Wife Stands By Her Husband - Despite Him Trying To Kill Her Three Times

Yvonne Stern might want to have a talk with someone about what her husband is really like. The mother of two and wife of Jeffrey Stern is convinced that prosecutors are wrong when they say her husband tried to hire hitmen three different times to kill her over the past six months. She is standing up for this guy. Jeffrey and his girlfriend have been accused of conspiring to hire someone to kill Yvonne. She refuses to believe it even when everything is put in front of her.

This is the crazy thing. After the allegations came to light she filed for divorce which of course is the right thing to do if your husband is trying to kill you. Then though they got back together so she withdrew the divorce. She blames it all on the girlfriend.

In February 2010, there was a drive by shooting at their house. It was unsuccessful so in April 2010, a man knocked on the door and when Ms. Stern answered it, the man tried to kill her through the door and the shots missed her. So, again in May, a man approached her in her car and pointed the gun at her head. She begged him not to kill her so he shot her in the stomach and she played dead.

The girlfriend has admitted her role, but the husband has not and his wife is right there by his side.

  1. I'm not sure that is love, it sounds like a dangerous addiction to me.

  2. Denile is more then a long river in Egypt.

A shot to the stomach can be deadly too.

  3. YOU HAVE CHILDREN YOU DUMB TWIT! Get out of this relationship and go somewhere that you can keep your children safe. PS, the word 'girlfriend' is a deal breaker for most women, especially the ones that are MARRIED.

I swear women like this make me angry, they provide fodder for the types that believe that women are just too dumb to exist on their own.

  4. There is something wrong with this woman, the judge should have her evaluated.

  5. That's depressing.

  6. Co-sign MISCH.

I mean, even if it is the girlfriend and not the husband, why would you want to be with a guy who not only has ladies on the side, but ladies that are really trying to kill you?

  7. Her love may be strong, but her stupidity seems to be stronger.

If he admits everything, she'll say he was coerced.

  8. What Misch said.

Does she want the "evil troublemaking girlfriend" raising her kids?

  9. I know some people believe that love includes forgiving all transgressions, but I don't know if it should go to the extreme of forgiving them for attempting to kill you and getting shot in the stomach. To most people, that would be a dealbreaker.

The truly sad thing is her children are seeing this messed-up example of a relationship and probably being taught by their mother that this is what love is.

  10. UGH-
I know this is wrong to say, and I do feel sorry for the woman, but GOD do weak women like this give all us women a bad name!

The phrase 'stay by your man' is synonymous with old traditions of letting your man dominate and dictate to you. Women are oppressed because of our patriarchal system- true, but you have to fight it- sheesh!

Women who are completed by the men in their lives and live for them alone (which I think many housewives are) are more susceptible to being walked all over. This woman is an extreme case but I think if she had a life outside her husband and kids maybe she'd have more strength to see the bigger picture- that she can survive and even thrive without a man in her life.

  11. Warming up my bitch slapping hand...What a stupid woman, he cannot be that much of a prize. There is no trust so there is no damn marriage. WTF is she thinking? Take the damn kids away before he decides to wipe out all of them.

  12. She deserves whatever happens to her if she stays with this guy AND drinks the Kool-Aid after three attempts on her life!

  13. I totally agree, Jasmine. Weak women make me depressed, I can't stand hearing about it. You just want to slap some sense into them.

This is so beyond mere weakness though, I feel awful for this woman. Something is up...I wonder if her parents are alive? Mine would beat the hell out of my husband if he tried to KILL ME!

  14. Did this guy go to the Acme Academy to Learn How to Kill Your Wife? Three times and you can't even complete it, tsk tsk.

Maybe there is a prenup...or maybe, he has threatened her with something even worse, like taking her kids away from her, her home, etc. that she is afraid to say anything negative about him in public. I was married to someone who cared more about his image than anything else, and find this to be a believable scenario.

She is definitely the exception to the saying, "the third time is the charm."

  17. Three attempts, and she's still here. Give up, dude, it's just not her time to go.

  18. i happen to know inside scoop on this case. she knows he's cheated---she caught him in the act 5 years ago and forgave him. now he's sweet talked her into believing him again.

she's an idiot. and she likes being married to a guy who can pay cash for an 8 million dollar house in aspen.

  19. Wow! She's a poster child of battered wife syndrome. Or maybe he performed a lobotomy on her some time ago? The dumbshit needs to get the hell out of dodge!

  20. Maybe Mrs Buttafuoco should counsel her on blind spots & lessons learned.

  21. Wow, everyone here really turned on this poor woman. I think it's sad and obviously she has some emotional issues with which she needs to deal. I don't like when women turn on each other in these situations. Be compassionate. When people feel judged it only backs them further into their corner and it keeps them in abusive situations longer.

  22. I'm pretty sure compassion went out the window after the second botched attempt. I feel for her parents and family, they must be worried sick and there is nothing they can do for her.
This is exactly like that Amy/Joey/Mary Jo triangle, I guess they don't remember those folks.

  23. Let's pretend for a moment the husband is innocent or the murder attempts (uh huh) -

He still cheated and if the girlfriend acted alone, he brought a psychopath into her & their children's lives.

That's waaay more than enough to get the boot.

  24. @nancer - well, yea, but it would be hard to enjoy your house in Aspen when you're dead.

    I don't get it.

  25. I have been following this story since the failed assassination attempts, search of the husband's law office, then subsequent arrests of him & his girlfriend (who started talking & naming names as soon as the police got a hold of her).

But I had NO idea Yvonne is actually staying with that psycho! After 3 attempts by inept hit men, how long until the sleezeball husband or his girlfriend actually manage to hire someone who knows what he's doing & kills the wife?? Why has that not occurred to her?

(All this chaos is occurring in Houston BTW)

  26. Wow...she's dysfunctional and in major denial. The fact that the husband has a girlfriend, still, even after she's been trying to kill his wife 3 times...kinda tips you off that he's most likely part of it. I don't understand why the guy doesn't just divorce her or even just separate from her. Then he can do whatever he wants.
