I saw conjoined at the head twins the other day at CHOP. i'm not sure if they share a brain or not.

Obviously Harry Potter ending is a national tragedy and we should all, on a global scale, get the day off to enjoy the movie (im not kidding i'm looking forward to this like christmas & Hanukkah rolled into one)

but I wanted to post that I am FASCINATED that those two sweet conjoined twins can TASTE THE OTHER'S FOOD!!!!!! Whoa- Im just super struck by that fact for some reason.
Well, Enty was half right about the twins. They don't technically share a brain- but there are pathways between their brains that allow them to share sensations and even see what the other sees.

ReplyDeleteIt's hard for us singles to comprehend, but many adult conjoined twins say they wouldn't be separated even if it could be done safely. It's what they're used to, they are happy and couldn't imagine life any other way.

I just have to be a brat for a moment and say AH HA! We get Harry Potter two days before you here in Australia on July 13th! And actually because of the time difference it's 3 days earlier!

ReplyDeleteHuge Potter Con in Florida around the premiere date of the movie 7/15 and I am going!! Doing midnight in Universals Harry Potter park. I dont want it to end.
ReplyDeleteChecking the theater every day to see if tickets are on sale for the midnight showing of HP yet...along with about 10-15 of my good friends (all teachers at a Jr. High). So sad it's ending...but can't wait for the film!

@ RQ - It helps me get over the Halle envy when I recall that she wasn't born with all that perfection and has had at the very least a rhinoplasty. (And so have Scarlett Johanssen, Kate Hudson, Natalie Portman, Megan Fox, Angelina, Gisele, et. al.)

ReplyDeleteRIP Mark Haines indeed. I usu. have CNBC on in the background when I get ready for work, and I swear it was just last Friday when he was giving one of his choice cranky rants. People used to make fun of him (e.g., Doesn't it seem like he tied on a couple of gin rickeys before going on the air?), but the dude absolutely knew his stuff was the first to call it when the market bottomed out in March 2009.
