The Herald Scotland Interviews Robert Pattinson

I think this could be the first time The Herald Scotland has interviewed a celebrity that was not named Ewan McGregor or Gerard Butler. I'm kidding. They actually snag a lot of celebrities. Free haggis. They interviewed Robert Pattinson and in the interview Robert was pretty blunt and honest and knows that no one would care about him if it was not for Twilight. I think eventually he would have made a dent in Hollywood. He is a decent actor and at some point he would have made it to a certain level, but yes, probably not where he is now. However, the people that should thank everything that is holy for Twilight are Taylor Lautner who would still be looking for work and Kristen Stewart who would be a nice character actress who gets killed as the first or second death in the latest horror movie. It goes without saying that every brother and sister would be looking for work with the exception of Nikki Reed. She would always work and probably do well. Anyone else that would do well? Anna Kendrick. Although I am beginning to worry that she might have been a one hit wonder with Up In The Air.

  1. Who am I, Rita? I am making all the first comments today. Weird.

Anyway, I have to disagree - I don't think Robert can act very well at all. He is weird-looking to boot.

  2. I find his acting unconvincing. He seems to smirk and smile at inappropriate times, and since he's become famous for being.'Edward', be seems to have this angst follow him. He never seems to be content with where he is, and comes across as though he just couldn't care less about his performance. Maybe its being around Kristen Stewart. Maybe being around him is what makes her so offputting... Maybe they feed off eachother (no pun intended.) Whatever the reason is, I hope he shakes it. You know what Momma says, if you make that face long enough, it'll stick.

  4. I never understood the hub bub for Anna in up In The Air at all. She was fine, but not Oscar worthy.

Anyway, I did like Robert in Water For Elephants.

  5. That there is your gut feeling Ent, she's definitely a one hit wonder.

Wonder if Edgar realized this too? Can you give us their most recent Random if you find one? Pretty please- with bacon on top? (and below and in?)

Anyone know if she went to the Oscars or if she took a date?

  6. @Turtle: i agree with you on Pattinson but i think Stewart can be good if well casted (i think WELCOME TO RILEY and her Joan Jett)

  7. I think they are Star Wars typecast. None of their films post Twilight has done anything compared to that Twi success. Welcome to the world of conventions.

I do think Kristen's Snow White might have a shot but it seems they are pushing Charlize as the star of that vehicle.

  8. Stewart can't act no matter how much her team is pushing and selling. That SW film is marketed around Charlize and not one word from the mouthbreather. I've seen her other films and she plays herself.

  9. "Mouthbreather" LMAO

  10. Agree with all of the talent except for Nikki Reed. Her acting skills are even worse than Lautner's.

  11. The truth is, the kind of people who go to see Twilight movies already new Rob from Harry Potter, so he already had a bit of a fan base. He may not have been as huge without Twilight, but I'd bet money that he'd have ended up in something else and been very popular, indeed.

Stewart did a fine job as Joan Jett. I haven't seen her in anything BUT Twilight and the Runaways movie, so probably can't judge.

Quite honestly, the writing, direction and production quality of the Twilight films is so incredibly bad, it doesn't matter who's in it or what kind of performance they turn in.

  12. the only reason Nikki Reed got cast was becuase Catherine Hardwick was the first Twilight director and worked with Nikki on Thirteen.

I do think that Niiki seems like the most down to earth member of the cast. The new interview with Ashley Greene in Lucky is just delusional. "I'm in this realm with a lot of highly respected actresses" geebus.

  13. I actually think his self deprecating humor is somewhat refreshing. Instead of putting on actor bravado and talking non stop about his 'craft', this is an actor who is being realistic about his big break.

I do think his management has been smart, trying to get him into different genres while his popularity is still high. I'm not sure how long he'll get leading man scripts unless he delivers after the Twilight obsessors grow up, though. I just don't think Taylor Lautner or Kellen Lutz or Ashley Green will be able to capitalize much further because try as they might, they do not have enough acting talent.

All of the actors from that franchise, however, will be featured on the 'where are they now' magazines for years. Hopefully, they are investing well.

  14. Anna K is good in 50/50 too, though I'm with others in that I'm not sure she's an Oscar-caliber actress.

  15. I always skip posts about him. boring.

  16. LOL Ms Cool! haha

And Agree Enty- Nikki is not only a talented actress but obviously can write a screenplay or two. She would have made at least a dent in HOllywood,no doubt.

And 'mouthbreather' should officially be the new way Kristen is always referred as. Brilliant :))

  17. I kind of disagree. I think Kristen would have still gotten somewhere. She's been acting since she was little. I just don't think she would have been as famous. But I think she would have had a decent career.

And I don't like Nikki Reed at all nor do I really care for her acting skills. She and Lautner were the ones that really stuck to me as "bad" actors.

  18. I think Rob's meh as an actor, but like flip said, he's so self deprecating, it's hard not to like the fella.

  19. I love Anna Kendrick, so I hope she isn't a one hit wonder. But I am extremely disappointed in her for being in the shiteous 'What to Expect...' movie. That monstrosity is a major crime against women.

  20. I think Elizabeth Reaser is a very good actress. Granted, she does not have much to do in the Twilight movies, but she's done a lot of great work and is well respected in the NYC theater scene. Also I really liked Anna Kendrick in Camp and Rocket Science, two indies that are worth checking out.

  21. No, Anna Kendrick was in 50/50 and I thought she was good. I like her, she makes a great "girl next door"

  22. I've never seen a Twilight movie, but Anna Kendrick was very good in both "Up in the Air" and "50/50", playing two different characters, but both displaying vulnerability. I like her, her range may be limited, but so was Cary Grant's.

There are a lot of train wrecks (Lindsay I'm looking at you!) who should lose out to Anna Kendrick for roles.
