ReplyDeleteI first saw Jon Hamm in bridesmaids and didn't know what all the hype was about. Then I decided to check out Mad Men on Netflix and I finally "got it." ;) I definitely prefer him clean shaven, though...I don't think the scruffy look works for him...IMHO, of course. ;)

It's an important commentary on Western civilization that Lisa Rinna has become our most elegant, best-dressed, most beloved and alluring senior citizen. And to think that she did it simply by appearing in public for twenty or thirty years with a deformed upper lip, which she then (in her 90s) had surgically fixed. That's how it's done, folks.

ReplyDeleteOh man, Mad Men is the greatest thing I've ever seen on TV. I just love it. This week's epi was ok, kinda predictable in my book, last week - when it was ALL about Joan and Peggy - fuck yeah. That episode was made of win. Overall, the show is just so fabulous. I hate the commercials now. Remember the days when like BMW would sponsor the whole hour and just air spots at the beginning and the end? Ahhhh. Those were the days! I can't believe next week is the finale.
Seriously, peeps. Cause I know you all have brains and appreciate goodness: Watch Mad Men in marathon form. It is SOOOOOOOO worth it. And Don Draper is the hotness.

They don't make men like that anymore, and maybe it's a good thing, but for those of us too young to be exposed to that sort of man back in the day, he's like an extinct animal. The way Jon Hamm plays Don Draper is mesmerizing.

ReplyDeleteI just watched the Inside the Actors Studio w/ the cast of Mad Men and Mr. Lipton asked Jon how many times he had to audition for Draper and he said 7. Matthew Weiner said it was b/c someone had thought he wasn't sexy enough! Pfffft!
