The Mariah & Nick Drug And Alcohol Investigation Is Still Open

I don't think California has ever investigated anything Lindsay Lohan has done this much. Last week, I kind of blew off talking about the allegations of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon drinking and using drugs in the hospital after Mariah gave birth, because it just seemed like a hoax and some person just trying to get some attention Almost a week later though and Child Protective Services is still investigating. Apparently Nick got really upset when the investigators came out and basically aggravated a situation which should have gone away quickly. So, the investigators had to come back out and will have to make one more visit to the couple and their home to see if they are abusing the twins. First of all, I am guessing Nick and Mariah have barely seen the twins since they were born, except by maybe webcam. Don't you get the feeling that the twins are being cared for by a fleet of nannies and that Mariah will only want to play with them when the mood is right and when there is a photo op? As much as I want to believe she will be a hands on mom, I just don't see it. She is not going to be a Jennifer Garner type mom. Heck, I don't think she will be a Christina Aguilera type mom.

  1. A colleague of mine who works with Mariah's assistant filled me in - Per nurse's orders, Mariah drank a small amount of Guinness in order to stimulate milk flow for the twins. Some shady hospital staff sold and misconstrued the whole thing...sick.

With all due respect, no one knows how well anyone will parent until the proof is in the pudding. Susan Smith was as homey and dowdy as they come and many probably believed she was a good mom. Until the real truth was uncovered about her murdering her kids.

  3. Enty, your post is all over the place (as is your lack of punctuation, but I digress).

I assumed that Mariah gave birth in NYC where she lives, but if she delivered in CA and the state of California wants to spend tax payer dollars investigating the parenting skills of Mimi and her poodle of a husband instead of Paris and LiLo's wrong doing's, so be it.

  4. Something tells me that Mariah is going to be a good parent, actually. She seems to really want to be a mom.

  5. I have heard from others there is a benefit in having a small amount of beer when you are breast feeding, to get is started. Plus, she has two to feed. I would also imagine she was on appropriate pain killers (i.e. drugs) since she had a c-section. I can't imagine what this bogus shit is doing to her post-partum psyche.

  6. I actually believe this has been blown out of proportion (the small amount of Guinness to stimulate milk production sounds legit). Poor Mariah. But what else can you expect as a celebrity? There's always going to be someone who wants to make a buck off you.

  7. I think she'll be a good mom, too. Judging by all the blinds leading up to the pregnancy, she wanted this BAD.

  8. I think the entire thing was blown out of proportion by the tabs and Nick's reactions kicked it into an even bigger feeding frenzy.
As for their parenting skills, we're going to have to wait 18 years or so for the tell all.

  9. So many kids suffer and even die and CPS claims to be overworked, understaffed, etc., but, they can harass Mariah? Beer and wine does help with breastfeeding, get over it and go help some poor child locked in a closet.

  10. She worked really hard to have those kids and I believe they are both thrilled. Some people just love to make something of nothing. I was told to have a little beer in the evening to facilitate nursing - it's no big deal.

  11. When does CPS override medical advice? If Mariah were given drugs by her physician and passed that to the babies, no one would think twice.

  12. You are totally allowed to drink while breastfeeding. The rule if thumb is if you can drive you can nurse (so essentially one beer or so so a night). Additionally even if you had a vaginal birth you are on a ton of pain killers for a couple weeks ( depending on severity of damage etc ) after delivery and it is fine to breastfeed.
The fact that she is trying to breastfeed speaks to her dedication as a mom. Breastfeeding, for many moms, especially those of twins, is quite difficult. Kudos to her!

  13. Breastfeeding twins is hard. I couldn't do it so I pumped breastmilk for my twins for 6 months. I pumped for 30min after every feeding around the clock. It was exhausting. So I must give props to any Mom with multiples who breastfeed. That is dedication.

