Nick & Aaron Carter's Sister Leslie Has Died At 25

Normally I would not really devote a post to a family member of a D list celebrity who has died, but Leslie Carter (far left) always seemed fun and happy the few times I met her and I always think she struggled between trying to be a wife and mom and also wanting to be a singer like her brothers. Even though she got the golden ticket with a record deal, nothing really happened with it and after having one song on the Shrek soundtrack in 2001 her career never really went anywhere. In the last few years she got married and just about 8 months ago had a baby girl. I feel so sad for her husband and her daughter who will really never know her mother. At this point no one is saying how she died but if she died at 25, it is probably something tragic.

  7. I'm not positive but I think Leslie is the second from left, not the woman on the far left.

  8. I think the one on the far left is Bobbie Jean, then Leslie and Aarons twin sister Angel next to him.

  9. ^ so I'm not seeing things? Bobbie Jean is the short one, right? Dunno why Enty used a photo of Leslie with black hair...

  13. It's weird to sit in the Midwest and watch how Hollywood eats people alive. It's sad to me that she had a very real life and couldn't get past the broken dreams.
    RIP

  16. I'm so sorry Bunny.

This whole family seemed like a big mess on their reality show. I don't think they had a good childhood to start off with. I thought both parents weren't around. No matter the cause, her death is very sad, leaving behind a little girl who will never know her mom.

I guess this is the "third death" if you believe in that. Etta, Don, and Leslie.

  17. Thank you, Rose. I appreciate your kind words. The family must feel as if their very existence is in freefall.

  18. My niece, 21, died on a Christmas Eve, leaving behind her only child, a 2-year-old son. That son saved my sister's life; it was the only way she could cope with the death of her only child. The weird thing is that the father of the son lost his mother the same way--car wreck--when he was 2.
    Sometimes, life truly sucks.

  19. Oh, and Enty--no disrespect, but every death is tragic in its own way.

  22. Megley, I'm so sorry for your family's loss. I totally agree that the little one saved your sister's life. Same happened to my brother.

  24. Ouch

25 is no time at all

  25. So sorry for both your loses @bunny & @megley.

What a sad story this is. That reality show the Carters had a few years ago was a MESS. I think I saw one episode but all it was, was sibling rivalry at its worst.

My condolences to Leslie's family & friends.

  26. Thanks for the kind words. I wasn't trying to sound overly dramatic, but for a little while there, we were really scared that my sister might take her own life. Her husband still believes as do I that her grandson was the only reason she didn't. As it turned out, my sister was awarded custody of the boy and that snapped her out of her grief enough to get out of bed every day. They are both fine, now, but sometimes, it's hard to look at him and not cry for the loss of his mother. And that adage that it gets better, or easier with time, no, it doesn't. It just gets different. Leslie's husband has their child, and that is a blessing, even if it doesn't seem like it now.

  27. This is so sad. My condolences to everyone -- I know if it wasn't for my grandson, born three weeks after my mother died, I would have died too.

It never gets easier, Megley, you are so right. Just different.

*hugs* Just because there should be more hugs.

  28. If I am not mistaken she opened up for Aaron Carter when we saw him perform. Both were decent enough singers. Very sad.

  29. thanks Dixie and everyone. Megley, you speak from the heart. We were really worried that my brother would self harm or worse. But the baby saved him. His ex wife lives next door and has custody and everyone is tighter and closer than ever. But I will worry about my brother for the rest of my days.......a big sister thing!
