Valerie Betinelli's New Husband Allegedly Punched His 11 Year Old Daughter

Valerie Bertinelli might want to rethink the whole getting married thing to her new husband. Her new husband has a serious history of violence. According to records obtained by The National Enquirer Valerie's husband was convicted of beating his ex-wife and pinning her to the ground. He was also sentenced to 12 weeks of anger management for allegations he punched his then 11 year old daughter. Not slapped or held her down, but punched. Nice guy. He was also arrested after attacking some guy and ripping off his clothes. Oh, and he was also sentenced to 24 months probation for beating some other guy.

Apparently Valerie has not been beaten yet. Probably on his best behavior until he got that, "I do." I think one time can be corrected, but if you have repeated arrests and are hitting people like crazy, I tend to think it will happen again.

  1. I'm thinking that this guy has a large peen or something. One would think Valerie could reach a little higher on the totem pole.

  2. Some women are dumb enough to believe that they can change a man or "no, his wife was the agressor, he was the victim" and other ridiculousness. I am of the persuasion, a tiger does not change his stripes. Good luck Val

  3. This man needs to learn self-control. Who doesn't want to hit a bitch sometimes? I sure do. You just can't because it's not the right thing to do.

  4. They got engaged at least a few months ago. It would have been nice if the Enquirer exposed this after the engagement was announced. If she didn't know about it (oy), then she could have had an opportunity to re-think.

I know she has been gaa gaa over him for a while, but they just never seemed to "fit" as a couple to me. Didn't look like they go together, IMO.

  5. I am sure she knows all of it. After all of Eddie's antics. She must think this is normal.

  6. Geez.

I want to believe she had no clue.

At the very least her and Eddie's son is an adult now, so it's unlikely this creep will be pushing that kid around.

  7. @Cecelia:

The article claims she is aware of his past but has assured friends that he is a changed man and wouldn't hurt anyone. Oh boy. Good luck Val. I was hoping you had learned something after all those years of devotion to EVH.

  8. You can't tell me that female celebrities have no idea about the shady pasts of these men they end up with. These women have their finances and families to take care of so of course they have them checked out. If I can do an internet search to identify local sex offenders and I can check someone for an arrest record, then they can too.

  9. Oh, so she did know. Okay then, well we'll hear about this in her next book and it won't have a nice ending.

whether or not the NE is on the money regarding the story of his daughter, is anyone's guess.

this man has a record of violence. there's nothing alleged about it. abusers have to change the way they THINK. it has nothing to do with self-control.

  13. I hear you, Jax, but they do say they have the court records.

  15. Oh Valerie, no. Just no. This is not good news at all. Please annul this marriage while you can. You are just too old to play games like this.

  16. @klondyke

Sorry. I didn't fully form my thought. I think self-control AND changing the way you think are both necessary when you are an (alleged) abuser.

  17. Good God Valerie, run as fast as you can. It's only a matter of time before this looser beats someone to death.

  18. They've been together for 6 years. Either he really is a changed man or she's hiding something from friends and family.

I would like to think she wouldn't have married him if he hasn't changed. (Yeah, I know. Some women do marry their beaters.)

  19. ok, what I want to know is, did he go to therapy? we don't know what steps he has taken to change, do we? Also, can you change from that? Does therapy actually help? If not than what is the point of letting these people roam around free. Just curious. I've known several abusive people (unfortunatly) and I have all ideas therapy would NOT help. but thats just me and my cynical wastland of a past.....

  20. Well, this is disappointing. I kinda like her and hoped she was a) smarter than that, and b) was going to have a happy middle age.

  21. she strikes me as a 'fixer.' eddie was a big drunk and she stuck with him for years. i hope she knows what she's doing this time, but the red flags are already waving.

  22. shakey took the words out of my mouth...they've been together 6 yrs...eeep if she really is hiding something. :(

    ReplyDelete
  23. If all of those allegations were true then I'm sorry I don't know how she can close her eyes at night living with that guy. But Shakey makes a really good point, 6 years and no violence? He's either a not violent man or she's keeping it quiet.

by all means jax...don't let the door hit ya where your atheism split ya.

  25. Was thinking the same, shaky. She's had many years with the guy, so whatever he's about, she knows. What can you do?

  26. Those stories SCARE the hell out of me. Why would I ever want the sun to go down on me with a man who has manifested those stories? What is wrong with this world?

    ReplyDelete
  27. "Where your atheism split ya"??? LOL, I've never heard that expression before.

  28. ^ I think it's just meow's clever clever way of mocking the fact that Jax doesn't believe in god.

    ReplyDelete
  29. ^^ Still, it doesn't make sense, does it? For some reason, it tickles me, though. Nothing to do with anyone here, I just find the nonsequitur-ness of it funny.

  30. Never mind, I get it now. Just slow today, I guess. I'm a dork.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled commenting...

  31. people in this country are free to believe whatever the fuck they want. so it's ok for someone to take a shot at another poster here---who, by the way, said not a WORD about god?

well, next time you post to jax, meow, be sure to include me in your insult. don't let the fact that i don't care what YOU believe in stop you---just make it clear that you disapprove of my freedom of religion because it's different than yours.

it makes you look like the good 'christian' you think you are.

  32. If they've been together that long, why hasn't this come out before now?

  33. What @Delilah said. :p

  34. as another atheist (who personally was a bit taken aback at why Meow even felt the need to do a little personal dig at Jax's beliefs when we werent even discussing religon)
    I say ditt-fucking-o to Nancer

  35. Valerie does not have the best taste in men-look at her first husband.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I am quite surprised as Valerie seems very level headed for a 48 year old woman who has been around Hollywood for a long time. I read her "biography" and she did drugs right along with Eddie so I do not think she is as naive or as wholesome as her image implies. I truly hope she knows what she is doing, but for me any guy much less a father to punch his daughter and beat his wife....it is a no brainer...run for it!

the saying: don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya. so i tailored it accordingly.

    Hypocrite.
