Gawker compiled the best of Mariah Carey on HSN, including the tidbit she was 47 weeks pregnant when she gave birth.

  1. 47 weeks. Omg no. That's awful.

  2. She was clearly on something here... if she didn't have so many nannies, I'd just attribute it to the lack of sleep that comes with having twins. Between this and having champagne sent to a bathroom, something is up with her.

  3. With TWINS? No, not possible. They're usually early, like 36-38 weeks. Weird.

  4. If you guys watch the video, it's pretty obvious that she has absolutely no clue what she's talking about; she wasn't actually pregnant for 47 weeks.

  5. I was thinking the same thing, Cathy. Her personality seems very off, even for her. It's even harder to watch the video if you do it without sound; then you can really see the weird body language/movements.

  6. I don't have volume, so I'll have to take y'all's word for it! Mimi has always been a little....off.

  7. OK, MC is back, that chick was loopy and self absorbed like the good old days, lol.

  8. I'm sure it felt like 47 weeks. . .

And Selma Blair might beat her for longest human gestation. I've been on vacay, has she given birth yet?

  9. Not possible. You are generally always induced if you haven't gone into labor by 42 weeks, and that is with one baby.

    Multiples come early.

  10. Gah! She acts like she is the first person to ever give birth to twins. Seriously? Imagaine how much harder it is when you don't have a staff of nannies and housekeepers to keep everything going for you. I hate it when celebrities have babies and act like they are the first to ever experience it. Get over yourself Mimi.

    Stepping off soapbox now.

  11. I suspect she meant to say 37 weeks. Still, she may be on medication. I had a very long hard pregnancy with my second and they kept me medicated for a bit to help recovery. She kinda has a history of issues and the hormonal changes might be causing some trouble, thus medication. Who knows. She does seem sincerely grateful for the twins. Thats always nice.

  12. She starts off loopy, but then around the 1:40 mark, it starts to really seem like an SNL parody...

  13. ITA Patty!

And I could actually only watch a little over 1 minute before I had to stop it.
Her weird, chaotic self entitled/delusionally privileged ass just left me feeling slightly overwhelmed and annoyed.

It made me remember how Kathy Griffin said that meeting her is like being sucked into crazyland. She is just nuts.

But I will say this: I saw at least one pair of butterfly earrings that were slightly cute

  14. Exactly what Rose said.

I had twins and went only 36-1/2 weeks. They told me that they don't like to let women pregnant with twins go past 40 weeks because it's dangerous for the babies. Lack of room and amniotic fluid, from what I understand.

    Mariah is delusional.

  16. People, 47 weeks is 5 weeks shy of one year and nearly 2 months overdue. This girl is an ignoramus of epic proportions.

  17. I'm sure she didn't really mean 47 weeks. I'm more inclined to think she meant 37, but who cares really? This is Mariah Carey we're talking about here, not a doctor.

  18. This is Mariah at her 'stinky cheese' best. Even when she's shlepping her crappy stuff on HSN she wants everyone to know how hard her life is and how much strength it took to get thru those 47 weeks! It's all about her all the time.
She really is the ultimate diva.

Personally I didn't think she was on something. I think that's just the really Mariah. She's not too bright, and it comes across as high as a kite.

  19. ^ At least she's pretty?

  20. She came off as mommy tired. I realize she probably has round-the-clock nannies but maybe she still spends a lot of time with the babies?

  21. I also couldnt watch the whole thing. But I seem to remember stories amongst the comments about moms who went way too long, and the drugs meant to induce labor just didnt work? Not saying that is what happened here, it was prob just a mistake, but apparently inducing doesnt always work

  22. Hilarious!!! She actually looks tired to me.

  23. Second everyone else's comments about twins and early birth. Doctors get antsy about one baby being more than 42 weeks, I cannot imagine they'd let someone with twins go more than 42. Low fluid levels, no room for the babies to move...

And even if the induction levels didn't work, that's what c-sections are for. I am totally in favor of no interventions, but 47 weeks with twins? Man, you can cut me open then.

  24. I was 2 weeks overdue and my younger brother (by 21 months) was 3 weeks overdue. My brother peeled because he was literally overcooked, but he has always had lovely skin. My mum was advised not to have any more as she held onto us for too long. I am 42 years old, just so you have a time line.

  26. when i was preggers with my twins, i made it 36 weeks, which is about average for twins...i did a good job being lazy, you see ;)

but seriously, conditions in your womb begin to degrade after about 42 weeks, so no way in heck would a doc let her be go 47. i think she may have been exaggerating...or maybe she is still on the wicked awesome pain pills they give you after a c-section! wwweeeeeeee!

  27. She is a piece of work, that one.

    Dahling...she sounds like the Countess.
