A school board in Florida said the prohibition against skimpy clothes did not apply to cheerleaders so they can wear these to class.

Nah, that's just ground up chicken parts (bones, everything) that will next be treated with ammonia, then the pink colouring will be removed/covered up. Welcome to McDonald's.

While Grease 2 was being filmed, I lived across the street from the high school where it was shot. We all became accustomed to lots of old school buses, bright lights and actors in 50s clothing. Zmed was actually fairly friendly. However, we were all very glad when they finished filming.

Melody the First, I am so jealous of you right now. I thought Michelle Pfeiffer was the most beautiful woman, and Maxwell Caulfield was just dreamy. That year for Xmas I asked for shiny, pink hot pants. I bet I could still sing every word to "Cool Rider".

Don't just blame McD's. That pink crap is mechanically separated chicken and it is in a lot more than just McNuggets. I have banned it from our house, and it is not missed (except for when I am hungover, and can't have Lipton's Chicken Noodle). Google mechanically separated chicken, and prepare to be disgusted.

ReplyDeleteThose cheerleader uniforms are only slightly more skimpy than what we had at my school. It is kind of a double standard to have a strict dress code & then allow that...although back in the day I never really thought about that.

ReplyDeleteGrease 2- yeah, I was a fan back in the day. But now that I'm older I would probably think it's crap -except for that seasons song they did in the talent show. Love that.

the mcdonalds 'chicken' is GROSS. i usually avoid the place like the plague but will occasionally indulge in a fillet o fish (yeah... i know. not real fish either) and vanilla shake.
ReplyDeletei applaud the bridgeport (CT)cheerleaders. the reason they're protesting their uniforms is because they bear too much midriff, which can potentially lead the girls to eating disorders from having to be constantly 'on display'. they would rather represent talent in their cheerleading and performance abilities, not what their midsections look like.
i think its fantastic to see high school ladies with such integrity, almost seems rare nowadays. especially in a world where you can so easily sell yourself by being simply being sexy/provactive.
I prefer my Zmed to be savored watching 'Bachelor Pary' over and over.

Adrian Zmed on Caroline in the City was hysterical. I loved that show too.

ReplyDeleteGrease 2: my favorite worst movie. I loved Eve Arden in it, but the movie was so bad it was almost good. The song I liked was "Girl for all Seasons." Caulfield was cute, but utterly wooden. Michelle was so gorgeous that I knew she'd be getting lots of attention and work, despite how awful the movie was.
that mcnugget picture honestly was making me gag. so of course i had to post it to fb. thank god i dont eat meat. however, i am in the middle of a mcdonald's egg and cheese biscuit. not sure if ill be finishing it now...

ReplyDeleteMy school, class of '74, had some skimpy outfits. Same administrative response too when someone questioned it. But then, the very next year after someone questioned, the principal was BUSTED as a pedophile. Keep a close watch!
