Brad Womack Says He Deserved Slap

In order to actually get someone to watch the new season of The Bachelor, ABC is promoting the program by showing Brad Womack getting slapped in the face by Chantal O'Brien. Brad says the slap was hard and real, but that he deserved it and does not want Chantal prosecuted. Umm, so if he slapped her and she said she deserved it, do you think ABC would be promoting that?? What the heck is the difference? No one ever deserves to be slapped or punched and although Brad says he does not condone any violence in a relationship, I think his comments suggest otherwise. Chantal said she did it for all scorned women everywhere. And to get attention for life after the show. Next Bachelorette anyone??

  1. They said in the NY Post this morning that a) the producers told her to do it and b) this girl is the one he ends up with.

  2. It's definitely sending a bad message. Her hitting him is not okay, and it's not funny. How many of the people watching are going to know that it was faked by the producers? And apart from the violence issue, how dumb is the message they're promoting that he's an ass because he didn't propose to a woman he'd only known for a couple of months?

  3. I think it probably has to do with societal stereotypes and gender bias. Women working the same job as men make less, but we can slap them out, so I guess it evens out.

  4. He was on Jimmy Kimmel the other night, and Jimmy kept telling him to stop apologizing, that he had done nothing wrong. He (Jimmy) said that by not picking someone at the end was much smarter than choosing someone, only to break up with them 2 or 3 months later.

I know a lot of people really like The Bachelor/Bachelorette, but honestly, it's so shlocky, it's painful to watch.

  5. Reality Steve sez slappy chick is the one he picked in the end and that Brad had spent Thanksgiving with her family in Palm Desert, CA.

Maybe Brad likes a little slap and tickle??

I gotta agree with Jimmy Kimmel. At least Brad didn't go through with a fakey ass engagement only to break up after the hoopla died down.

  6. Come on, that was barely a slap. That couldn't have hurt him a bit, she just barely brushed his cheek. What a wuss!

  7. I don't care how good looking he is, his voice drives me crazy.
    He talks so slooooooow.

I know he picks the slapper, but it would be nice if he didn't pick anyone.

How can you respect a guy who had to seek therapy for not choosing a woman on the show?!

I thought it was great that he didn't pick anyone.
Now he just comes across as a pathetic loser.

  8. I agree with you all. WHY does he keep apologizing? He didn't do anything wrong! I hate how they are playing up how "awful" and "horrible" of a human being he was for not picking anyone. Stupid. I actually thought that took alot of guts to admit he hadn't fallen in love and wouldn't commit. Now I can't stand him! God, I hate how I have to watch this show, lol. It's soooo cheesy and fake but I can't help it.

  9. I agree with Jimmy - better to admit you didn't make a connection than try to make a non-existing relationship exist just for the sake of TV. I have more respect for Brad for what he did than have a situation like Jake & Vienna!

  10. I forgot to watch this!

That was stupid. I am surprised his reaction wasn't a different one. I like the girl that just ran up to him & yelled "catch me!" Ellen showed a clip of that today. :)

  11. Ummm...because he's a dick & he deserved it? She didn't slap him that hard & it was obviously staged for the cameras. Have you been hanging out on Jezebel, Ent?

    /or whoever posted this?
