opera that the child interrupted. Same result. Scum of the earth.

  18. this women is obviously a little not right in the head for this to happen. it's not like Farmville is super intense.

  19. bits of moxy: Ever read any Edgar Cayce? The "Sleeping Prophet" from Kentucky predicted the rise of a "soulless generation" 60-70 years ago, and with news like this and the advent of the Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant shows, I'm beginning to believe him. What actual human person could do something like this?

  20. See this is why I ask why Fate gives undeserving people children.

If you don't want to care for that child give the baby up to someone who will not think it's a burden and will shower it with love.

She is a bitch whom I hope someone shakes until her eyes pop out in prison.

  22. Jesus Christ people, this woman is probably seriously mentally ill and was before she ever had a baby. It is a horrible, horrible thing she did, but you HAVE to credit the existence of post partum depression, addiction, and plain old schizophrenia and acknowledge that some women who shouldn't get pregnant sometimes DO get pregnant.

I have been reading bits and pieces about this all day and have YET to hear anyone say: "Where was the baby's father?" OR "Why did this young woman not have access to birth control or abortion, given that she clearly wasn't ready to have a baby in her life?"

    ReplyDelete
  23. Child abusers, especially baby-killers, need to be prosecuted. IF it is found that there is mental illness, it will be factored in, but not all abusers are mentally ill. I'm tired of excuses.

  24. Unfortunately, many people shake babies to death. It doesn't have anything to do with mental illness or playing Farmville. I hear about one or two cases a year where I live (CA). Growing up, there used to be public service ads on TV about it.

  25. Anonymous3:40 PM

I feel the need to defend Florida. There are some normal people living here who go to work every day and pay their bills and let all their kids live.

But this is bad. I never got rooked into Farmville but find lately that I've been playing... gulp... Frontierville, which I believe is about the same thing, only with more "pardner" and pioneer type stuff. These are not time sensitive, intense games. You can stop and take care of your baby and go back and all your crops will still be there. I don't think we can blame Farmville for this one, the blame has to fall on a sick, immature mother who didn't value her precious child.

  26. Sometimes when I play the Sims, my cat will jump up on my lap so I can pet him. I usually just pause my game and, you know, don't shake/choke him. But hey, that's me.

  27. i like farmvillain haha. brew your own meth lab, hire illegal immigrants and take away their rights and make em slaves, crash airplanes into neighbors barns, grow weed, etc etc. it really ticks off religious friends on fb

  28. totally agree jfwlucy: Why shouldn't women be given mental health tests before they're allowed to get pregnant? Maybe something to check if they might get post-partum depression, too, you know, see if they might get a case of the crazies later on. Then they could abort the baby before it is born, because killing a baby after it is born is just disgusting. I mean, clearly the only reason this psycho didn't abort the baby or use birth control was because she couldn't get access to it. There's no way that she should've been allowed to carry a baby knowing that she would later kill it. They should've held her down and shoved birth control down her mouth.

Wait, I thought pro-abortion people were pro-abortion based on the idea that women should be able to decide if they want to let their kid live or not? Oh, now I'm all confused.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Nobody is pro-abortion, chihuaense.

People are pro-CHOICE. As in, let the woman decide. Don't you trust women?

Abortion is NOT equivalent to murder or infanticide because you will NEVER EVER be able to prove scientifically to me that a clump of cells has a soul or a consciousness, like a newborn or an adult.

YOU may think a blastocyst has a soul. That's a matter of YOUR faith and you can't impose your FAITH on someone else. Let the woman decide. Let her wrestle with that issue of when a blastocyst becomes a person. Or don't you trust women?

    ReplyDelete
  30. No, the question is, do YOU trust women?

    absolutely amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  31. By the way, you should probably solidify your argument before you write it...not only is it played out, but your slip is showing.

And I totally get where you can say that we should be able to decide that some women should not allowed to get pregnant. I shouldn't have said that I think killing babies is disgusting. Your opinion is your opinion, and my opinion is shoving my FAITH down your throat. I stand corrected. Makes total sense.

  32. I'm not excusing her in any way, but Farmville and the other games are extremely psychologically manipulative. They are designed to addict you, and they can be almost as bad as drinking or drugs. People have lost jobs, relationships, and money they can't afford. I hate how much time I've wasted on them, but I can never quit for long. If you have an addictive personality, stay far, far away from them.

  33. C, I never said anywhere that women should not be allowed to get pregnant. I'm saying that if you remove women's ability to CHOOSE to prevent pregnancy by not covering BC pills with insurance, as many HMOs don't, AND/OR their CHOICE to obtain an abortion, you can expect a lot more tragic ends for unwanted BORN CHILDREN.

Newsflash: people are going to have sex.

Second newsflash: it makes sense to enable women to terminate CLUMPS OF CELLS if they are mentally, physically, or financially unable to care for THE CHILDREN that will result.

  34. you are making a grand assumption that this woman would've aborted her kid if she had had access to abortion or she would've taken birth control if she had been able? Eh. Way to distort a story.

I read what you said. You said sometimes women that shouldn't have babies do. Given that statement, and your other statement saying she clearly wasn't ready for a kid, any logical person would assume that you mean she should've been evaluated for her capacity to raise a child before she was given the opportunity. In any sense of that reasoning, you are saying, whether you intend it to be or not, that her decision of whether to bear a child or not was not her right. Which is clearly not the position of pro-baby-killers.

As for the topic of abortion, go ahead and think that because a baby cannot speak for themselves that they are not a person. Thank goodness that logic hasn't rolled into systematic killings of all who can't speak for themselves. I'm not going to defend myself for saying your clump of cells is a baby in my mind. I will continue knowing it is a child and you do your thing. I don't have your conscience, so it's on you. The end.

  35. Sorry, C. You are not making any sense and you clearly lack reading comprehension skills. Best of luck in your future.

  36. @bits of moxy - "Well, Stan I have to harvest my crops before it's too late!" :)

@Little Miss Smoke and Mirrors - I know more than one person that created a profile for their dog for the same reason. W. T. F.

I did have a little Farmville addiction about a year or so ago but I don't have time to water my crops regularly so my farm went to shit. :)

This woman is a horrible person and def. has a serious case of the wonky eye.
