Anne Hathaway Raps - Hates Paps

Apparently Anne Hathaway has a love affair with rapping and hates paps so on Conan last night she combined her two beliefs into one disturbing video.

  1. You know you're lame when you're copying Gwyneth.

I will say something nice, however: I love her dress.

    There.

can't stand her. why did i watch the vid?

  3. The description sounds so unappealing and embarrassing that I can't bring myself to watch it. I guess I don't care about her enough.

  4. OK, now I know her audition was the best out of all the actresses thus the reason she got the role as Catwoman but this chick just has no sex appeal to pull it off imo

  5. You are nicer than I Ida. I can't say anything nice about this woman. She bugs me sooooo much I can't even stand it. She's not particularly cool, hip, fashionable or beautiful, yet she is portrayed as all of that. Blech.

  6. @MacVixen -- Well, I'd definitely say that I dislike her as much as you do.

My (wonderful, sweet, and hilarious male) friend went to Vassar with her, and she was apparently a COMPLETE primadonna bitch the WHOLE time. So that's always colored my opinion of her, as well.

@Montana -- Agreed. Catwoman needs to be SEXY, and Anne is ANYTHING but alluring. You know who I think should have played her this time around?

Gong Li. I think she's the most gorgeous woman on the planet, honestly.

  7. I thought I wouldn't be able to watch but I ened up finding it kind of dorky in a cute way. I don't really have any strong feelings about Anne Hathaway *L*.

  8. I thought it was good! I don't think it's easy to sit on a sofa in front of an audience and a camera and belt it out like that when you aren't a singer.

    I hope she isn't a bitch, but I'm sure it's likely.

  9. @Ida B: Gong Li? Yes, please!

  10. Christian Bale must think she's sexy...the gossip is they were hot & heavy during filming...

  11. What is it about her that is so off-putting? For me, it was being commanded by the industry to believe that she was the greatest ingenue who ever lived, that she was the central star of her generation, that she was the greatest film star since Norma Desmond. It was like being told that Bridget Fonda was "redefining sexuality for the nineties" as the PR used to go, or that Chris O'Donnell was a major star. Or any of the third-rate kids that the industry periodically tries to force us to love. I just can't stand Hathaway, and her drugged up shyster boyfriend thing was about it for me.

  12. I don't have any feeling about her one way or another-but it must be hard to be in front of an audience and do that. Then I think of her being naked through most of Love and Other Drugs, and she definitely held her own in the Devil Wears Prada...anyway,
lanasyogamama-she is actually a wonderful singer. Remember when she sang with Hugh Jackman at the Oscars? Youtube it.

  13. Well said, Barton Fink.
This is one of the few days I'm glad I don't have sound on my computer here at work.

  14. I thought it was cute. I like her.

  15. Barton Fink I think you pretty much nailed it on the head for me. that just about sums it all up.

  16. @MISCH: Bale and Hathaway allegedly had an 3 weeks affair in England in a Lainey's riddle .Except Bale's family was with him since the begining of the filming and even TDKR stalkers don't report a close relationship between them

Hathaway tries too hard, she's almost annoying

  17. She is a singer, I remember when she sang with Hugh Jackman. Sigh...

  18. I almost didn't watch this because I didn't think I could bear it, and I can't believe I'm about to say this for I, too, have equal disdain for her...but that was funny. And endearing.

I can't believe I just said that. *shame*

  19. girltrav--good point! I do love her in Devil Wears Prada. I think partly because I loved the movie so much. Opposite for Love and Other Drugs, I can't appreciate the performance properly because I hate hate hated the movie.

  20. HA! I thought about sending you this last night while I was watching Conan.

  21. I fast-forwarded straight past that to get to Jason Momoa.

  22. It's sad to hear that she was a bitch at Vassar because I've always liked her. This bit, though, is a complete ripoff of the SNL-originated "watch a celeb go gansta" meme.

  23. Ida, Gong Li is the most beautiful woman on Earth, no contest. I have friend of a friend who went to high school with Hathaway and she was a heinous bitch back then too.

    ReplyDelete
  24. She's got talent, but I agree not a lot of sex appeal. I don't find Christian Bale appealing, on the inside or out so if he finds Anne sexy that must mean something. Gong Li looks amazing, especially for having 15 years on AH.

B Profane, I thought Natalie Portman did a much better job on SNL too. I hear she's a bitch as well though.

  25. Sometimes it's a professional necessity for a woman in the biz to be a bitch, and I don't think that should be held against them. Tina Fey comes across as the nicest person in the world and a sweet mommy type, but even she says that she's a bitch backstage when she has to be. Obviously, there's a gender double standard.

But if you're a bitch and a primadonna in college, eh, not so much.

  26. Totally thought I'd be cringing in embarrassment for her but...I liked it. I think it's because she did not hold back, she totally went with it.

  27. I was gonna say Anne will be the worst Catwoman ever, except then I remembered Halle Berry. But I have no doubt Anne will be the second worst. She has no sex appeal at all. Halle doesn't either-she is beautiful but not sexy. Is it really so hard to find a sexy chick to play Catwoman, FFS? (I used to think Angelina Jolie would be perfect for the role but she has gotten too skinny and gaunt now.)

Rose-hooray! Another gal who doesn't think Christian Bale is all that. I loathe the guy. He's a bully, and IMO he isn't half as hot as he's made out to be.

  28. I think she is sexy. She also looks like a normal woman. That adds to her allure as she seems real and many of us have dated a woman with her similar features in our lifetimes. I’ve never even seen live a woman that looks like many of the teenage boy models running around Hollywood.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I've figured out why I think Anne Hathaway's face looks a bit goofy.

It's because her major features—eyes, nose, and mouth—all look too large for her head. They're all a bit oversized and the resulting effect can be quite comic.

yahtzee paparazzi ? what are we 12 learning iambic pentameter ? it was almost good except for that and Perez Hilton probably got a hard on when he heard her say his name...

  31. I liked since that unfortunate day wen my niece forced me to take her to the Princess Dairies. Cant say that I fought to hard about it since Julie Andrews was there.

As for Anne, I haven't heard anything bad about her. Even if she was a diva at school, she can't be pushing that sort of attitude in Hollywood where she still getting jobs.

    Lindsey = no jobs

Anne Hathaway = which movie WASN't she in

I didn't hate that either. It takes guts to do that.

  33. Thanks to those of you who tried to explain the Anne Hathaway hate. I never really understood it, and I can't say I do now, but I appreciate the attempt.

I'm not a big fan or anything, but I like her ok.

  34. I've liked Anne since the Princess Diaries days, but I've gotta say, those commercials for hew new movie, where she's got a British accent are really getting on my last nerve!

  35. Sorry haters - i thought she was pretty good!

  36. It was funny when Natalie Portman did it on SNL, but it seems too desperate here. Then again, it's been a rough day and I'm crankier than usual, so cannot be trusted to judge anything or anyone right now.

  37. @Fun Flood: Anne Hathaway had actually said the same thing about herself herself, and to a certain extent it's true.
