This A list singer who, is older than many retired people, used to also really want to be an actor. In fact, when he first started taking it seriously, he managed to land a role that was supposed to go to Marlon Brando. Of course Marlon was not willing to sleep with the director like our singer did.

ReplyDeleteThinking the role was "Ned Kelly"- directed by Tony Richardson (father of Natasha Richardson, ex husband of Vanessa Redgrave) who died of AIDS in 1991 and I think was gay/bisexual.

ReplyDeleteHow about Performance instead for the movie? Directed by Donald Cammell & Nicolas Roeg, co-starring James Fox, very strange combination of violent gangsters & psychedelia--also, Roeg has done some pretty explicit/controversial films in the past (Don't Look Now, in which Donald Sutherland & Julia Christie may actually have been filmed having sex, for one). Somehow that sounds more up Brando's alley to me than playing a homemade armor-wearing Australian antihero, but maybe it's just me...

ReplyDeleteCoke Mom Jr, after seeing that clip, I just can't picture Marlon Brando in that role. Wouldn't make sense.
