Carnie Wilson Fired For Not Losing Enough Weight

When The Fresh Diet hired Carnie Wilson to lose weight using their product, they probably envisioned that she would probably starve herself in order to lose weight and make the product look great. The company said she was supposed to eat three meals a day and two snacks. Even though Carnie lost 19 pounds, the company still fired her. Why?

Well, it seems that Carnie has been promoting her new line of cheesecakes. Huh? Yep. According to Star Magazine, the singer made the company mad because while she was being paid to advertise their weight loss product, at the same time she was out trying to sell her line of cheesecakes. Apparently they were not diet cheesecakes either.

"Carnie was promoting her cheesecakes while she was supposed to be only eating our three meals and two snacks a day. She didn't stick to it, and she didn't lose weight. We had to cut ties with her".

  3. I think that's sad. I didn't know she was a spokesperson for the diet or had her own cheesecake line. But apparently, she's great at making cheesecakes and needed it to make money to pay bills. We all know reality TV doesn't pay loads (on minor networks) and probably the diet company was just paying for HER meals. Doesn't mean she doesn't need to feed her family.

So she was hawking cheesecakes and on a diet plan? How is that cheating, exactly.

Maybe their diet line doesn't work. How long did it take to lose the 19 lbs? Maybe they didn't have her on the right calorie count. I think there's more to this. Maybe the diet company didn't get enough press with her on the roster so now it's getting PLENTY by axing her.

  4. I'm old enough to remember when "cheesecake" meant something far different than this!

  5. I read this story last week. Apparently she is in financial trouble and is looking for anyway to make money.

I guess that house husband of hers is too lazy to get off his ass and get a j.o.b.

  10. thanks @ other .robert.

Weird. I wonder why? Do you know?

  11. I won't swear to the accuracy of this but I'm too lazy to fact check it:

The classic pin-up genre - cheesecake - fulfills our definition perfectly. Cheesecake (Which Webster defines as "photography displaying especially female comeliness and shapeliness") is said to have gotten its name when, in September 1915, a newspaper photographer, George Miller, noticed a visiting Russian diva, Elvira Amazar, just as she was debarking her ship in New York. Miller asked the opera singer to hike up her skirt a little for the sake of the picture. Later, the photographer's editor, something of a gourmet, is supposed to have exclaimed, "Why, this is better than cheesecake!"

  12. hey, if you get a job representing a company like this and you know it's to show their product works.

i doubt seriously they gave her a month or something and said 'nope, not enough' and canned her. carnie's weight has been an issue all her life. she's had surgery, she gained it, lost it and gained it.
don't blame it on the company. they're within their rights to do this.
and cheesecakes?? yeah, i can see how that wouldn't be the message they wanted the face of their company to be putting out there.

"hey, i'm eating this diet shit? but please buy my fattening, diet-busting cheesecakes!!!'

  14. Thanks for that. That's a pretty neat bit of "useless" information.

  15. I really feel for people who have to publicly struggle with their weight, like Carnie. It's hard enough to deal with weight/food issues without having thousands of strangers laughing at you online. On the other hand, getting your own reality show kind of sets you up for some ridicule...

  16. Damn, she is having money probs. At the height of Wilson Whatever, she had to have been a multi-millionaire. Sad because she has kids.

  17. On her reality show she said that she almost lost her house before she got the hosting job with The Newlywed Game. Now that she no longer has that, I wonder how they are paying bills?

  18. Yes, Carnie did have the bypass surgery, but apparently it only lasts 5 - 10 years. Even if they can't eat the same amount, a lot of people put weight back on. Also, I have heard of people who drink their calories rather than eat them after they have the surgery.
