The Zooey And Joseph Gordon-Levitt Make A Duet

The Zooey posted a video to her website of herself and Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing Nancy Wilson's, "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" Apparently Zooey Deschanel and Joe are amazing friends. As in spending their lunches dancing to Marvin Gaye together in the hair and makeup trailer. Hmmm. How much should I say? For now, just enjoy the video.

  2. Love these two.

OT - the chick in the red dress to the left of the screen in the advertisement for Tulle has been bothering me for awhile now. The bottom of her foot looks dirty to me and for the life of me I can't figure out why they didn't photoshop it. Once I noticed it, it became all I could see about the picture. ( I have the opposite of a foot fetish)

  3. Adorable. They are so cute together. I have always loved Zooey's voice. Gordon did a great job too.

  5. Enty, that was an early reveal wasn't it? LOL

  6. Big Momma - I suffer from the anti-foot fetish syndrome also. Yes, her foot has been annoying me.

Love the video. They are adorable together.

  7. The BF said they must be pounding last night after I showed him this video. I guess he was right.

    Whatever, they're cute together.

  9. Hair and makeup trailer?

I think they are sweet. I love the way he smiles at her.

  10. Yeah, definitely together. He's got a clear case of CSSS -- Can't Stop Smiling Syndrome. Check out the very end. Classic goofy expression. It wears off after the first month or so. Sad. I miss that phase.

  12. Zooey's affectations tend to bother me a bit, but JGL is perfection.

  13. Has everyone seen them together in "500 Days of Summer"? Such a good movie.

I'm not a fan of cheaters, and I've been known to "turn off" from actors when these affairs bust up marriages with kids involved (Leann & Eddie, Tori & Dean), but even I know that sometimes people marry the wrong person and it's nice when they can find the courage to face their mistakes.

  15. @BigMama & Mikey - I don't see a single ad (on any site, actually) since I installed AdBlockPlus. It really works. You know, in case you're interested.

  19. Thanks surfer. I'm going to look into that. Her foot is really bothering me.

  20. Yes they are super cute (his dimples blow me away) but it annoys me that you can cute your way into people not admitting your talents are mediocre (just the singing thing, they are both fine actors, by me). We shouldn't encourage them, really. Stop it with the singing!

  21. GODDAMN these two having STUNNING voices. WOW.

They are like superheros with their pretty looks, acting prowess and silky gorgeous voices that honetly sound better than 3/4ths of the music on radio RIGHT NOW.

They have to mate. For the good of the future superhuman race. It should be a law or something.

  22. Selock- no offense but you must be tone deaf. They have on-key fantastic singing voices. You're tripping

  23. Not offended but I have to respectfully disagree - I find her singing voice affected and ridiculous (so tired of it trying to sell me sugar substitutes or cotton or whatever), his is just thin as onionskin. Plus I didn't say "bad" or "offkey"...just mediocre.

  24. Watched it last night and just died. Too twee for her own good and I adore her voice in this song!

  25. They did another song/video before.

  26. What a couple of goofballs! He's probably following her around like a puppy dog right now..."I miss that phase" is right!

  27. well, i don't think she's a mediocre singer at all. she's better than half the morons i hear who can supposedly sing. her voice is natural, pretty and HER OWN. it's not all synthesized. love it.

completely agree. It's not the worst that I've ever heard, but it is definitely not good.

If those two mated, the world would explode because their baby would be too adorable for one planet to contain it. Seriously, these two are the most adorable people on earth.

  30. I think her voice is so old school, it sounds like it should be coming from and old grammaphone.
Also, that gave me sypmathetic (but lovely!!) butterflies in my tummy, just like i think JGL is feeling!

    ReplyDelete
  31. elle - YES, I remember that phase... *sigh* He is totally into her.

    ReplyDelete
  32. umm, are they both lefties or did they record it in a mirror?

    just askin'

  33. OH. MY. GOSH. If you haven't seen Joseph in "Hesher" you MUST go rent it. RENT IT NOW!!! Fantastic movie!

  34. I think this was adorable in a nerdy-cute kind of way. Just because she doesn't do American Idol-style vocalizations doesn't mean she has a bad voice. It's perfectly suited to retro and folky songs like this one. Joseph Gordon-Levitt makes a good match for her.

  35. Don't get me wrong, I am not into Autotune...I'm a fan of folk and such...but when she sings here, it sounds like an impression of David Sedaris' impression of Billie Holiday. I can't...LOL, but I am just teasing now. It's harmless. :P

  36. I absolutely love Zooey's voice, I first fell in love with it after hearing her sing on "Elf". I think they'd make an adorable couple.

    ReplyDelete
  37. she definitely puts on that voice. its not bad but i agree with @selock not her real singing voice at all.

  38. I did NOT know JGL could sing! He is adorable in every way. I'm kind of over the Zooey though, I have to admit.

  39. They are both adorable.

I really love Zooey's website (HelloGiggles). Apparently, they have been friends for quite awhile.
