The Suri Exception To Scientology

I have said it before, but I think it is worth repeating. If the settlement between Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes goes down as they are saying it is going down, then Tom Cruise is a hypocrite and the entire Scientology cult has one set of rules for everyone but Tom Cruise. Go read anything about Scientology, but especially things like exscientologykids.com which is run by Jenna Miscavige, the niece of David Miscavige who is the leader of COS. Go read just a few pages and tell me how Tom Cruise is allowed to see his kid and no one else is allowed to. Go read about how one member left COS and became an SP so that means no one can speak to them ever again. No family and no kids ever again. All you have to do is look at the last marriage Tom Cruise was in to show you how it works. Nicole Kidman left COS and has never seen Isabella and Connor again. Ever. They say they talk to her sometimes and it is Nicole's choice to not see them while Nicole says it is their choice. It is Scientology's choice. The settlement agreement that Katie and Tom signed says that Katie gets to live with Suri and that Tom gets generous visitation. That can't work. Did Katie leave COS? Then, Suri can't talk to her. Did Suri leave COS? Then Tom can't talk to Suri. All of the thousands of kids that have never been able to see one parent again and now Tom Cruise says it all doesn't apply to him. Lets see if he really sees Suri.

  1. Of course the rules don't apply to him. He's #2 and he's shtupping Miscavige.

  2. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around all of this. Sure, it's disturbing, but beyond that, it's inane and stupid. L. Ron Hubbard and all of his starry-eyed lemmings can have their made up regulations and rules as long as they stay the fuck away from me. Church of Scientology. Kill it. Kill it with fire.

  3. This whole fast as shit divorce settlement just makes GMD seem even more of a weirdo, he gave in so easily. This just confirms (to me at least) that he is not Suris bio dad.

  4. Tom's case is especially revealing even apart from Katie and Suri, because I truly believe he is a sexually active gay and has been for a long time which Scientology opposes, and I'm sure Scientology's leader and Tom's BFF David Miscavige is well aware of it.

The whole thing is a phony crock and scheme designed to fleece the gullible enabling those at the top to live luxurious lives - similar to what any number of televangelists do.

  5. Why bother faking a marriage for five whole years but settling within two weeks of filing?? I thought they were (Tom was) trying to convince people this was the real deal?

    ReplyDelete
  6. @rejectedcarebear, we'll never know for sure, but I think Katie HAD to have some serious evidence she used for leverage to take on both Tom and Scientology and emerge victorious in just over a week - unprecedented and nothing short of phenomenal.

  7. I've read a significant (!!) amount about Scientology and Enty is correct that Tom Cruise is held to a different standard than others in the CoS. Other big celebs are probably allowed some leeway too, but not much on the SP thing.

However, I believe Tom desperately wants to keep Suri in his life and possibly values her above his other children as he seems to have spent more time raising her.

I suspect Tom will certainly continue to see Suri and yes - that is a violation of the SP protocol.

  8. Since we didn't get the dirty secrets we all were hoping for regarding that destructive cult, let's at least hope this raises some questions for all the $cio-children out there, not allowed to speak to an SP parent, as well as all the $cio-parents who have abandoned their SP children. The more people think for themselves and realize what they sacrifice in the name of this science fiction madness, the better chance they will have of escaping it's malignant clutches.

  11. The obvious answer, cbb, is that Katie must have been threatening to release damning information about Tom; something he had to make go away quickly. That's all I can figure.

Or his PR felt this was the best way to look like a good parent.

Or maybe he is a good parent.

I'm going with my first guess, though, until further notice.

  12. Exactly angel!! She had an ace up her sleeve the whole time! I wish I could give Katie a Todd from scrubs hi-five for pulling this off

  13. I'm disappointed they settled. I was hoping Katie would use this opportunity to expose CoS. Like it was a big scheme masterminded by her genius lawyer father.
But, after reading this story, maybe something will come out from this unusual custody arrangement.

  15. @ angel & rejectedcarebear - Katie HAS to have some pretty bombshell leverage. She's looked way too calm and happy for someone who just turned their life upside-down.

