Snooki The Hamster Moved To Jersey

Apparently MTV forgot to get permission from Times Square organizers to have Snooki being dropped in her hamster ball on New Years Eve. So, now, producers from MTV are saying it was never their plan to drop Snooki in Times Square. Uh huh. That must be why when the story came out last week they told the world the story was wrong. Did you hear anything like that? Me either. Now, Snooki is going to have to drop in Jersey. Right on the shore. Makes sense. Afterwards, everyone can get drunk and fight.

  1. sideye to enty...puhleese.

mtv does not 'forget' to pull a permit and run thru the permissions protocol. their legal arm is massive and its tentacles far-reaching. you know this. this is a publicity stunt. it was never going to happen. they just needed to interject snookie/new years/times square to create a buzz...there's a method to that marketing madness, and honestly, well-played. was it smarmy and unethical? of course. but this is mtv we're talking about. they ceased (questionable) ethics long, long ago. their little 'relocated' snooki jersey drop will go on as planned.

  3. Pookie the City came out and said MTV requested the permit too late and they couldn't accomadate them.

On any other day MTV can have the run of the city but not on NYE. It is a mini-military state that night. I know I live there.

And they just started setting up in NJ yesterday when they announced their Plan B. Trust me MTV execs are not geniuses.

  4. t/b...i hear you...what i'm saying is that mtv's 'forgetfullness' was deliberate. their primary base is NY. if anyone knows how it works there, it's them. what they wanted was the word out that snooki would be dropped in a countdown ball...they knew it would never happen in t/sq, for the very fact that you stated...the eyes of the world are upon it during that time of yr, and it is indeed a military state, particularly on that night. but the buzz they created on the interwebz alone regarding this idiot being a part of the festivities...priceless. keeps them in their buzz going thru repeats and hiatus.

  7. haha Looser, @Pookie totally agree with you on that.

But I do hope they calibrate that wire to hold her. She is getting bigger every day. Not that I would mind seeing her splattered all over the Jersey Shore.

  8. Can they drop her in the ocean instead?

  9. @shakey: Maybe the ball will drop to the ground ("Oh my God!",) roll down the boardwalk ("Snooki!") and across the beach into the Atlantic Ocean while Snooki screams and waves frantically as she drifts out to sea ("Snooki, come back!") THAT would be some good television!

  10. I'm still laughing at Robert's vision. If wishes came true--that's my pick.

  11. Maybe they can drop her in one of Jersey's chemical plants. What color do you get if you mix orange with dayglo green?

  12. I had heard that rumor but just couldn't believe that the Times Square organizers would stoop so low. At least Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffith (if they are CNN's hosts this year) won't have to comment about it. Of course, the organizers could have had the ball drop on Snooki and squished her!

  13. I was wondering why NYC would have allowed that as old as that thing is...She was quoted talking about it so maybe she really thought it was going to happen?

  14. Maybe we will all get lucky and she will fall and squash the rest of the Jersey Shore morons and then roll in to the ocean and get swept away. I have my fingers crossed
