Casey Anthony And The Gas Cans

Was anyone a little confused yesterday about George Anthony's testimony? I don't have time during the day to watch what is going on in the trial so read summaries or watch quick videos of the Casey Anthony trial. This whole gas can thing yesterday was interesting. Prosecutors have said that the duct tape found on the gas can matched the duct tape found on Casey's mouth and that it was extremely unique. George Anthony said he put the duct tape on the gas can after Casey returned the cans to him with one of the caps missing.

So, if Casey did duct tape Caylee's mouth, did she return the duct tape? It sounds like the area where these things were kept was locked and Casey didn't have a key. Did she break in to get the duct tape? I know she got the gas cans after Caylee had gone missing and had to break in to get them. At that point, her dad says he called the police to report the break in even though he guessed it was Casey. When she gave him back the gas cans, one of the caps was missing so he used the duct tape to seal it. Is this the same duct tape Casey used on Caylee's mouth? How did she get the duct tape?

  1. I believe Casey used her fathers duct tape to cover Caylees mouth and nose, the tape was distinctive because the brand name was printed on it facing out, I noticed it was marked good to or effective to 200 degrees.
This could be an important clue because Florida's weather is very hot and humid, so you would want the tape to stand up to heat or cold.

The defense seemed to be trying to anger George on the stand and imply he had access to the tape thus making him look suspicious.

Also the pictures Baez used had not been previously submitted as evidence and this got him reprimanded by the judge.

  2. I think these types of posts are not conducive to a successful gossip site.

  3. Maybe she took the roll of duct tape the same time she took the gas cans. And maybe George buys more than one roll of duct tape at a time.

  4. I have been following the case testimony on TV rather closely.

You state "It sounds like the area where these things were kept was locked and Casey didn't have a key."

I have heard it mentioned a number of times that the area where George Anthony stored his gas cans was kept locked.

At no time did I hear it mentioned that he kept his duct tape locked up in the same area too.

  5. first of all, we don't know that the tape was locked inside that shed. most people i know keep it in the house.
i'm sure the state will deal with this. but one thing i DO know, there's no reason to wrap duct tape around a child's nose and mouth 3 times if she's already dead. it's more likely to me that casey knocked her out with chloroform, and put on the tape so caylee would never wake up, and she wouldn't have to look into her eyes while she killed her.

  6. This story is so sad. I hope the jury sees right through her.

About the duct tape. It would make sense if he kept it in the shed with other tools and his gas cans. It kind of counts as a "utility item" of some kind, since it was a special grade (high heat resistant) and all.

  7. Also - why did she borrow a shovel from a neighbor when George testified he owned 3 or 4 shovels? She didn't want him to notice one of the shovels had been used or been moved.

And as a former cop, if George had duct taped Caylee, he's smart enough to know to get rid of all evidence he ever owned that duct tape, or any other.

  8. just another point i'd like to make. let's say the made up fairy tale is true. so her precious little girl, who she adores, is dead from drowning.

so her reaction is to just leave the house, go move in with her BF, rent movies at blockbuster, go to hot body contests, spend the day in bed with her BF, and just party down? how much sense does THAT make?

  9. Does anyone know what the defense said happened after the supposed drowning? Are they saying that George and Casey buried the body in the woods?? This is such a strange and tragic story but so far there is no case 'beyond a reasonable doubt'. Although most people believe she did it, there are a lot of conflicting stories and hearsay - this jury is going have a hard time.

  10. I really hope Caylee gets the justice she deserves.

Isn't duct tape something most people keep handy in the house? Not locked in a storage shed?

Enty, I realize you are very busy but it really bugs me when you write Casey when you mean Caylee. I think most sites are mixing up the names & it just seems so disrespectful to Caylee.

  11. So does Casey think she looks better if she says her Dad knew too. Really, that doesn't make her innocent.

  12. There is a roll of duck tape in my house and one in my car (it fixes a multitude of things that can go wrong). Many of my family members know where my duck and electrical tape are kept (and they have my house keys).

  13. it's been speculated that Casey killed Caylee in the house and then used the duct tape and put it back where it was. Which is why george had to put on the gas can's and then the posters he hung later on that month

And I say YAY enty for covering this case - i love to hear your take on it and read others opinions, along with my usual star gossip! xoxox

  14. Ardleigh - you know it's "duct" and not "duck", right? lol

And could someone just take Casey, duct tape her in a car and throw her in the ocean. (I, of course, want the car to be removed from the ocean once that deed is done and that crazy bitch is shark food.) I have no tolerance for baby killers.

  15. I agree with Stacey, I am glad ENTY is posting about this. I don't have time to follow it either, but find it fascinating and I like reading everyone's opinions on the trial as well.

  16. Temp, that's was Perez Hilton is for. Blech.I like that Enty posts a lot of human interest and criminal cases as well as gossip. It's not like he just relaunched the site with a new spin, it has always been this way.

  17. ^ I agree! I love that Enty changes it up & doesn't post soley about bottom feeder celebs. Some of these stories are just as interesting to discuss.

I've already stated my thoughts on Casey but all I know is I don't think I even want kids but when I see Caylee's sweet face in the news, all I can think is "I would have taken her if you didn't want her." when does it get SO bad that the only alternative is to kill your spouse/significant other/ child???

  18. Maybe Casey went to the same store her father bought the duct tape from? Seriously...if the father was able to purchase the "unique" duct tape, then I'm sure Casey was able to purchase it in the same area/store too. How unique can duct tape be? It's also possible to purchase more than 1 roll. My father had a couple in the garage, and a couple in the kitchen cabinet. I have the same duct tape at my apt that my father used growing up. It's just familiar to me. The silver duct tape. Casey killed her child and the father and mother had nothing to do with it....end of story.