I, personally, was relieved to get divorced, and it was still emotional hell. I did all of the paperwork, no att'ys, and it topped out at a whopping $400.

There's absolutely no way there isn't something fishy going on with this.

"You know, KATE, if anybody hears about Mr. Cruise and the lawn boy, we won't be able to protect your friends and family. I mean, you have every right to express yourself, of course, but if anything were to get out, Mr. Cruise's fans might take offense. And we wouldn't be able to protect you. You know how fans are."

  18. Of course there is more to it, and likely none of us will ever truly know.

Tony Ortega, from the Village Voice, spoke to Marty Rathbun, ex-CO$, and he had this to say about what he predicted would happen (this is from a few days ago):

But Rathbun says these three early hints tell him all he needs to know to predict how this thing will go down now that Katie and Tom are in negotiations:

    a) Katie signs a document that indicates there is to be joint/equal custody of the daughter of Tom and Katie. However, there will be a side agreement (that will sit locked up in their lawyer's safes) that gives Katies sole custody, control over education, and some visitation rights to Tom.

    b) Katie signs a document that indicates that Scientology was never an issue nor consideration in the filing for divorce.

Miscavige and Scientology Inc hacks then make the media and their sources wrong for having allegedly jumped the gun to insinuate Scientology into the matter in order to bludgeon Scientology Inc, Miscavige and Cruise.

  19. Of course--celebs ALWAYS get treated differently by their religions. Remember how Mormon Marie Osmond had her first marriage annulled so that she could have her second marriage in the temple? Just let a "regular" member try to have that happen--haha, good luck.

We have friends that were involved with the Co$ for about 2 years. When they decided to leave, it took them almost 5 years, 38,000 dollars, five restraining orders, changing their phone numbers multiple times and moving to another state. It almost seems easier to get of a gang than this wackadoodle group.

  29. It's hard to think that given Tom's actions towards Nicole when they split, that Katie did not have something big as leverage. I don't believe she would allow anything that would give Tom access to full custody of Suri. It would appear that she has been working for sometime on her escape, and managed to put together a nice little leverage package.

Even without the court dealings with the divorce, I think Co$ is getting some scrutiny. Tom's rep will take another hint, just from the media attention on the church.

Hopefully Katie and Suri will be able to get on with their lives and keep as far away from Co$ as possible.

Google "Fey Oiled-Tush", Ted C's GI about Tommy Girl. Or here's a handy link: http://www.blinditemsexposed.com/search/label/Fey%20Oiled-Tush -- then the comments point to the New Yorker expose about the slavery and child beatings, and the wife who would leave and have something on the midget.

Or here's THAT link: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2011/02/14/110214fa_fact_wright?currentPage=all) about Paul Haggis' CO$ experiences (witnessing child slavery and beatings). (Haggis wrote the screenplay for Million Dollar Baby)

    Fun times.

And that KH knows all this and turned a blind eye? Signed an NDA? It's not commendable; it's nasty. KH's silence is a smack in the face to everyone else who's escaped CO$ and lived to tell about it. And she profits. Fuck. Her. and her nasty midget husband.

    ReplyDelete
  36. @Renoblondee, the same occurred to me, but Katie filing when and where she did gave the impression that Tom was blindsided which his spokesman said he was. Initially that same spokesman said Tom would be filing in L.A. when he returned from filming in Iceland. Well, that never happened, and I can't imagine a practical reason for Tom to purposely allow it to go down like that.

  38. Well, I think we've all heard by now that Tom C. is considered a GOD in Scientology. Also, I've read stories about how incredibly charismatic he is, so I can't blame Katie for falling for him. I mean, just about everyone who's met him says he's a really nice, down-to-earth guy. He has the ability to project that, even though his belief and actions tell a different story.

