Linda Evangelista Wants $46K A Month For Her Child

I have written about the Linda Evangelista, Henri Pinault case before, but this week it is in New York Family Court so I thought it was a good time to bring it up again. In case you don't know, Henri and Linda were quietly seeing each other for about three months. Linda told Henri she was pregnant and he dumped her for Salma Hayek. Linda never told anyone who the father of the baby was until she filed court papers last year asking for support. Linda claims she needs $46K a month minimum for her child because he has to have three nannies and armed bodyguards because his father is worth so much money and that if Salma's baby can have houses all over the world then his son needs them too. If Linda wins it would be the most amount of money ever awarded per month in New York for child support.

  1. In this case since he's a major cheater and man-whore, I hope he has to pay.........he can afford it.

  2. While that is a ridiculous amount of money, I think Evangelista is in the right. Pinault is a BILLIONAIRE, and she is right in thinking that her child deserves the same life as Hayek's child. Fair is fair.

  3. Her baby won't even get out of his crib for less than $1533.33, apparently.

  4. Naomi, take note, THIS is how it's done!

  5. I don't actually disagree. Normally, there seems to be quite a bit of arrogance behind these cases, but this basis seems fair.

If Pinault is giving this kind of support to his other child of a similar age with an equally successful mother, why not provide the same for the other?

    LMAO @ Barton!! Well played!

  7. Good for her. He's wealthy. That's his baby. Pay up.

  8. So much for any kind of normal life. The baby has - I'm assuming - no relationship with its father, yet has to have multiple nannies and ARMED BODYGUARDS just because of who the dad is?

    $46K a month, it is!

  9. That is our annual income. Excuse me while I vomit.

  10. I bet her first thought after she found out she was preggers was CHA CHING! Yes the baby deserves to live a decent life like his sister but does she REALLY need $46K a month? Most families live on a lot less than that in a year. There's this thing called raising your own kids. I know it's a difficult concept to have but she did squeeze that puppy out. She should now be responsible for it. Woman like her give the rest of us a bad name.

    1. Ew, no. The phrase "squeezing that puppy out" does all women a disservice. Jesus.

  12. Of course she wants $46,000 a month for each kid...This is a woman who won't even get out of bed for less than $10,000.

  13. He's a billionaire he can afford it. On a side note i need to go and seduce me a billionaire , i'm tired of working and earning a living. lol jk!

  14. @sifichick its his kid too , if he were worth less she porbably would be asking for less. He has to support his child too.

  16. There are plenty of stories of kids of wealthy parents being kidnapped and held for ransom. So yes, he does need more security than you and your $45k per year HHI baby require. That's just reality.

You have a kid, you need to pay. And if you're worth a lot and you have a child, then that child deserves the style of life that he or she would have if he lived with you.

  17. The child deserves to be treated fairly, especially since he needs more protection because of who his father is. The unattactive wealthy man needs to pay up. Fair is fair.

I get that it seems like a huge amount of money to most of us, but daddy is worth megabucks.

  18. @Barton, that's awesome.

Linda was my favorite supermodel! Hope none of that money goes towards any more plastic surgery, it looks like she's tweaked her face.

  19. She's not wrong about the bodyguards. Fortune 100 CEOs and their families have secutiry details. A billionaire's kid should too. Kidnappin' and ransom is no joke.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Y'all beat me to it. Nevermind.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well, seeing as she doesn't wake up for less than $10000 a day, it is reasonable to ask for $46,000 a month to be the Mom to his kid.

    ReplyDelete
  22. she is still gorgeous, but yeah, looks tweaked.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Can you imagine receiving that much money a month?

    ReplyDelete
  24. While I think he definitely should pay of for some armed bodyguards, $46k a month seems excessive even for a billionaire.

And didn't Salma marry him? One could argue that it's technically *her* getting the use of the houses and their daughter is along for the ride, unless the houses are in their daughters name.

He still seems like a douche though.

  25. That's right, his sperm, while living with him, had the billionaire life, why shouldn't it have it now that it's grown?

