Lily Allen Is Pregnant Again

Just six months after giving birth to her daughter Ethel, Lila Allen announced that she is pregnant again. Apparently it was a surprise to both of them. I think the only way it can be a surprise is if they are always using protection. I think Lily as probably breastfeeding and thought that would keep her from getting pregnant. Ooops. I'm happy for her and for them. I think Lily loves being a mom and after the heartbreak she went through previously, I think it must make it really special for her. Lily has been recording a new album, but I guess a tour might have to wait.

  1. I've always liked Lily Allen ... after a rocky few years, she seems to have become a very stable and down to earth person. I'm glad she's found happiness. Gratz to them!

  2. Goodness sakes, I forgot all about her! When she was snorting coke and passing out on sidewalks, everyone cared. She stopped, and we stopped. Odd how that works.

  3. I'm a little old to fully appreciate her music since it seems to be geared to a younger crowd - the type of crowd I was running around with in my 20's - but love it just the same. Love her voice! Congrats to her, even though she won't read this.

Ha ha! The first time I heard that was from an Irish woman talking about her closely spaced kids. Hilarious!

My daughter was 6 1/2 months when I got pregnant with my son. TMI to tell you what happened, but it's a helluva ride :)

Congrats to Lily. Having them close together can be really tough, but seeing them become close friends is priceless :)

  8. Same thing happened to a friend of mine, she thought she'd be safe because she was breast feeding, but on her first day back to work after her maternity leave she had to tell her boss she would be taking maternity leave again in 6 months.

She's never had a problem getting pregnant which is great but obviously has had some issues going full term so wishing her lots of luck that everything goes well again. I dig her, she's a cool kid.

  12. Eeep! Prego with a 6 1/2 month baby. Glad it's her and not me. God bless and all. I know her pregnancies have been rocky. Getting knocked up with a baby under 1 was like my worst nightmare. Fortunately, breastfeeding made me want no parts of my husband. Well, I guess not thankfully for him. Hee.

Just wanted to add that I've been on holiday at the Jersey Shore sans Internets and a cellie circa 1992 so needless to say, I was glued GLUED GLUED to CDAN last night catching up on the Blind Item Reveals (natch) and all the good juicy gossip from the weekend (Tommygirl and all) and I just have to say, the reveals were awesome and all y'all comments were even awesomer. Love yous guys. And, I really must recommend vacationing without electronics. It is SO good for the soul. But, it is great to be back with all my CDAN peoples.

  13. Spacing less than a year apart might be a better idea. Whoever claimed that a two-year separation between siblings is ideal was nuts. Dealing with a newborn in the middle of an older child going through the Terrible Twos/Threes destroys marriages. BTDT.

  14. Aw, yay! I'm so happy for her! I can't imagine losing two pregnancies. I'm glad she's finally getting to have the family she's always wanted.

  15. You think that's bad??!

I definitely win with my 'Irish triplets'. My twin girls were 3 months old when I became preggo with number 3.

    Oooooops.

  16. Um, my brother and I are ten months apart. I'm 45 and still get a bit embarrassed by my parents' antics whenever I think about!

  17. @Amanda M, Whoa! That is CRAZY! How old are your "Irish triplets" now? I hope you have (or had, depending on their current age) lot's of help.

  20. My Grandma had 7 kids in under 10/11 years and by the time she had her last one he was born with all black finger and toenails because she just didnt have anymore nutrients to give him from her body. As this was in the late 60s/early 70s I cant be sure she was taking her pre-natals but regardless while I am happy for Lily I cant help but wince hard when I hear about women putting themselves through the rigors of pregnancy that quickly. I think I heard that it takes years, as in more than 2 or 3 or even 4, before a woman's body fully is replenished and ready again. I dont just mean your vag and uterus is ready, I mean your body (and mind) in all ways. Good for her for being happy but Im sad her body hasta deal with that shit all over again so quickly. Sorry Lily Allen's insides, sorry ;)

  21. My 2 youngest are 16 months apart. While it was no joy being 8 months pregnant and packing my son on my hip, it wasn't that bad. The thing I hated the most was that I worked out and looked the best I ever had after my son and apparently I looked a little too good for my husband cause next thing you know I'm peeing on a damn stick bawling my eyes out. But I wouldn't change her for a tight ass if given a do over

  22. How lucky you all are to be mothers!

My dad is 10 months younger than his sister. Everyone thought they were true twins, they were even in the same grade through school.

  23. Amanda, my sister was also pregnant with her third before her twins were 6 months old. The twins had been 5.2 and 6.2 pounds, easy enough to deliver. Her body evidently thought that was how much much baby weight it could carry, so the third was 11.4 pounds, NOT easy to deliver when it's packed into one child!!!

  24. my grandmother always said, after you have a baby, watch out....sooo easy to get preg. w/another!

  25. @WUWT? - 11.4 lbs!!! Bless your sisters heart for delivering a true watermelon. Give her my love. And three children under 2 is....let's just say it's a wild ride :) Glad to hear there are others that can emphasize.

I read your comment right as I was leaving the house this afternoon, and I think I was still chuckling about it 5 miles into my drive :)

Insane!! It sounds like you are managing well, and I have to tell you I have the utmost respect for parents of multiples. Btw, my father-in-law has two sets of twins in his immediate family. Can you imagine?? Makes me want to do a shot of whiskey thinking about it, and I don't drink whiskey!

I'm so happy for her. My son was 15 months old when my daughter was born. It can be difficult but the kids tend to be very close and my son is extremely protective of her already. Sending good vibes to her after all the hardship with her past miscarriages.

  29. My husband has an Irish twin. His sister is exactly 10 months younger than him. Every time people ask him if he has siblings/how old they are, they always say that phrase. I always found it funny. :)