I was raised in a cult, but it was nothing compared to Scientology. Even so, it is extremely difficult to get out of one - you are raised with fear that something bad will happen to you if you dare think outside of the box. Scientology is a pyramid scheme - it is really meant for the very wealthy, but they let the unwashed masses in and take them for what little money they have so they can get slave labor, essentially. The 'grunts' are placed in horrible living conditions in some compound and are abused. They are not really free to go because they've been so brainwashed that they are essentially trapped. Never mind the harassment, the possibility of losing everyone they've befriended and their family forever. And then there are the billion-dollar contracts they sign and the steep fines they are levied by the "church" if they decide to leave. I agree that Scientology needs to be burned to the ground, so to speak. I'm stunned that they are allowed to operate in the US and in so many industrialized countries.

At BEST, she didn't want to discredit TC and CO$ for Suri's good. So Suri can grow up thinking Scitrash and TC are just fine. That's the best case scenario, and THAT'S just pulling the wool over Suri's eyes.

At worst, she's part of a publicity stunt that was agreed to years ago, and she is still fully involved with CO$. (Which, remember, she's never spoken a word against.)

There is a lot brainwashing in Mormonism, but not to the extent of some other cults like Sci and Church of God. There will always be meglomaniacal shysters Like L. Doesnt seem to know how to relate or enjoy kid things. Mb someone had a come- to- jesus talk with katie and pointed out her daughter was a bit off. Mb katie took it to heart, and made her move. 53. Sure the rules are going to be different for Tom. Why would anyone think otherwise? And I don't think Katie is even close to being out of the woods with this because Tom can sway Suri over time. He could bring her in as an adult. Tom will have that age old advantage of being "the fun parent" while Katie will have to do the actual work. Watch, Tom will win her over in her late teens. With COS fawning all over her at that age I don't see that they lost anything besides putting her in SeaOrg. Katie's battle is far from over IMHO

  54. What I don't understand is, if the CoS really believes in its own teachings, why deny to the media that this is the way it is? Why have Isabella Cruise phone the media and lie about "talking to her mom all the time"? If you believe it really is right not to talk to people who've defected anymore, even if they're your immediate family, then WHY LIE ABOUT IT? All that does is prove to the world that not only do they (CoS) KNOW that it's wrong to cut people off from their families, but they are ASHAMED of it. Bunch of hypocrites!

He pretty much stalked him, even had Tom's assistant report back to him on a daily basis (clearly, he worked for David before he worked for Tom)about all the happenings in Tom's life. Sounds to me like a jealous sick girlfriend who has the means to actually stalk her ex when he wants out. This whole thing is sick. Scientology is sick.

  57. I'm with you, Aunt Liddy. As someone mentioned yesterday, the fact that Suri would walk around in custom-made high heels, would never wear a coat (or be bare-legged) in the winter, always has her blanket and stuffed animal - I'd definitely say she's not at the same level as most six-year-olds.

The fact that she's almost always being held bothers me too, but sometimes we get a glimpse of the papparazzi following them, so it's a bit understandable. In lots of the pics where Katie is holding her, Suri is burying her face in Katie's shoulder, like she's purposely hiding from the paps. That has to be a pretty unnerving thing for anyone, let alone a six-year-old.

  62. I am ex-mormon including having my name removed. No, a church court wasn't required as I didn't do anything wrong or sinful (sex outside of marriage etc) that would warrant such. I simply sent a letter asking the Bishop for name removal as I no longer believed. He came to the house to verify I sent the letter and that was that.

Marie didn't have her marriage "annulled," but had her first temple marriage/sealing cancelled. I have also heard this called temple divorce, but sealing cancellation is the more correct terminology. This allows for a second marriage in the temple and the continued legitimacy of the children. Annulment occurs in the Roman Catholic Church. Sorry, I had to post as I hate false information.

  63. Co$ seems to be able to deem a person as Suppressive for a variety of reasons... Most notably for speaking ill of the Co$. But it seems to be if you divorce outside of the CoS, then you are labeled a Suppressive Person.

All this is good. Current Co$ folks might see that the GMD is treated differently and hopefully wake up to the bullshit that is being thrown around them.

