Raffles Van Exel Cleaned Out Whitney Houston's Hotel Room

Apparently there are actually people in the world named Raffles. I'm guessing he might be named after the hotel chain or his parents won a television in a raffle the same day he was born, or being Dutch, they may have confused Ruffles with Raffles. Who is not a fan of Ruffles? They have ridges. Ahh, the power of advertising. Don Draper would be proud.

Anyway, this guy who calls himself an entertainment consultant, which I refer to as a hanger on who was good at providing certain things to celebrities they may not otherwise be able to acquire told De Telegraaf in The Netherlands that he came forward four days after the death of Houston and told police it was he who cleaned out the room and removed all traces of coke. Why? "It had to be done." I think he cleaned up evidence that others had been using coke too such as family members and close intimate friends if you know what I mean.

  3. I came to ask the question of why he would come forward, but Montana reminded me: he probably got paid.

  4. Isn't cleaning up the room obstruction somehow? Can't he get called in for questioning or something? Not that it matters but there are so many creepy people like this hanging onto celebs,I guess it comes with the territory. Coke is a bad drug folks stay away!

  5. Unless he is taking the fall, he is the guy that leaked the casket photos and is supposedly a drug dealer to the stars. I forget the place I saw it but there are pictures of him with Michael Jackson and OJ Simpson, too. Oh, he has also tried to pass himself off as George Benson's son (George Benson sang On Broadway and the original version of The Greatest Love of All before Whitney sang it). This guy is a real piece of work.

  6. Lainey covered this guy, he's a total douchebag celebrity-clinger.

That said, I'd want someone to clean up my coke too.

  7. There are more celebrity "hanger ons" in Hollywood than celebrities, that's for sure. A friend in the industry put it to me like this "Some people come to Hollywood to be stars, some people come to Hollywood to sell drugs to the stars."

  8. @Krgl420 Not sure of legalities, as technically, it's not a crime scene.

  11. I've read about this guy before. Very shady type. I have to go find the article but he's been around at least a couple of other celebrities who died too soon...maybe just a drug dealer, but there was something else. Hmm.

  16. Like I need another post to remind me that Whitney is deadddd!!!!

    Damn this still gets me.

Why are all my childhood favorite singers dropping like flies? Michael (I still cant process that one)...Whitney...Etta James....

and yet Mariah is still alive and hello kitty-kicking.

I kid, I kid (for the most part).

  17. There were people named Raffles all the time, in movies from the 30's. Usually they were 50 year old newsies or female lush BFF's.

  18. I thought tampering with a death scene was a crime??

The fact that this trash tried to pose as one of George Benson's son's is even more loathsome. George lost a son due to being shot. He does not need this scum saying he was his child.

  20. Ya, I figured the death scene had to be tampered with, because obviously Houston died while smoking crack, or cranking coke, in the bathtub which brought on what is commonly known as "doing the chicken". In other words she went unconscious after her toke/crank and slipped unawares into the water in the tub. A seasoned coke addict would not lose consciousness by merely snorting coke. Hence the reference to cleaning up the room afterwards was probably in reference to the pipe or the needle.
