Terrence Howard Calls His Wife A Violent Racist

According to new court documents obtained by TMZ, Terrence Howard is fighting back against his wife in their divorce battle. In previous filings Michelle Ghent accused him of being violent and threatening to kill her just seven days into their marriage and would repeatedly beat her. Despite this she stayed with him for over a year.

In his current papers, Terrence says his wife is a violent racist and that she would call him the N word and also a monkey and other racist remarks. He also claims that she said that she never wanted to marry a N word in the first place and certainly does not want to raise N step-children. He also claims that Michelle threatened to have Terrence killed by the Russian mafia. When you read all of this you have to step back for a second and ask yourself how these two ever loved each other and wanted to spend the rest of their lives with each other. This is crazy.

  1. Wasn't he arrested a week ago for spousal abuse? And hadn't Enty hinted on his cheating in the past?

I guess that is his retaliation plan. I don't know if I believe that a woman who had been sleeping with you for years and helping you raise your kids could be racist. Maybe I'm wrong...

  2. F-Terrence Howard. I believe 100% he is wife-beating prick. I had the pleasure of meeting him decades ago at a club where my boyfriend worked at. I refused several drink offers from the prick stating I had boyfriend who was working at the club that nite. Terrence made a ridiculous scene at the club. He and my then-boyfriend got into a verbal altercation and suffice it to say I never heard the end of this.

  3. I think he is crazy.

I also think that in the heat of battle she may have chosen words that would sting the most. I don't think that would make her a racist, just a dirty fighter.

  5. @Borg Queen - Am not surprised! How awful for you though. He sure expects all the women to fall for his pretty face easily!

  6. if he beat her, which it sounds like he did, he needs SOMETHING on his end to counter that. calling her a racist and bringing his children into it, is his best bet for any chance at getting sympathy. what else can he say that would make ANYONE feel bad for him or make anyone else relate to the anger that would cause someone to abuse their wife? so, there must be police reports or other evidence that he can't deny.

I agree with Patty. I can think of a few heated arguments in my immaturity in which I said the worst possible words that came to my mind.

@Kelly - Terrence was in "Crash" a few years ago. It took home an Oscar for best picture that year.

  10. He was also nominated for something important for his role in A Pimp's Life.

  11. I find it hard to believe that she would marry him and then in a heated argument say the N word about him and his chirrens. He's using the most inflamatory language he can to get back at her because he got busted being a bastard. It is a common tool that tools like him use and it's very obvious.

  12. I have to disagree. In heated arguments I would never stoop to use awful words like that. Ever. I'm surprised that people would think that that is acceptable behavior.

I don't believe Terrence however. He's a known abuser and frankly, a smarmy individual. He's using this to try to garner sympathy. I have none.

@Unknown: I didn't mean in imply it was acceptable behavior - it's not and I lost a few great boyfriends being this stupid and immature.

Shoot, I ask that about all KINDS of marriages, not unusual at all!

  16. Does anyone remember the recording of him threatening this random guy that completely accidentally left Terrence's wife a message? Apparently the guy misdialed his wife's phone and got T's wife. When Terrence found out he called back and left an apologetic message. But that first message was a doozy!

  17. The race card and calling someone a Nazi is the last rung of desperate people who have no more facts to fight with.

  18. I'm on team Brakewater. And playing my Old Bat card here: he's lying like a rug. Unless he's got her on tape saying all this, he's making it up. Louse.

  19. I have to agree with Unknown. Even at my angriest I have never stooped to using such unacceptable language. People that allow those words to come out their mouth do so because on some level they believe it to be ok.

Let's assume for a quick second and for the sake of arguments that the wife did, in fact, say those things to him. Here's my question.. How the hell do you marry a Jesse James or Michelle Ghent and NOT realize you are with a racist asshole? Unless you got married after knowing the person for 48 hours one would assume that such feelings would be apparent.

I didn't say anything about calling someone the n word in a fight is ok or normal, OR that she did say that. Just that she might have called him ugly names. :)

  21. Altho I am taken with the "Russian Mafia" thing. Like they'd care. But it's original.

  24. I'm with Unknown. No offense but those types of words wouldn't even cross my mind in a heated argument. If one were to easily use them when pissed off, I would have to assume that they really did use those words...even in their head.

But I highly doubt that she would date him, marry him, and THEN it would come out that she was totally racist. Usually doesn't work that way.

  25. Ever since he was thrown out of the Iron Man franchise, his career has been in a spiral. If Red Tails tanks as expected (why else release it in January?), he's headed for the straight-to-DVD ranks.

  26. He is just batshit crazy. Does anyone remember his thing about women using baby wipes? If you want to be with him you had to know how to use baby wipes. He is klassy with a capital "K." He is just another douchebag like Sean Penn.

  28. 1) His Academy award nomination was for Hustle & Flow.

    2) Terrence has a history of domestic violence. In 2001 he was arrested for threatening, stalking and assaulting his ex-wife Lori. He broke down the doors and was punching her in the face. Only his brother and the cops stopped him. Of course in the good old days he was pled out to a lesser charge. Sorry I can't link to it. It's at The Smoking Gun.

I've heard this about him for years. Combine that with threatening to slit the throat of a man who mistakenly left vocemail on his wife's phone, well I'm not buying it. He seems dangerously unstable.