  14. I had a tough time producing milk for my son so the doc prescribed Guinness. It really did work, though perhaps it was psychosomatic (allowed me to relax and stop worrying about milk production.) Either way, I believe Team Mariah.

I think she'll be a great mom. She sure went through enough to have these kids. And look what a great mom she is to Nick!

  15. It is the yeast. You can make cookies to stimulate your milk production and they have brewers yeast in them.
Making a huge generalization people in the US ( yes, I am American ) get all puritanical about alcohol during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, and even breastfeeding in public. I breast fed both my kids for almost a year ( until they self weaned) and I did it wherever and whenever, I kept waiting for someone to try to "give me a talking to" so I could give them my lecture on how they are perverts for looking at someone feeding their child as sexual. I must have had a "look" though because no one said a thing to me.

  16. I think that any person who files a false claim against someone to CPS should be liable to pay for all costs and other fines.

Someone called CPS on me just to be spiteful because they're a delusional asshole who thought she would actually gain custody of my son because she'd "come in and save the day"

She wasted everyones time and gave me a complex.

    in short, i hate people.
/cool story bro, my bad, sorry.

  17. Poor Mariah!! Ugh this is awful. I hate this story. I know she's a diva but nothing levels the playing field of humanity than giving birth (vag or C). It doesn't matter who you are, your IQ, anything. That shit is no joke & then for this to happen??? Awful. I hope she is okay.

  18. You can't really blame Nick for blowing his top, either, given what they were going through - all kinds of people poking their noses in on them to get gossip. That's a lot of stress for both of them to be under.

  19. I don't know what the reality of this situation is.. but everyone here seems to have bought Nick's kool-aid about the hospital giving his wife a little beer to help w/milk production. That is a myth..

Wine does help w/digestion - but the hospitals don't serve that either.

Since an astounding # of children are being born to mothers under the influence or addicted to drugs/alcohol every day, many states have laws that allow drug/alcohol testing & the removal of the children while in the hospital if warranted. Fetal alcohol syndrome & meth babies are a huge reality. Having fostered some of these babies & seen the life long damage 1st hand, I say let CSD investigate, do their testing & punish the parents if warranted. Don't assume these are false charges just because you like the music.

  20. The allegations must be pretty serious if theyre still investigating.

  21. I feel bad. Kelly Ripa talked openly about drinking a Guinness a day when she had her babies, and she didn't get this sort of treatment.

  22. Oh God. This story sucks. First of all, how the hell can you judge someone on mothering when you don't even know the person? And second, the whole no-drinking while breastfeeding thing is such bullshit. I just drank 2 glasses of wine and will be breastfeeding my 6-month-old to sleep in about a half-hour. And, I do this a few times a week and he's perfectly healthy and normal and happy. And kudos to Mariah for attempting to breastfeed twins, because breastfeeding takes up like every second of your day, especially when the baby/babies are first born. Seriously, I was ready to jump out of the window and rip my boobies off the first month with my one really-good-sleeping, minimal crying baby, so god bless Mariah and her twins and all mothers of multiples. Yeah. I think I need a third glass of wine.

  23. This whole Mimi birth has been weird. It sounds like she had the twins vaginally, because the daughter was first and the son second with quite a few minutes in between. That does not happen with c-sections when both twins are out in seconds and the order is not recorded. Check out Becky Romajan Lettuce and JBlow for their twin c-section births.

As far as investigating the beer, why is my f**cked up state wasting my time on that?!! Geez, no one cared about octomom having her litter on my state's dime, but Mimi is going to be investigated? PLEASE!! No wonder California is bankrupt.

  24. It's standard issue for a little beer to get the breast milk going, if it's needed. She's already on pain killers. Why illegal drugs?

I'm thinking someone sold a tabloid story.

  25. thisoldbroad, Nick didn't say that Mimi was actually drinking, he said that a nurse suggested to her that she drink, and that discussion was overheard by whoever made the report.

  26. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt until more comes out about this. Seems like it could have been blown out of proportion.
