Today's Blind Items

This B list rap star who also acts in movies and even on Broadway was scheduled to do a tour of Australia. The thing is he told the promoter one thing who went out and sold a bunch of tickets and then two days before the show said he was not going to be able to make it and could the promoter reschedule the entire festival for our rapper. Umm, no.

Our rapper has his tour rescheduled to fit his new dates. The problem is he decides he does not want to get on the plane in the US so the dates are postponed again and again and again. A few of the shows which had to be postponed are charity concerts that the rapper wanted set up in the first place. Meanwhile, our rapper did find time to dance on stage with Prince in New York. When the rapper finally did make it to Australia he would show up late despite strict instructions he must be on time because of curfews. He also canceled random shows and has just been the biggest pain in the butt ever and caused the promoter of all these shows to shut down his business.

  2. Who else but P Diddy? He was in the "Raisin in the Sun" on Broadway.

  4. Mos Def, Ice Cube, Ludicrous, Common, 50 Cent all fit. So which one was scheduled to tour Aus and which one danced on stage with Prince?
Sadly, I think P Diddy is A list.

  5. There are a lot of asshole rappers but the only one this arrogant would be Diddy.

  6. This isn't even a blind item, since it is from news story in Australia. The artist in question was Mos Def.

  9. That is so sad to hear! I love Mos Def and always thought he was one of the less arrogant hip hop artists. Boo on him!

  10. Thanks sunnyside1213 usually blind items aren't as obvious as opening up a newspaper and reading them yourself.

  11. It was a little more blind to those of us in this hemisphere. I only found one small blurb about Mos Def in an article up here.

In any case, that's so sad. I never thought of him as the type to do this, either.

  12. Great job Gossip

The morale of this story?? Hire legit trained actors who would be grateful to land this gig instead of ex Rappers turned actors with huge ego's

  13. I really don't know why this needs to be blind since it's IN the news. Why not just comment on it? At least we got a bonus blind, since this doesn't really count.

  14. The thing about performers getting an attitude---Smart kids realize that you EARN THE RIGHT to have an attitude through years of very hard work and being thankful that you get to do what you love for a living.

This story reminds me so much of Lea Michelle's shenanigans. They are certainly talented, but they keep forgetting they are 1,000 kids getting off the bus every day trying to take their jobs.

  15. I'm *really* disappointed to hear this. He did a terrific job on L&O, and I thought he was headed for a legit acting career. Louse.

  16. Char, I'm guessing the answer to that is that Enty didn't know it was in the news?

  17. Sorry its Mos Def...he's actually a very good actor.

  18. Mooshki, we all know the real reason that Enty didn't know it was in the news.......someone else is ghosting this blog for Enty.

  19. RocketQueen, the only one of those who have done Broadway are Diddy and Mos Def.

And Mos Def isn't a rapper turned actor. He is a legitimately trained actor who started out as a child actor. Rapping came much later.

And Montana Marriot, hiring a "legitimately" trained actor to perform rap concerts doesn't make much sense for the concert promoter or the person coming to hear the music.

  21. Aly, don't you think the new radio show kind of proves that it really is Enty writing the blog?

  22. Bubbles - thanks. I obviously didn't do a ton of research on each one. Was just throwing out names.

  23. What?!? Not MY Mos Def. That totally sucks! Boo on him!

  28. This is most certainly, Dante Terrell Smith. That homophobic, dead beat asshole that makes amazing music. I love Black Star specifically, but loathe Mos Def.

  31. Sorry to say but it you have worked with Mos Def it sure sounds like him. He is a great actor but it is hard for everyone else to sit around waiting for him to show.

  32. Sue Ellen - I didn't get one, but then, I didn't really want one in the first place. (Sorry, Amber, if you're reading this.) :)
