I'm Tired Of Jersey Shore And They Want A Raise

Does anyone actually watch every episode of Jersey Shore? I don't mean like if you are sitting around on a Saturday and MTV goes through an entire season in an afternoon. I am talking about making sure you are in front of your television each week to watch it or record it. Does anyone do that? I have watched about ten episodes of the show. Give or take one or two. Here is how every episode has gone so far.

Afternoon - Ronnie and Sammi fight while Snooki and Jwoww go shopping. Rest of cast making dinner

Evening - Ronnie and Sammi fight while cast eats dinner

Night - Ronnie and Sammi fight and everyone in cast goes to same club they always go to.

Late night - Ronnie and Sammi fight (usually these are the best fights) and everyone else in the cast smushes.

Late late night - all the women smushees are kicked out.

Now, to star in this activity, most of the cast wants raises. This is to go with their raises from last season and the one prior to that. I don't blame them because this is it for the show. Italy will be it and I am grateful. I wonder if Ronnie and Sammi will fight on the plane over and get kicked off.

  2. I've never watched an episode and if God is on my side I never will.
That being said, just what I'm exposed to by proxy is more than I want to deal with.
Hasn't their 15 minutes finished yet?

  3. It wore off for me after the 1st season. One too many fat jokes for this fatty.

  4. Sigh... never watched one of their shows and never will. IMO They are all lucky to get a dime for their lack of talent.

  5. I started watching last season and really enjoyed it. Halfway through the current season, I started to bore of it, mostly because I'm so SICK of Ronnie vs. Sammi. This should definitely be their last season. Every episode is the same now. There are still some really good zingers and funny moments, and I'm hoping they'll have their asses served to them in Italy.

  6. Reality TV is the only way they could make that much cash from doing such stupid shit.

I watched 5 minutes of it once and had to turn it off.

Come to think of it, I wish all the Jersey TV would go away. I don't have to turn on the TV to watch that trash. I sort of live it every day via my trashtastic neighbors. Barf.

  7. "That's it, we're done." "That's it, we're done." "That's it, we're done." A co-dependent nightmare.
Anyone remember Madonna's less-than-cordial reception in Italy on the "Like A Prayer" tour? Something tells me a similar fate awaits these guidos and guidettes when they visit the old country.

  8. Exactly, Robert. Exactly. On both counts.

  9. I've watched every episode within a day of its airing, except when I was on vacation at a friend's house and he was opposed to the show on principle. (He's from New Jersey, and he has good taste -- those were his two reasons.) I understand that people don't like the show, but I love it.

Julia Kristeva theorizes that reality television like this (she was talking about the French Big Brother show) allows for a new kind of public space, a new kind of Öffentlichkeit, to use the Habermas term -- a media-saturated younger generation that has no faith in the industrial West, no hope of having a life anything like what their parents had, so they turn to drink and time-wasting.

Also, I love JWoww. When she does one of her catastrophic breast adjustments, I am virtually knocked to the floor. And I have a crush on Ronnie, sad to say.

  10. I watch it Thursday nights most of the time. Thursdays is our night to sit around with out kids and watch trashy reality tv shows (on Fridays we sit around and make fun of Canada).
I am sick to death of Ronnie and Sammi fighting.
I don't think they should pay these guys an extra dime. They need to bring a whole new group on and start over.

  11. I think it's about time for a good Where Are They Now -- Reality Star Edition. It would be a nice to see how many of these guys have any sort of career. They can't all just be living off of their earnings, can they?

  12. @Barton Fink - Ronnie?! Really?? Ugh, he's such a MEATHEAD. The temper, the plugging of toilets, the anal bleeding...

  13. Sounds yawn-arific.

  14. I would NEVER watch this show. My co-workers LOVE it and sitting in front of the tube the moment it airs. I'd rather scrape gum off the tables at a Denny's then numb my brain with this shite.

  15. Never watched a single episode and never will. Don't care, couldn't be less interested. I don't need to watch tv to see white trash (or in this case, spazzatura bianco), I see enough of it in everyday life. That's also the reason why I don't watch Teen Mom.

And to add on to that - this season, I have been completely floored by the horrible violence towards women that MTV just lets happen over and over again without doing anything about it. Ronnie throwing all of Sammi's stuff out through the window and then SHE is the one that has to leave? Horrible.

  17. I never could understand what they were saying. But somebody's watching it.

I'll admit it too, I love it. My husband loves it too. We both hate reality tv but this show is such an awesome trainwreck. They are just so delusionally stupid that I can't look away.

They don't really pretend to be anything else but what they are, greasy guidos/guidettes who live to party. It's way less fake than all the other shows.

That did sum up everything that happens on the show.

  20. ˆˆPretty much what anita_mark said. This season was rather boring. Deena was a welcome addition though. Vinnie has become a true douchebag. I'm interested in seeing the Italy show but wasn't Ronnie arrested before? I doubt he'd be able to go.

And what Robert said about the co-dependency. Sammi killed me when she said she was "so done with that kid" for the last time then she asks, "So are we broken up?" Huh? He's angry because you kissed some guy before you met him and remained friends with him? And you need to ask if you're "broken up"?

I don't think those two should be back on the show. And dump that after show. It is truly awful.