  28. @sifichick - "There's this thing called raising your own kids. She should now be responsible for it."
First of all, her child is a person not an "it." Secondly, why because she is a woman, does she have more responsibility over the child than Henri? Presumably, she is doing all of the child rearing, he should at least have financial responsibility. I am so tired of the ignorant view that women have sole responsibility of raising a child when it takes TWO to make one. Just because, as you say, she, “squeezed that puppy out,” does not make him less responsible for this child.

  29. I always thought it was pretty cool that Linda said she doesn't get out of bed for less than $10,000. Women should be more confident, value themselves and know when they do a good job. She was a highly sought after supermodel. Damn straight she didn't get out of bed for less than $10,000! She was smart enough to know it.

As far as $46k a month seeming excessive "even for a billionaire?" Bull. I'll bet he makes more than that in interest each month; probably considerably more.

  33. I know he can afford it, but the argument that the kid need bodyguards because of his famous father is kind of specious since no one knew Pinault was the daddy until she filed for support.

  35. I once worked as PA for a woman who got $45k in *alimony.* She had a hard time surviving on it and later got it upped to $75k a month. I was working part-time and trying to start up a business on the side and my own times were TOUGH, and she was whining about giving $35k to the opera....
    That was a rough year.

    ReplyDelete
  36. @Barton Fink: Excellent!

The way it works for most of us working Joes is we have to pay a percentage of our gross income for each child we have. Why shouldn't it be the same for him?

Last time I heard the numbers, it was: 21% of gross income for one child, 31% for two, 41% for three, and 51% for four or more. And that's before taxes and everything else are taken out. I've had co-workers over the years who, after child support and taxes, ended up making less than someone on minimum wage. I'm not saying it's unfair. I think it's fair, and everyone should have to live by these rules, no matter how much money they make or how much their net worth is.

  37. Hem. Note that she filed in New York. Enty is correctly pointing out that Ms. Evangelista is trying to leverage the CS standards there.

@Bally--Doesn't really work like that in most jurisdictions, which mostly go by the California rules. What Dad actually does is change legal residency to wherever she filed, gets a night job at min. wage, files for 50/50 time including half of weekdays, CS numbers get crunched by the formula and rent-a-uterus mom gets to ponder the idiocy of procreating for personal gain while she's earning to pay HIM. Meanwhile, baby and daddy happily bond at parks and playgrounds and during the immediate night stay-over's that mom cannot believe the custody mediator awarded so soon.

Hear that, ka-ching krew? One of my kids went to school with the son of an NBA baller whose mom tried this act in CA. All she got out of it was a Corvette and the privilege of living in a nice apartment. I used to see her around on desperate dates, mouth-mashing with skeevy guys while her son was down visiting dad at his mansion.

The law in CA allows for "equal lifestyle" between households up to a reasonable standard. If mom wants to live a lifestyle like that, she can pay for her own multiple houses and hot&cold running nannies (although extra for security is probably reasonable).

  38. I thought this was more about establishing paternity and making sure the kid gets equal share in the will or trusts.

  39. I'm with MayB. The only reason anyone knows who the Childs father is, is because the mom wanted money and told everyone CAUSING the necessitybof bodyguards.

I think the father should take care of his child. However, i think 46K a month is insane.

Have the father cover costs of schooling and bodgyguards and even a nanny, out of his own pocket monthly. Then give enough child support to support only the child. They were never married and you know some of that "child support" she would be Linda Support.

If she agreed to terms like I suggested above I would believe she was really worried about her Son, not just greedy.

  44. This actually isn't a lot to ask for. In California pursuant to State Guideline Support (which is the required standard when ordering child support), you would only have to earn $8.4 Million per year at a 20% custodial timeshare to obtain an order of $46k per month. This guys is a BILLIONAIRE. Technically if you run the actual numbers, he would have to pay $84 million per month (however we also have statutory provisions that designate you as a high earner to avoid this result and permits the court to deviate from guideline support)

  51. Fair's fair, as long as the money is truly going to support (and protect) the kid. There'd better be some mega-trust set up here, or Ms. Evangelista will look greedy.

It's also not unfair for her to protect the child's right of inheritance. His father does make eleventy billion dollars - it shouldn't all go to his demi-soeur just because she's "legitimate."
