Dancing With The Stars Cast

My initial reaction to the cast of Dancing With The Stars is that I have heard of most of them. But after reading it again, I realized that most of the world probably has not. It is one thing if you read tabloids or gossip sites and are familiar with the names, but if you are just a viewer of the show, you are probably going to say, "who the heck are these people?" Usually there is someone who will automatically be a viewer favorite who you can predict will win. I don't really see that person in this cast. I think if they can dance at all the best chances to win would be Kirstie Alley or Ralph Macchio.

• Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett
• Hines Ward
• Ralph Macchio
• Sugar Ray Leonard
• Chris Jericho
• Kirstie Alley
• Romeo
• Chelsea Kane
• Wendy Williams
• Petra Nemcova
• "Psycho" Mike Catherwood

  1. Ralph Macchio! Awesome! "Bonzai, motherfucker!"

Wasn't Nemcova rumoured to have a serious cocaine problem a couple of years back?

  2. One can only hope that Macchio, the original Karate Kid, really did learn some discipline from pseudo martial arts master Pat Morita so he can kick-ass during the competition!!

  3. Sugar Ray all the way!!!!!!!!! I love that man!

  4. I think Sugar Ray will go far, athletes usually do well.
Also, didn't Kendra make a statement about how shameful it was that Kate Gosselin joined DWTS instead of taking care of her kids?
I guess she changed her mind?

  5. I agree with the Sugar Ray guesses. I think he will go all the way.

I've never seen an episode of this show, nor do I plan to watch it, but I'm sure I will read about the winner on this site once it is all over.

  6. How is Wendy Wms going to do the show if her show is in NYC. I dont know where Dancing is done but I know its not NYC

  7. As far as Kendra I think one kid is easier to take care of than the bunch Kate has, plus Kate is just mean anyway. At least Kendra may be good for a wardrobe malfunction or two. I dread hearing her laugh for the next several weeks (or maybe not).

I've never been thrilled when the line-up is announced, but I always watch every episode.

If it's true that Maks is partnered with Kirstie, I think those two are really going to clash.

  8. Imagine being the individuals who have to design/fit costumes for Kirstie, not to mention assist her with makeup and hair.
    Shudder....
There are six people on this list that I would not recognize if he or she was standing in front of me.
I hope Ralph Macchio does well, but I won't be watching except maybe highlights.

  9. I have been in love with Ralph Macchio since I was a kid. Just turned my kids onto Karate Kid and they loved it of course. Can't wait to see him. He guest starred on one my favorite shows-Psych. Love him!

Looking forward to Chris Jericho, Chelsea Kane (Disney cutie.) Kirstie should be good for laughs. Kendra will probably be really good as will Sugar Ray. I don't know any of the others except Petra-who I am sure will show us the horrible footage of the tsunami again.

  10. Last season I did weekly recaps for another web site for this show & enjoyed it quite a bit. But now the web site is gone & I was thinking about doing my own thing, but with this cast...I don't know. I don't know half of these people and there is no one I really want to root for. But then again, maybe that will be a cool thing because voting will be more about the dancing than the individual for once. I'm torn. I was really hoping that Sig Hansen from Deadliest Catch would be on, as I know he's wanted to do it for awhile but the scheduling has been an issue.

  11. I admit it, I watch every single dancing show that's available. I'll be watching even though I don't know, or care, about most of them. My money is on Hines Ward. I think he's got some moves left in that body.

  12. At least the playing field is a little more even this time around, no 80-year-old astronaut vs. 25-year-old trained dancer situation.
    A dancer called "Psycho?" Interesting...

  13. I don't even watch this show, so I don't care about the winner, but I'm gonna throw my support behind Macchio in honor of the fact that I just watched The Outsiders again for the first time in YEARS... "Gotta do it for Johnny!"

  14. I am SO crazily excited that Wendy Williams is on this. Girl, she is going to get so much gossip from behind the scenes. I love her.

Borg Queen - Wendy said on her show today that her dance partner booked a dance studio near her show studio in NYC. Sounds like she's going to be traveling back and forth.

I don't care that I don't know many of the stars. I just love seeing the transformations and the costumes and the gaudy fabulosity of it all. This show is my guilty obsession. So much more uplifting than crap like Jersey Shore.

  15. Stay gold, Pony Boy!

I love that movie quote, so you'll probably see me post it again.

  17. @MacVixen: That film is a classic! It was so well done that it's one of the few movies I've seen that I actually enjoyed more than the book.
@shakey: I'm laughing right now because when I saw that first post, those exact words popped into my head!

  18. @Robert. Yes! I had forgotten how much I absolutely loved that movie until I saw it again a few weeks ago! And so much young 80's talent - especially my Emilio *sigh* So, so, soooo much better than his crackhead brother, but I digress... Loved me some S.E. Hinton in my youth - my favorite book was That Was Then, This Is Now, but I don't think the movie did the book justice.

  19. @MacVixen, I was a huge S. E. Hinton fan, too. I read all those books to death. I must have read "Rumble Fish" a dozen times. That was my fave. That was another movie that didn't do the book justice. Really, even the movie The Outsiders didn't do justice to the book, and it was a really good movie.

On the DWTS topic, I've never seen it, and this cast won't get me to watch either. They are playing pretty loose with the word "Stars" aren't they?? I don't know who half of these people are, and I read gossip sites.

  21. Hmmm, Petra went to rehab not long after hanging out with Sean Penn. Now ScarJo is hanging out with Sean Penn...has ScarJo been acting loopy lately?

  22. MACCHIO!
    MACCHIO!
    MACCHIO!

  23. I usually only recognize about 1/2 of the cast.

    Wendy Williams will be entertaining.

I predict at least one dance by Macchio to Peter Cetera's Glory of Love.

  24. My pick is for Chris Jericho to win.
