Today's Blind Items

Kind of obscure, but shocking. Really shocking. I actually thought about making this not a blind item, but then decided the woman is entitled to her privacy. The story should come out in the next few days and there will be enough detail for everyone to know I was first, but I just can't be the first to give the woman's name. Anyway, this D lister who has been in one documentary in which he starred and has had several appearances on television as his character is getting divorced. So, where is the shock? Well, the shock is that his soon to be ex says that he raped her and also fears for her life and the life of their cat when he is around.

  1. Sacha Baron Cohen & Ilsa Fisher?
Who ever this is, how awful!

  2. This sounds like a reality person.

  3. i would think Isla would worry about the life of their 2 kids before she would worry about her cat...

  4. I wouldn't say Sacha Baron Cohen is D list. Other than that, I got nothing. Counting on the rest of you to come up with some good guesses.

  5. Russell Brand, Katy Perry (and Kitty Perry)?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Andrew Dice Clay. Just read something about him and having a career resurgence. He was recently married. His whole persona is a character and I think he was on Entourage. Was he in a documentary?

    ReplyDelete
  7. I thought Andrew Dice Clay too, but his character is divorced on Entourage. Also, I don't think he has been in a documentary.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Dice Clay. No way is Sacha D list.

    ReplyDelete
  9. no way russel brand, he does movies..

    ReplyDelete
  10. That horrid Andrew Dice Clay is my guess, as well. It's definitely not hard to imagine a man who's built his whole entire career around misogyny thinking he can rape his wife.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Jason Mewes? He's known best for acting in Kevin Smith's films but I think someone did a doco. about his struggles to kick junk and I think he has done some TV work as his "Jay" character.

  12. Based on the "kind of obscure" comment, I think we're in the world of performance artist, not big (or once big) name stars.
    My guess is Reverend Billy.

  13. God..I hope not Sacha Baron Cohen. He's also been in 2 documentary's...and had more than several appearances on TV, because he used to have his own show. Hopefully, not him.

  14. I don't think Enty meant his character is getting divorced, I think he may mean "this person who has been in a doc and had several appearances on TV as his character, is now getting divorced (in real life).

    ReplyDelete
  15. Is Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me dude) married?

    ReplyDelete
  16. In certain circles Banksy is mega-A-list, although to Enty he might be D.

    ReplyDelete
  17. What Ida said. That being said, this blind doesn't purport to comment on whether or not the rape really occurred, or whether the claim may just be part of a bitter divorce. Sigh. Hopefully it's the latter, although false rape claims make me angry.

  18. Is Joaquin Phoenix married?

    ReplyDelete
  19. am I reading this the wrong way? It says "his character is getting divorced." I'm kinda confused as the guessing here makes it sound like this guy is getting divorced in real life. Clarify...I'm a tad slow today.

  23. @ Angie...I think its supposed to be read ", and has has several appearances on television as his character, is getting divorced".

    ReplyDelete
  24. i thought morgan spurlock too.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Michael Moore?
    Billy Mitchell (King of Kong)?
    Winnebago Man?
    Spaghetti Cat?

    ReplyDelete
  26. What pro wrestlers have had their own documentary?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Jason Mewes HAS had a documentary, is married, and has appeared as "Jay" on the TV show Degrassi (Jay and Silent Bob go Canadian, Eh? still makes me laugh)...but wouldn't Enty tell us if they had also been in movies? And, maybe this is my love of "Jay" talking, but wouldn't he be considered higher than a D?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Morgan Spurlock and Michael Moore don't have characters, they just happen to appear in their own documentaries.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Mark...completely agree. Plus Morgan has been in more than one of his documentaries.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Lori -- Good analysis, but it's not a stretch to think that Enty would leave out clues that would make the BI too obvious, given the potential for criminal prosecution. I would say that Mewes is C-list but given his marginal film career and protracted struggles with drugs, an agent/publicist type might consider him D, and that seems to be Enty's standard of ranking.

  31. Here's how the sentence should read (i.e. with punctuation).

Anyway, this D lister, who has been in one documentary in which he starred and has had several appearances on television as his character, is getting divorced.

No one really knows Banksy's identity. If he were getting divorced, we would be none the wiser. In any event, I think Banksy would be above D list.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Jason Mewes has alot of stuff in the works, I doubt it is him.

