And I still can't get my sister who is nearing 30 years as a smoker to quit.
ReplyDeleteawww this is sad, had no idea she was ill. Glad she was able to finish Desperate Housewives.
ReplyDeleteRIP
:( liked her. RIP
ReplyDeleteRIP, Kathryn.
ReplyDeleteawww RIP that means she was dying during the finale?
ReplyDeleteI remember when her character was killed off on the West Wing. That was a multiple-hankie episode.
ReplyDeleteRIP.
As someone pointed out elsewhere, she started on DH when she was 59 and by the time she died she'd won two Emmys, so it's almost never too late to follow your dreams!
ReplyDeleteHer character died on the finale too. Life imitates art!
ReplyDeleteShe won two Emmys and never had to werq the red carpet or abuse the Botox. My kinda girl!
ReplyDeleteEleven years with lung cancer. Erg. Breathe easy now, Mrs. Landingham.
RIP Ms. Joosten, I always thought you were great!
ReplyDeleteLoved her on DH. RIP Kathryn.
ReplyDeleteShe did an episode the first season of Scrubs that made me cry like a baby. Whenever I saw her this last season on DH, I got all choked up because I knew she was end-stage. RIP, sweet lady.
ReplyDeleteShe had given interviews stating that she was doing fine, but I always wondered. I thought she looked end stages too. Her Johnny Mathis record to leave this earth was classic! Truly enjoyed Ms Joosten. Wonderful but sad death scene on the show...
DeleteShe was the best part of the show, by far. She was a great example of "it's never too late to follow your dreams."
ReplyDeleteHow did she start on Desperate Housewives at 59 and die at 72. DH wasn't on the air for 13 years.
ReplyDeleteBut she was an amazing actress and I was wondering if her cancer was back because her looking sickly and dying on the show was just a bit too convincing for me
I really admire this woman. She was very ill while filming the final episodes of DH, and she was basically playing herself; a very strong but very ill woman. I find it very brave she was able to that, since it is superpainful to basically play your own death while you know it will happen in real life too, and very soon.
ReplyDeleteRIP Kathryn
I had no idea she was sick on Desperate Housewives, so this news really surprised me. She was so great on the show. RIP.
ReplyDeleteShe'll always be Mrs Landingham to me. RIP you wonderful dame.
ReplyDeleteLung cancer and she wasn't even a smoker...
ReplyDeleteUgh. Life sometimes sucks major ass.
Loved her. I remember her episode on Grey's Anatomy had me bawling like a baby. Truly an inspirational woman.
I didn't know she was sick, and I didn't know she was only 72. She always looked much older than my parents seem to be to me. (Maybe my parents look older to people who aren't their children....)
ReplyDeleteIf she was not a smoker, do they know what caused the lung cancer?
She *had* been a smoker and quit after her first bout with the disease.
ReplyDeleteI was so sad to read of this yesterday. I had no idea she was sick. Rest in Peace.
ReplyDeleteThe north portico keeps flying open...RIP mrs landingham
ReplyDeleteHer final episode of The West WIng was GUT WRENCHING. Mrs. Landingham, you classy dame. Rest in peace.
