Nick Lachey Is Too Important For 98 Degrees Tour

Nick Lachey is like the Justin Timberlake of N'Sync except without the acting success or number one albums. For some reason the 98 Degrees tour that had 30 somethings looking forward to a night out to see their old flavor of the month band will not happen, at least with Nick Lachey. He says he is excited to see the excitement for the mini-tour but that he is just going to stay home and do nothing but wait for the baby. You would think he would be anxious to get out on the road and earn some money for the baby. He could make more working those 15 dates then he will working any of his other jobs for two years combined. Just because 98 Degrees was a distant third in the boy band hierarchy of N'Sync and Backstreet Boys, does not mean there are not people willing to spend good money to see them. I think he is just trying to forget those days which of course are the only reason he is famous so he should respect that. Plus, he needs to think of the other guys, including his brother who could use the cash too.

  2. And of course the big settlement he got from Jessica makes him independent ...

  3. Wait. Why is it wrong that the guy doesn't want to do something that he did 15 years ago and wants to move on from? I mean I get it made him "famous", but why does that mean he owes people to reunite? I would want to crawl under a rock as well if I was part of that group.

  4. seeing that he and Jessica didn't have a pre-nup thanks to Papa Joe who thought Nick was going to be the breadwinner. He walked away with a chunk of change. He is no Russell Brand. He went for 1/2 and got it.

I don't think he gives a rat's ass about the other members needing cash.

  5. Nick is literally the only person in this pic that I recognize. The lipstick they put on him is a little too pink.

  6. He doesn't owe them anything. They weren't even third in the boy band world. What about Color Me Bad and Menudo? LOL

I would think touring with them would be a career hindrance and not a help. It would look desperate. Even more desperate then Vanessa and whatever else he does at any given time.

  7. Hang on, on what planet is Timberlake an "acting success"?

    He can't act for shit.

  8. Oh my god, I had the hots for Nick SO BAD when 98* was at their peak. In the music video where he's boxing, ugh I didn't even care that he was wearing lipstick.
I've always wondered how he was able to "retire" the way he has and not worry about working, I guess it's because he got half of Jessica's money? I wonder how much that was.

  10. Yikes, not the best looking guys.

  11. Agreed, Timberlake might be an actor, but not a successful one.

  12. I can't criticize Nick Lachey for not doing the tour. Isn't he doing what we counsel so many celebs to do - earn enough to live comfortably, and then retire rather than try desperately to extend their 15 minutes of fame? He has a new wife, baby on its way....the last thing he wants to do is tour and be separated from them. He has money from the divorce and his various hosting gigs to relax and enjoy his life.

  13. Does anyone else think he kinda looks crosseyed or has a lazy eye? Just wondering.....

  14. If he would be on tour when the baby is due, good for him.

  15. Well he shouldn't HAVE to do it, but I think it would be somewhat proper to saddle up for the good of the other guys.

Victoria Beckham bit the bullet for a reunion tour when she didn't want to a few years ago. Recently she said "hell no" but I think she's earned that right. Not that one should have to "earn" such a right...

  16. How much did Nick get from his divorce from Jessica? Eventually it's going to run out. Those tropical vacations he and Vanessa take every 15 minutes don't come cheap.

    HAHAHAHA- awesome.

Also I think we've all blocked out how big a success Jessica Simpson is. Understandable ;)
But girlfriend apparently had between 35-40$ million when they divorced (I think it's much higher now).
So presumably he has 15-20$million from that.
Pretty hard to blow on vacations alone. And Nick and Vanessa (WipeOut host ruiner) dont seem to live that fancy, so presumably it'll last for awhile.

But yeah, he's a dick for not touring. If Posh can "lower" herself to do it, so can Mr. Boxing Lipstick.

  18. He still has Jessica's millions. He will be okay.
I can't blame the guy for wanting to be with his wife for the birth of his first child.

  19. Kinda have soft spot for Nick. He doesnt hv to tour with the band. Its called" moving on", enty.

  20. I can see Lemonjello saying no to a tour. Who would want their husband to go on tour right after they have a baby?

  21. Justin is a successful actor he may not be a talented one but he's done well for himself especially internationally. The only movie of his that did poorly was in time but even tha was considered a success given how well it did internationally, which is pretty much where he gets the majority of his success when it comes to acting. He's not hugely successful but he is successful all his movies in the last two years or so made 100 million of more and a lot of them weren't that costly to make so they more than doubled their budgets. He sucks as an actor but he isn't unsuccessful.

  22. I don't blame him. He's finally settled down and expecting a baby, and NOW they want to go on tour? Try again later. They'll always be hasbeens, there's no rush.

  23. He should stay home and enjoy the birth of his baby. From what I understand he invested his money well. He deserved every penny that he received in the divorce. I can't imagine Joe Simpson making his life anything but hell. The guy was probably under their bed the whole time.

  24. Nick Lachey may be a nice guy (I have know idea if he is, but he seems so), but the fact that he is young and healthy but has not had a job for 10 years is most strange.

I could understand if he was depressed or something.
Or even if he thought his only rightful place was on a stage as a pop star, and that all other lines of work were beneath him.

But apparently, that's not the case.

What is he going to say to his child when he/she asks what he does for a living?
Career day at school should be interesting.

What do you know? So am I.
Wait, I'm not important; I'm not INTERESTED. That's it.
