How would you like it if you were on American Idol or The Voice and were singing for your life and one of the judges who was to decide your fate spent the entire show texting and Tweeting on their phone and not paying any attention to you at all? How about if that person in one of their Tweets said they don't even like talent shows. All of that is what will.i.am did during the UK version of The Voice this weekend. If you don't like the shows and are bored then don't do take the money and don't do it. He has also been accused by the people on his team that they are only allowed to communicate with him via Twitter.
I have hated the BEP's since Bridging The Gap...dreadful people.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I actually enjoy The Voice which is really shocking b/c I do hate all talent shows but I had two friends audition who made it so I figured I'd watch and wound up being pleasantly surprised by the setup. Aren't there enough British music artists that could be in that chair instead of this guy? Were they all already taken by the 50 other talent shows currently on in the UK? At least I have good reports on how things are run on the American version, this season anyway. The guy from Black Eyed Peas, really?
ReplyDeleteThe success of the Black Eyed Peas and, in particular, will.i.am confound me. I don't think he would ever make it on stage in any of these shows. I 'm not sure that he has the skill to be judging one... and with this, he's certainly proved himself an ass.

ReplyDeleteThe success of BEP was due to Fergie. They had been around awhile but then she showed up. Then her solo album did really well and his... not so much.
He strikes me as someone with major entitlement issues and a huge chip on his shoulder.
That's not only extremely rude, but very unprofessional. If he is getting paid handsomely to do a job, then he shoulf effin do the job.

ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, this is one of my major pet peeves - people who constantly text other people when they're with you, and vice versa when they're with that other person. Can't people be in the moment anymore? It's RUDE.

ReplyDeleteNo doubt Bill here (I refuse to call him the ridiculous "Will.I.Am") thought he was being super cool by showing how little this meant to him. All it did is confirm that he is a MAJOR tool.
He was treating about the show while on it to keep it trending and to beat cowell on bgt. And it worked, so doubt the BBC would have any beef with that.

ReplyDeleteWill is incredibly popular over here. He's humble, funny, articulate and seems to really care about his team and the show.
We all expected to absolutely hate him but we've all fallen in love with the geeky, nerdy, really gentle musical genius. He's such a breath of fresh air after the calculated cynicism of Simon Cowell, whose reputation is falling faster than a stripper's panties at a bachelor party.

I also think he has ADD and ADHD, as does my son, maybe he finds it difficult to sit still and so the phone weirdly helps him concentrate better.

ReplyDeleteHe can't be any more checked out than some of the US judges have been this season--it seems like every week one or more of them seems really out of it--mostly CeeLo or Blake --Adam Levine is the only one who consistently pays attention --I don't remember him phoning it in, but the other 3 have all done it.

It's been obvious that there are posters here who use more than one name---some seem to use four or five different names--their similar language and identical viewpoints (usually praising people other posters dislike) give that away.
