Malin Akerman As Linda Lovelace

One of the reasons I thought the producers of Inferno would never replace Lindsay Lohan no matter how many time she f**ked up or went to jail or rehab was that they would not want to give up on the hype that the movie would keep generating and that I did not think there would be very many if any actresses who would want to subject themselves to what the role requires. Lots of violent sex and lots of full on frontal nudity.

Not for the first time, I was wrong. Malin Akerman has replaced Lindsay Lohan in the movie Inferno. Of course if you ask Lindsay's people they will say she dropped out. You know, because paychecks are really irrelevant to them now that they have Michael Lohan Jr ready to star in his epic film.

When I would think if anyone could replace Lindsay I would think of people like Taryn Manning or even like Chloe Sevigny. Not Malin Akerman. Not the woman who always plays the modest and sweet role. Did you see The Proposal? I have never really seen her with an edge. Maybe it was what she needs to shake up her career, but that is what Elizabeth Berkley said about Showgirls. Look how that turned out. Can you imagine though if Malin were to be nominated for an Academy Award for the role? Lindsay would kick herself everyday forever.

Say it takes a year to make the movie, then the year after that it gets the Academy nod. That's two years into the future. Will Lindsay be alive in two years?!

  2. So if she's too risky...(Lohan) does this mean the end is in sight...and we will be free of her....

  3. I never thought of Malin as sweet and innocent. Harold and Kumar? Watchmen? Not so much.

  4. Definitely not sweet and innocent! On top of what sugarspicenothingnice said, she also did the 3-way on "Entourage."

  5. I thought LiLo would be the only "mainstream" actress willing to do the part since I expect it to end up being softcore porn.

  6. The Linda Lovelace story is heavy drama. It could be bigger that "Boogie Nights". Definitely could show the dark side of the porn industry. I don't know who the director and producers are but if it's done right it could be huge. Or it could be the Sin-a-max movie of the week.

  7. I agree, could be like Boogie Nights. And maybe it would be if they had cast COURTNEY LOVE! I think she would have been puuuurfect!

  8. I imagine her story is very interesting.

  9. Looserdude, only if it is done right. If the producers take the time to oversee a good script and care about the acting, it could be a Boogie Nights.

  10. According to Linda Lovelace her abusive husband forced her into the porn industry and every time she had sex on film she was being raped in the sense it was against her will and she was only doing it so her husband wouldn't abuse her more. I actually don't think Lindsay Lohan was a good enough actress to play that role. Not sure Malin Ackerman is either. I agree with enty that someone like Chloe Sevigny would have been good.

  11. Does this thing actually have a budget? I thought it would be LiLo and a rented camera at an abandoned 7-11 off the main highway.

  12. Who is behind this movie? - I agree with the fact that it could turn out like Showgirls, it's a risky move but I'll wait and see if Malin can really act.

    Ummmm why?
With Lohan in the role, there's no way on God's green Earth it would ever hit the Academy radar, even if it set box office records.
Of course, if the above were to occur, count on Dina screaming how Linds was robbed.
And Michael making money selling interviews.

  14. As I said to Lutefisk yesterday, I think Ackerman is a good choice - I think she could really change some minds with this role. That being said, we all know, Lohan has WAY more experience with degrading sex and this sort of lifestyle, so there's that.

  15. Is it wrong that I'd like to see her win an Oscar for this role, for no other reason than to see the White Oprah storm the stage and rip it out of Malin's hands and grab at the microphone a la Kanye. Now that would be some great reality tv.

  16. I'm hoping that LL will FINALLY see that her misguided actions have real consequences.

  17. I have still to hear what studio or independent finaniciers are backing this movie. And as far as I know, they have yet to get approval from her estate for a bio-pic.

I just don't see this movie ever getting made.

  18. Im with Timebob here, it seems strange.

  19. Bless you MommaBear. I could actually see White Oprah doing that a mascara streamed down her face from crocodile tears.

" This was my Baby's Oscar!!!"

  20. Obviously Enty hasn't seen "Children's Hospital" on Adult Swim. I'm surprised - Rob Cordry's on it as well.

I've never seen this girl as innocent, in the heartbreak kid she was full frontal naked if i remember correctly or at least showed a lot. anyway I don't think shes a good enough actress either hopefuly she will surprise me.

  22. I love Malin! This is an interesting pick but mostly b/c her career has actually had relevance in the past 5 years vs. Lindsay.

Wonder if Dina would try and sue if the movie actually got Oscar buzz or the inevitable happens?

Well, Lohan is not without talent. And more than one actor has received accolades for portraying themselves. If a broken down busted Lilo just acted herself it just might be construed as a brilliant performance. Stranger things have happened.
