#2 - Back not so very long ago this then A+ list television actor guest starred on the number one show at that time which was on the air for many years. The actor was and is married at the time. His role was as the boyfriend of one of the characters. Well, while filming his arc he quickly ended up hooking up with this other actress on the show who is an A list movie actress now. That relationship did not break up our actor's marriage but it broke up her long term relationship.

ReplyDeleteI don't know much, but I do know one thing for an absolute fact. It's definitely without a doubt NOT Tom Selleck. My friend was his driver for 7 years. Tom Selleck is 100% gay. He does not sleep with women at all.

crila16, I've heard exactly the same thing, from waiting on a Hollywood type (probably a bigwig agent--LOTS of $$$) here in Indianapolis. He was tipsy and whispering 'secrets' to his two table-mates. He thought I was not behind him when he whispered his 'biggie' about TS. When he realized I was there, he turned so red and was so flustered that I KNEW he at least believed it was true.

ReplyDeleteI have to agree with crila16. I don't buy it being Selleck at all. To begin with he is a tv and film actor and I feel that distinction is always made with these BI's. He may be well known for his Magnum days but he is also well known for his numerous films from the same time frame. Also the BI says, "then A+ list" and Selleck wasn't doing anything at that time on TV. I'd say with that in mind he would be a B+/A list and also it seems to lead us to believe this actor isn't so hot anymore and Selleck is in that new show Blue Bloods and garners attention for guest spots. Third, the BI says "Not so very long ago" Selleck's arc on Friends was in '96, 16 years ago! I'd consider that definitely a long time ago. Finally, Aniston broke up with Donovan in '98 2 years AFTER Selleck was on friends. Sure it could have led to things falling apart 2 years later but how likely is that?

ReplyDelete@ J - I like the idea of Jennifer Aniston and Friends, but I've long heard that Tom Selleck is gay. Some other actors who guested on the show: Sean Penn, Bruce Willis, Ben Stiller, Charlie Sheen, Alec Baldwin, Danny DeVito (!!) and Jean-Claude Van Damme (TWICE the Van Damage!) I still watch Friends in syndication and I NEVER see the Brad Pitt episode. I wonder if Brad paid off someone?
Now, back to the blind, what does "The actor was and is married at the time" mean?
Why do we think this is Friends? I have to agree with uberbaldy, that was so long ago now. I'm thinking something more recent, let's see...

Oh I like the Gilmore girls guess but the only notable guest star on that show that could be considered A+ is Adam Brody who played the boyfriend of Alexis Bledel's characters best friend. Which could work with him hooking up with Alexis but neither of them fit the description.

ReplyDeleteI thought Tom Selleck quietly came out of the closet when he did In and Out with Kevin Kline? You know, it's a real shame that people are reacting like this, as if it is some sort of big deal or a big secret. Sounds like he is obviously out in Hollywood, and I don't recall him ever making anti-gay statements to give himself protective colouring. And despite his sex symbol status in the 80's, I don't recall him being touted as a ladies man, so I can't see why this is shocking news.

If we really are talking about tv shows that were number 1, within the last 10 years or so... it HAS to be Friends or CSI.
ReplyDeleteAnd since I wouldn't consider any of the actresses from CSI to be anywhere above B-list, and even then, ONLY in TV, definitely not movies... it HAS to be Jennifer Aniston. The only other possibility is that Enty is unaware of which shows are actually #1. Or perhaps he's only counting scripted shows (as the number 1 show since 2005 has been American Idol).
However, Friends was only #1 from 2001-2002... long after Jen and Tate Donovan had already broken up, and she was already with Brad Pitt. So... I can't explain this blind. There's no way to make it work.
What about Grey's Anatomy with Heigl as the A lister? Grey's was at least number one drama at some point during her run I think.

ReplyDelete@Mooshki and @Char It doesn't HAVE to be friends. The blind clearly says the A+ actor was a guest star who PLAYED a boyfriend on the show. That immediately eliminates American Idol since they don't have roles on that show. It's a scripted show that was #1. How about non-network shows such as The Soprano's or The Wire? Both have been off the air for at least 4 years and both were big hits.

So maybe it isn't Friends at all, it can't really be Seinfeld bc there was only one real principal actress on the show. I don't watch CSI so can't say. Err....
oooh @uberbaldy you have invoked the name of The Wire and I love you for that but I don't think anyone on the Wire is A list at the point nor do I think at the time of airing The Wire was ever very highly rated. It almost got yanked after S3 because of rating among other things. So if this is the Wire... I'm going to guess Omar & Kima :) but I'm guessing its not, at all. The Sopranos however... didn't Edie Falco get divorced while it was on the air or shortly after?
