Now Jennifer Lopez Wants To Stay On American Idol - Maybe

A few months ago, Jennifer Lopez wanted no part of anymore judging on American Idol. She had used them to her advantage and was going on tour with Enrique Lopez and had a new production deal and was far too busy to be seen as a judge on a talent show. Fast forward and she hears about producers looking at a new group of judges and all of a sudden Jennifer is feeling like her little bluff might have gone too far and she is starting to worry and wants that easy $20M a year. I hope the producers tell her to go make it on her own and see how she does. I think Jennifer forgets how rock bottom her career was before idol. It is still not any great shakes. No one buys her record. People are going to see the shows to see Enrique and not her. When was the last time she was in a movie? She should be begging the producers on Idol to let her stay. If she does not get to stay then look for her on an infomercial real soon. Oh, and begging for a Vegas residency.

  3. I don't care for AI, and I could give two shits about Jennifer Lopez, who I have only ever enjoyed in one film (Out of Sight). That being said, I hope AI uses this as an opportunity to try and hold onto their very young fan base. Jennifer Lopez was ridiculous in thinking that the show was succeeding because of her. She signed on to judge a juggernaut of a show and they will get the same ratings whether she's there or not. I hope they get someone young and current and she's left wondering "what now?". I hate a big ego almost as much as I hate...... a lot of other stuff.

  4. you are up early this morning. i don't care who is on that show it is so boring. And there is nothing about her that screams "mentor" unless you are a shorter dumber back up dancer who wants to travel the world on someone else's dime.
i can't wait for homeland to start the new season on showtime.

  5. I'm picturing large malted milk concoctions with whipped cream and a cherry when I read that her career ain't "great shakes" at present. And then I start to think that there should be an entire region known as the Great Shakes Region.

  6. The only one who cares if she stays on that assinine show is her boy toy.

  7. I hope they get rid of her big ass. She is so annoying thinking she get better. Watch her bomb.

  8. The only reason she is back in the spotlight is b/c of AE. Didn't she learn from Paula's mistake?

"begging for a Vegas residency" - what does this refer to?

  9. @Barton - <3. The Great Shakes Region would be such a happy place. I'd love to vacation there.

  10. @lucklass, Enty is referring to when celebrity entertainers take a huge chunk of money to appear in a regular show at a hotel, usually performing nightly for a pre-determined amount of time, a la Celine Dion or Tom Jones.

  11. @ Em Cue Em - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! You have got to be kidding me. JLo live in Vegas???? She's no Bette, Celine, even Toni Braxton. Surely you are joking Enty?

  12. They probably don't want to ratify her jumpsuit clause.

  13. Can we please get some real, respectable judges on Idol? Randy was the only one I respected, but it seems he's now loving everyone who performs too and following JLo and Steve. Very little criticism. I thought most of the singers from last season were terrible. Absolutely horrible. I stopped watching, because all the judges did was praise them for their amazing talent. Seriously?

  14. I hope JBlow takes the Mick Jagger wanna be with her. He is no better at judging than she is.

  15. Ahaha JLo can never perform 'live'

  16. @rejected - is that a MV reference? If so, I concur.

MV = my fave BI evah

  17. But of course Frufra!

  18. Can you imagine MV in a crazy Vegas show? The whole thing would have to be prerecorded vocals, live backing vocalists, and the occasional voice over of Jenny from Block.

When will she stop wearing those horrid jumpsuits? She has an amazing body, but those suits do nothing for her?

  19. sorry, i am hungover and cannot punctuate correctly

  20. IDK, lucky, I think that Vegas show might be a spectacle worth watching. As long as she has lots of costume changes - maybe Jumpsuits of the World or something :-).

  21. You know, the Vegas thing is not a bad idea. She and Marc should build some big extravaganza show out of the people on that talent reality show they did--and they can both perform in it as the headliner when they feel like it in between other gigs.

  22. Of course she does....

  23. So I know what MV is, but every time you guys talk about it it makes me laugh. Nirvana has a song called "MV", and it's about moist vagina. Hah.

  24. Amber- I think that too!

  26. Sorry guys, I loved her before. Now she does seem boring. I enjoy seeing her perform on award shows. She's maybe one of the only performers I"ll watch bc I love how she dances. I said in a post yesterday, you can't fake a good dancer. And I do love her outfits. I was excited when she was going to be on AI. I thought, maybe now I"ll love it like I did in the first 3 or so seasons? (Remember AI was the first show on tv besides the late night talk shows after 9/11? So Kelly Clarkson always holds a special place in my heart) But I thought I'd get into it again with JLo. Nope. It was just like, oh you were on In Living Color (which is where I fell in love with her) but that was it. She didn't offer anything. Now Howard Stern on AGT? He has made me watch it after never watching OR caring about that show ever! He has real words to say, he seems to genuinely care or he's damn good at faking. Either way, he's what a judge should be. Howie is really seeming like a douche. Sorry OT. JLo sucked on AI but I think she's be amazing in Vegas. She's perfect with her glittery costumes and she's a hell of a dancer. Some of us don't care about the singing, we just enjoy the dancing and there are so few who can really do both without pre-recorded tracks that I don't care.

  27. katsm0711 - Howard really does care, I've listened to and loved his radio show for years. People (usually woman) hate him without ever listening to any of his stuff because he is kind of a pig, but he really is genuinely caring and incredibly smart. I haven't caught much of AGT but I'm glad he can show the world a softer side. (and to clarify, I am a woman, lol)

  28. kats- i LOVE Howard Stern and I listen to him a lot, he is kind and funny and yes, he can be abrasive and rude, but who isn't? He does a lot of good work for stray animals and animal shelters so he's an awesome man in my book. I only started watching AGT because of him. Also, I'm a woman who loves Howard. When they call up the trade radio stations and prank them..i almost piss myself every time.

  29. Can MV dance - Yes! Can MV sing - hell no! But we know she does a good job on the casting couch. How else can you explain the rise of a In Living Color Dancer.

Oh, I forgot, she is also Co$! She hides it well.

  30. They need some alternative music judges. How about Deborah Harry, David Byrne and Michael Stipe? Are there 4? If so then add Chrissie Hynde or Siouxsie Sioux.

Want younger judges? How about Florence Welch, Billie Joe Armstrong, Hayley Williams and Courtney Taylor-Taylor.

As it is it reminds me of a high school talent show where the bland are leading the bland.

  31. HUGE Howard Stern fan here! He is doing great on AGT and ratings are doing great.

I think Jennifer has surrounded herself with yes people and are convincing her she doesn't need AI that AI needs her. Yeah, um no. She played the same game last year, fool me once shame on AI fool me twice shame on Jen.

There is a line of has beens (Miley, and any Jonas brother) that would love to sit in her chair. The show is just a bad karoke contest now it really doesn't matter who judges. No real talent comes out of it anymore.

  32. Who is Enrique Lopez?

  33. Lol Rickatoo, I caught that too...pretty sure he meant Enrique Iglasius (sp?)
