MMMHop Beer

If I told you there was a new beer about to be launched called MMMHop, who would you think you created it? Well if you guessed the brothers Hanson you would be correct. Isn't it amazing that as you see MMMHop or MMMBop that you can immediately sing that song? Damn that song was catchy. Considering how many kids they have, I think a family business would be good for the brothers. Put all those kids to work. The beer, which is going to be an IPA is going to be released next year. In an interview with the NY Daily News, the brothers said they are going to make records still, but really wanted a way to get some free booze in their lives and to find a way where they could get hammered every night but make it seem like to their wives they were actually working. Oh, wait, maybe that is what my reasoning would be if I created a beer. I would not mind having my own tequila or vodka. I think that would be great. Just my luck though that if some company wanted me to endorse a product it would be like wine coolers or something. I would have to pretend to drink them and like them and knowing that no matter how many I drank I would never get drunk and would cry myself to sleep knowing I was endorsing wine coolers. I hate the wine coolers that pretend to be booze but are still the same liquor content as a beer. You find that a lot at places that only have beer and wine licenses.

  1. Good for them. Here are some kids who hit fame young, stayed grounded, grew up without any scandal and turned into normal adults who are still productive on their own terms.

  2. they have like 10 kids each. They need to diversify to make a living.

  3. i agree with patty that its nice to see some kids that had fame NOT be all messed up. i also have a husband and brother that are EXTREME beer connoisseurs so I think this endeavor is interesting, but I think think should have chosen a different name. i know they are trying to make it obvious who makes the beer, but some people may not take it seriously then either. it'd be different if they named it something else, and then ppl drink it, like and then go "wait who makes this? those MMMBop kids? no shit....." cuz by then they drank it and liked it.

  6. Those boys. That picture does NOT do them justice! I was completely amazed at how good looking those boys turned out to be. They've certainly grown beautifully into their buck teeth and big ears! Back then, only one of them showed the promise to be pretty, but now, he's the least pretty of them all! And that's saying something.

One of my BFFs is obsessed with these guys, sees them in concert still, so weird. That said, they seem like good guys. And I do love a good IPA.

  8. I love them. What can I say? I was a slave to pop music in the 90's and still am. I really like their music, too. I cannot believe I said that.

I actually did a barefoot walk thing with Hanson about two years ago in San Diego, CA. It was a public invite the afternoon before their concert at the House Of Blues.

It wasn't a large crowd but maybe 100-150 fans.

They walked with and through the crowd, posed for a few photos with people, but mainly kept moving through the crowd seeming like they wanted to at least say hello to everyone.

At the end of the walk, we gathered at a grassy spot and Taylor addressed the crowed, speaking about why we were walking 1 mile barefoot and such. Zac happened to be standing near me and my sister so we asked if he wouldn't mind posing for a picture with her (then) infant son. He happily obliged. My sister has been a die-hard fan since Mmmbop, so she was over the moon.

These guys seem like genuinely nice people and I can't want to get some MMMHop. #MMMbeer.

  10. Bwahaha, timebob! They have seven kids among the three of them. ;-)

I'd try it, but I don't care for IPA.

  12. They have too many kids
    it's creepy

Maybe it's all the blonde hair and aryan features but they give me a Children of the Corn vibe.

I'll be passing on their shtick-sounding beer.

  13. I hate IPA's, so I won't be trying it, but good for them for their little business venture. That song reminds me of freshman year of college, although I would have NEVER admitted liking it. :)
