Estella Warren Charged With A List Of Crimes

Here is an interesting fact from the Estella Warren debacle last month. You know when she embarrassed a police station full of police by slipping out of her handcuffs and out the door while dead drunk? It turns out that since she had not been booked yet, that it does not count as an escape and she was not charged with that crime which would have been the biggest one against her.

The District Attorney charged Estella with drunk driving, resisting arrest, battery on a police officer and hit and run. If she were convicted on every charge her total maximum time in jail would be 2.5 years. So, in Los Angeles, that translates to about 60 days, but with good behavior, over crowding and a good lawyer, the County is going to make a deal with Estella where they will pay her not to go to jail and buy her a bottle of booze.

I think she is realistically looking at probation and some community service which she has plenty of time for. It is not like she is actually working. Well, working on movies. She does have a different kind of job.

  1. If I was a police officer who witnessed this, I think I might have let her go. That's a talented drunk. Albeit, the hit & run part.

  5. It's actually sad, because she really isn't THAT terrible of an actress -- considering how she began as a mannequin who didn't really do much at all. I don't think she's culturally disposable (rosiehuntingtonwhiteley), is my point.

A gorgeous girl starts modeling at thirteen or so, moves to L.A., probably gets unceremoniously used by dozens of dirtbag men, gets in severe trouble with the law while her career is way past its prime, *and* she's hooking on the side? It sounds like a Lifetime movie you might randomly come across on a Sunday afternoon.

  6. It's a tale old as time, out of work actresses profiting on their looks and at one point fame by escorting for international billionaires, NEEEXTTTT

Ah, California statute #7.2-1986: If you are drunk, fairly useless and have any amount of celebrity, the law cannot prosecute you for anything.

Go on, Estella...thank Lindsay for the Lohan Clause.

  9. I see I'm not the only one who has no idea who this trick is. Feels good.

  10. she was supposed to be the Megan Fox for Planet of the Apes but she makes Megan look like Meryl Streep when it comes to acting.

She has a few years left on her looks might as well give it up to russian billonaires except heavy drinking doesn't change the fact you're a paid whore.

  11. it's as clear as day to me that the entertainment industry has a deal with the 'law' in L.A. nothing happens to these people. it's a 'wink wink' deal between them.

you really just can't see it any other way.

  14. I was just commenting to my husband the other day on Plaxico Buress and Ja Rule and how they were sentenced to 2 years for gun possession. I was like, wow, NY is no joke when it comes to this charge. Plaxico served most of the sentence too! 21 months of it. In comparison, this woman could get jsut about the same amount of time on 4 charges? Good for NY.

  15. Okay, okay, okay. She's a shitty actress. :-) She wasn't too awful on an episode of SVU I watched a few years ago, but that's not saying much. She's NO worse than Fox, though. C'mon. Or Love-Hewitt or Johansson, for that matter.

I just can't be smug when a girl has to turn to prostitution. Unless she's enjoying it? And then, uh, more power, I guess...

  16. @ timebob

The very funny thing is that it was discovered when she was arrested that she was actually eight years older than what she previously claimed (she was born in 1970, not 1978). She's got very good genes.

  17. @Ida - does anyone *have* to turn to prostitution? I think not. That's her choice. The McD's down the street is prolly hiring.

  18. @Rocket Queen -- I guess I should say I think it's sad when a girl *feels* forced to turn to prostitution.

Either way, she's a blip on the pop culture radar. Whatever.

  19. Should change her name to Estella Warrant, lol.

She was everywhere when the Apes movie came out, magazine covers, etc. She was supposed to be the next best thing, like Gretchen Mol.

  20. FIGDSS grabs another victim. What is FIGDSS? Why it's Former-It-Girl Downward spiral syndrome and it has claimed Tara Reid, Jamie Presley, Loser Lohan and now Estella.

And is it just me or is there a striking resemblence betwen her and Rosie Hungtinton-Whiteley?

I loved how she slid out of her cuffs - but she's a model - they do have skinny wrists.

  21. So Ent, is she the madam running that business of d-listers-turned-pros or is she a worker bee? Nice reveal.

She used to live with JD Whatever who sang with INXS.

  22. This is a reveal. I know I remember one about a foreign born actress who had another gig in the world's oldest profession on the side.