I vote the Dice Man, cause he annoys me.

    ReplyDelete
  33. "No one really knows Banksy's identity. If he were getting divorced, we would be none the wiser."

    This.

I can see it being Mewes, too, though it's WAY easier for me to see it being Clay (because, um, I hate him). Mewes and his wife work closely together and he seems to be on a better path. Clay married his makeup artist in 2010 after only dating for a year or so.

And I think the mention of the cat is sort of an implication that the couple is childless, for some reason. I know I'm reaching, but that's just my own analysis.

I just don't *want* it to be Jason. :-( Can it be Andrew, instead? Pllleeeease?

  35. I'm going for Clay. Originally, I checked Wiki, but IMDB indicates that some of his concert "films" were docos.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Completely clueless, but Russell and SBC are not D List by any stretch of the imagination.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Russell is way too famous.

It has got to be Andrew Dice Clay, he was in a documentare called Andrew Dice Clay: No apologies and appeared on Entourage as himself, right?

    ReplyDelete
  38. I kind of like the Dice Clay guess, BUT, Ent would have mentioned his film roles, poor as they are.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yeah. Russell Brand is soooooo *not* D-list. I'm inclined to think that he and Katy are an A-list deal, and it also seems as if they're NEVER together.

@Pookie -- that's an interesting tidbit about Katy! I wonder if there's some big news coming from her camp. I also have to say that I appreciate how she seems to have female friends and how she supports women in general. And I just can't dislike a woman with a cat named Kitty Purry. I just CAN'T.

Back to the original topic: Dice ALSO appeared on Married with Children as himself. I'm sure that he popped up on other shitty eighties sitcoms, but that was the first one that personally popped to mind.

And, again, I just don't think it's a big stretch to imagine how a man who's made millions from telling jokes about rape and otherwise treating women like total shit could be an abusive dickbag in real life. An act only goes SO far. I'll bet that even Sasha's got a little bit of Borat in him...

    ReplyDelete
  40. I can't think of anyone on documentaries. We're not talking Reality shows right?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I wonder, would Andrew Dice Clay be considered shocking? That said I really don't have any better guesses.

I just hope this poor woman gets herself and her cat to some woman's shelter and gets the hell away from that guy before they both end up dead. I mean, even if a woman's shelter wouldn't take her pet, I bet an animal shelter could help her out temporarily. I can't imagine a more hellish situation! I sure hope she gets help before it's too late.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Pauly Shore. I'm just guessing Because he's been annoying people for 20 years now. And he did makes that movie "Pauly Shore Is Dead."

    ReplyDelete
  43. Am I the only one who thought of Larry the Cable Guy? The Blue Collar Comedy Tour was kinda shot documentary style (maybe a stretch) and he does appear in character on TV...

    ReplyDelete
  44. won't anyone think of the kitteh!!! [

    ReplyDelete
  45. oooohh.... that Larry the cable guy guess isn't bad at all

    ReplyDelete
  46. I don't think Larry The Cable Guy is D-List, considering how much he sells.

    ReplyDelete
  47. What about Christopher Knight? Surreal life as documentary, multiple appearances as a Brady? The blind doesn't say that the divorce is a suprise, but the allegations. We already know he's getting divorced, but no details yet as to why.... Maybe Adrienne Curry has some dirt?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Anonymous3:42 PM

I think it's Hulk Hogan. Had a documentary made about him and being a wrestler the violence would come easily.

    ReplyDelete
  49. What about Mr. Brainwash -- the Banksy creation?

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm with Brondie63 - Christopher Knight/Adrienne Curry

God, if it's him, this will really ruin my habit of watching old Brady Bunch episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Oh whoops. Didn't see that Brondie63 had also suggested that duo earlier. Great minds.... :P

  52. @crila16 -- I pity the fool who thinks such terrible things of my Mr. T!

Were any of the Jackass guys only in one of the movies? (Were those docus?)

I just read something about ADC where he said he's totally not like his persona and that he loves his wife very much.

    ReplyDelete
  53. In case I need to clarify:

    Documentary, television, d List & rape x 2 (3?)

