David Arquette Quits Drinking - For Awhile

David Arquette has become almost a weekly visitor to The Howard Stern Show and yesterday he told Howard that he is quitting drinking. Apparently the drinking has got out of hand and so he says he is quitting for a long time. I have said the same thing before, especially after a really bad hangover or an unexplained tattoo or group of stitches that appears was sewn by someone as drunk as myself. It never lasts.

His therapist says David is having a nervous breakdown. I think he is more likely going through a mid-life crisis and is finding that everyone wants to party with him and drink with him and pay to have him host their parties which involves more drinking. Considering that every week he is being advertised to host a party at The Roosevelt, I am guessing his self imposed drinking ban will not last. What he needs to do is grow up.

  1. Kinda not surprised things got out of control. When my fiance and I split up, I acted similarly. I think it's a response to your whole world turning upside down, living somewhere new, being single, etc. I'm gonna cut him a break. Good for him for trying to wrestle it under control, though.

  3. He is a super fan of Howard Stern and loves him.

David admitted he can't grow up to Howard and doesn't really want to.

I just hope CoCo doesn't suffer too much with having a dad that needs more parenting then she does.

  7. he can't grow up? more like he's afraid to, so doesn't. i hope he comes to terms w/ it and deals w/ his fears...b/c the little immature act is a wrong, wrong, wronnnnng message to send out to his little girl. she needs a dad that's a man, in every sense of the word, and it appears she doesn't have that. so glad courtney left him.

  8. Poor guy. He needs someone to talk to and is probably trying to speak to Courtney more than anyone by calling into "Howard Stern". I mean, we all know the guy is drinking and running amok because he's hurting. I feel sad for him. He really loves his wife, but it looks like she may have moved on.

  9. Every time I read about another David Arquette story I think about how bad it might for his kid. I get that he's going through a tough time but I just wish he wasn't doing it so publicly. It's kind of humiliating.

  10. What he needs is for everyone to give him a break and allow himself to be human.

Roosevelt is promoting his own club.

He's honest. I get this rubs everyone the wrong way since we're so used to bullshit on everything we read and see but we should give it a chance. Seriously.
