Amber Portwood Knowingly Mixes Pills & Booze

Amber Portwood says she misses her daughter, but she sure has a funny way of showing it. Instead of trying to get her daughter back or trying to improve herself she has instead been partying almost every night, dating lots of different guys and according to Life & Style, mixing shots of vodka with Klonopin which does not go with alcohol at all.

At a recent party, Amber told other people that she cannot drink too much because of the pills and pulled out the bottle. It did not stop her from doing a bunch of shots of vodka though. I am not sure how this is showing anyone that you want your child back. I am grateful that at least her daughter can be with her father and other people who seem way more responsible.

  1. This show should be banned. I think it puts the babies in harms way for irresponsible young parents who are playing for cameras and more interested in partying than raising their children.

This is why our society sucks sometimes. We glorify and support teen sex, yet most teens are not responsible enough to care for their children (nor SHOULD they be in actuality...they are kids themselves and shouldn't be worried about such things.)

I do like however the one with the young parents who made the painful and selfless decision to make an adoption plan for their baby. Now their baby will live a good, healthy life with a normal family and away from cameras.

I am not saying that any 16 year old is not capable of raising a child. There are many who do, i.e. Bristol Palin, but she has a very supportive family and has financial means to do so.

Just read any of your teen family members and friends facebooks and you will see just how immature they are. Willow Palin is just one example. They all talk like that and are truly kids. Many of these girls think they are going to be giving birth to an All American Doll or something and it will be fun to play with and dress up, but don't realize that raising a child is a lot more than changing diapers and feeding. Much much more. Parenthood is the most difficult job on the planet and doing it well is a major accomplishment. I think 16 is just way too young for most people to be expected to do that.

  3. I think the real danger is when the show is over how fast both parents will lose interest in the child.

  4. Without the show Amber would still have custody. It doesn't need to keep going on and on though.

  5. @ Ice Angel: I gotta concur, 100%. From what I've read on another site, her friends also say she doesn't seem interested in getting her daughter back, so maybe it's for the best.

  6. I think this is the truth for a lot of teen moms and perhaps girls wanting babies because they think their boyfriends will stick around might see this show as an example that it isn't a fairytale...

Okay. Probably not because as teenagers don't we all think we're so effin special and different?

  7. This girl has some serious issues. I do agree with rose, the show highlighted her behavior enough that the child is in a safer environment.

  10. i admit i watch this show.
the overwhelming majority of the relationships that spawned the babies don't survive, with the boys walking away to carry on with their lives and maybe see their child now and then, and the girls struggling to finish high school and mostly see their dreams of college and a good job go up in smoke.

most didn't use birth control or used it sporadically, and all of them thought it wouldn't happen to them.

i think it's a pretty clear-eyed look at the impact teen pregnancy has on your life. maybe that's not a bad thing?

  11. I watched this show with my 16 year old. She's as disgusted as I was by all of the "couples", except for the couple that gave up their child.

Amber is a pig. She needs to get her tubes tied NOW. I feel so sorry for the child. I think if the father had any sense of integrity he would take this footage, go to court and get full custody.

  12. did anyone ever believe amber was a loving mother? i never saw any evidence of that. she used leah as a weapon against gary and that's about it. other than that, she pretty much ignored her.

  13. I'm on the fence with what I think about this show...

MTV is really good at highlighting the worst that is in humanity, I'll give them that.