Which would make me sad, I was rooting for his 're-incarnation' :(

    ReplyDelete
  54. I was thinking Michael Moore too. That whole rape/marriage thing is scary. If it's Adrienne Curry, she's a drama queen. She should be very careful to 'tarnish' Peter Brady's image, (or what's left of it after his 3rd marriage.) Yes, the last sentence is a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  55. If there is any possible one one could construe Tron as a documentary, then I vote for Bruce Boxleitner and Melissa Gilbert. Everything else fits.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think Chris Noth. He was promoting a documentary last year, his character on Good Wife is getting divorced. He's definitely D list. He also got in trouble a few years ago with some sexual misconduct.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Unlike Sacha or Russell (who are NOT D-listers, come ON) OR even Andrew "Dice" Clay, Michael Moore doesn't play a "character" -- he portrays himSELF, and spews forth his OWN thoughts and opinions. That tenacious fat dude with the baseball cap isn't some carefully constructed act -- it's just MM being his own, mouthy self. Whether or not you agree with the guy, his ego is plastered ALL over his work. He's also been married since 1990, so if he's a rapist, those proclivities have only recently emerged -- which seems unlikely.

He is also NOT a D-lister. Nor is Morgan Spurlock. They've had gigantic successes in the past decade, and nearly everyone at least knows who they are.

Enty gave us *great*, unambiguous clues (for ONCE). This is a person who has APPEARED in a documentary -- not just someone who's promoted or financed one.

And if "The Surreal Life" could be considered a "documentary," it's no wonder why the rest of the world thinks that Americans are a bunch of morons.

And TRON is fucking awesome -- but it's not a documentary either, sadly.

It's totally The Diceman. Watch and wait, doubters. I'll bet Enty reveals this one as soon as he can.

    ReplyDelete
  58. If it is Andrew Dice Clay...I wouldn't be shocked though. I'd be shocked if it were Peter Brady, but then again as someone else mentioned, Adrienne Curry is a drama queen. Another reason I don't think it's Peter Brady, is because he wasn't just on TV a couple of times playing his character, he was on TV for years in a TV series playing his character.

It's got to be someone who doesn't have kids if the wife is only worried about a cat. Unless the D list guy's character is a famous Dog that eats cats.

    ReplyDelete
  59. @crila -- I'd like to think that rape will *always* shock and abhor me, regardless of who the perpetrator might be. It would even shock me if it were Mike Tyson -- despite his previous convictions -- seeing as how he DOES seem genuinely apologetic for his asshole behavior back in the eighties/nineties.

And if Peter actually DID rape Adrianne, I'd say her "drama queen" personality would be justified. And I don't think that being dramatic should ever make a woman less credible in her testimony. Drama does not always equal dishonesty.

But Peter has never starred in a documentary. Again: I HIGHLY doubt The Surreal Life or My Fair Brady count as docs in Enty's world. Or, at least, I sure as hell hope they don't.

And a woman who has children would also hopefully care about the welfare and safety of her pets, too, but I think Enty would have mentioned children in that blind -- that's why I think the inclusion of the cat indicates how the couple is childless.

If this IS ADC, I'm proud of Nora Dunn and Sinead O'Connor for recognizing what a prick he is back during his heyday and protesting his SNL hosting gig. He got away with saying a LOT when I was a kid -- I remember being about seven or eight and being scared and horrified when I caught a few minutes of his act. He is completely, pathologically, terrifyingly hateful towards women. He makes Howard Stern look like Gloria Steinem.

  62. Like I said before. If it were Andrew Dice Clay, I wouldn't be shocked or surprised. If it were Peter, I'd doubt the validity, because Adrienne has been known to be a drama queen and exaggerate and make stuff up for attention.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Ben Stein: appeared in the creationist documentary "Expelled," played variations of his "Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?" character on "The Wonder Years" and other shows.

    ReplyDelete
  64. @crila -- "If it were Peter, I'd doubt the validity, because Adrienne has been known to be a drama queen and exaggerate and make stuff up for attention"

    *SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH.*

Yes. We should ALWAYS discount rape victims who've had a flair for the dramatic in the past.

Well, I wouldn't worry about ol' Drama Queen Adrianne, seeing as how her soon-to-be ex has NEVER APPEARED IN A DOCUMENTARY.

    ReplyDelete
  65. @Sybarite : no way is Chris Noth D list...He is on a big show and for many women will be refered to as Mr. Big for life.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm going out on a limb here - Morgan Spurlock?
