Amy Winehouse Tribute

One year to the day of the death of Amy Winehouse, I thought I would post what I considered to be the best tribute to Amy. Here is Jools Holland's tribute to Amy Winehouse which he recorded last year. It is about 40 minutes long and amazing. Even if you don't have time to watch it all, I encourage you to watch the first performance which is from 2003 and see how drastically Amy changed from then to the time she died.

  5. Argh, I'm crying watching this, just as I did when she died.

    Addiction is so messed up.

I had a dream about Nick Stahl last night and this morning I saw that he's doing okay! Score one for rehab.

  6. Thanks everyone for the Lil Bro bday wishes! We don't need anymore members of the 27 club!

@Em - I'm missing your THOR face. Although mischievous Red Riding Kitty is adorable.

  10. What a voice! Sad to see her fading away in the video. Becoming more vacant in the eyes but more erratic body language.

  11. She was a healthy, happy albeit shy looking 19(?) year old in the first video. She was so talented. I loved her voice from the first song I heard. It was so unique and so soulful. It is a shame to see what addiction can do. RIP.

  14. Thank you for posting this Enty.

In the end this was a beautiful young girl who became overwhelmed by her addictions until they became demons too big for her to control. I always am reminded about that old saying "love the addict hate the addiction" here.

    GREAT collection of videos.
Fuckin shame the girl is gone.
    RIP Amy

Enty, thanks for reminding me of what we lost. I could have listened to this woman forever.

  17. I miss her so much. Even though I didn't know her. She was one of a kind, and a talent so large it couldn't be contained.
Hopefully, further music will be released. There is much in the archives.