As an aside, I have been reading a lot of Marty Rathburn and other Co$ defectors writings lately. It is hard to read through their jargon filled vocab. Even though they left the Co$, they still really believe in L. Ron Hubbard's teachings. It is so disheartening to still hear the crazy in them. Firstly, Katie got everything she wanted, quickly and quietly. That fact alone is extremely telling. I have my doubts that Tom is the father which also may have been a factor in the speedy negotiations. He didn't ask for custody. He asked for "significant meaningful time" with Suri which is strange. Everyone applauds Katie for breaking free but nobody twisted her arm to get involved with Scientology to begin with and even bring a child into the mix to complicate things even further. I think Scientology may have been the straw that broke the camel's back but i think her decision to leave has alot more to do with Tom's gayness and controlling ways than anything else, using Scientology as an excuse so she didn't have to reveal the dirt unless forced to.

Scientology is a cult that focuses primarily on it's celebrity wealthy members. Obviously Nicole's kids are also exempt because apparently now her daughter does have contact with her. I think they will bend over backwards not just for Tom but for anyone that gives big $$$ to the so-called Church.

My only question is, if people are harassed, followed and sent away like prisoners, why has the government or some watch-dog group put a stop to this or at least sent in the troops to investigate these crimes. Why are they so afraid of Scientology? If it was still called the Moonies they would have.

  67. I don't think it's anyone being "afraid" of COS (other than former members) - I think it's difficult for government organizations to mess with a church.

I grew up in the Worldwide Church of God (Armstrongism), left when I was 15. Talk about weirdness. The COS being in the news gives me the heebie-jeebies, it takes me back to being a kid and that messed up church. We had our own version of SPs, and I became one.

  68. Note: CO$ was declared a tax-exempt organization (NOT a religion) by the IRS in 1993 after something like 38 lawsuits were filed by CO$ (so I guess even the government can be bought/bullied?). The CO$ were #9 on the list of most-requested to be audited, wonder where they are now...

TC totally HAD to give up this fight, he is currently in production of 3 mega-budget movies - if he EVER wants to have a career in Hollywood again, he needed to make this go away fast. Plus I'm sure CO$ weren't too happy with all the horrible press either. He can always get a new beard after all.

  70. You have to realize that CO$$ has given loads of money to political Cands. to help them get their Church non Taxed status. This has been going on for years, all lot of so called religious groups give all the right people money to get non- profit status and then the public see them for what they trully are. The way Tom treated his first children publicly and the way he treated Suri publicly were like night and day.

And of course we all knew the rules for regular folk do not apply to Tom "the face of Xenu" Cruise were very different.

I also think that the damage has been done to Tom Cruise. No matter how much they play the 'we did this quickly for our daughter' angle, everyone who has a few brain cells will always wonder, just what exactly did she have on him.

These thoughts will linger for a very long time. He can trot out a new 'girlfriend' all he wants, even marry again, but cuirousity of exactly what Katie had on him will linger forever.

I will watch Tom with interest to see how he proceeds from this point. I can't imagine him getting married again. Who would believe it?

  73. Cults, including the Co$, scare the crap out of me. They were strong enough to bully the US Govt to give them tax exempt status. They are strong enough (so far) to avoid criminal charges, even though there is so many tales of kidnaping, obstruction of justice, beatings, etc. Shit, they even have the Clearwater police pretty much on their payroll. They pay them as security, and even pay for benefits. They have so much money, which = power. I real hope the power of the people force the government to take them down. So far, all these exposes have to be putting pressure on the FBI to do something about them.

  78. Kind of on topic. Is Scientology anti-gay or disbelieving that homosexuality exists, or does it 'just' not accept it's members bring gay/actively gay? Or is this another area where the rules for celebrities differ to those for orher members?
Reason I ask is that Kirstie Alley is very friendly with Jonathan Knight who is openly gay. They tweet each other all the time and regularly post pictures of themselves hanging out together. He's a really nice, normal guy and I can't see him putting up with prejudice from his friends.

  79. They will attempt to use this as an affront to their "See, we told you disconnection doesn't exist!" BS. It absolutely exists, when my mom and dad split up and my mom left with my siblings and I, my dad disconected from us and we had zero contact with him for over twelve years. I'm so happy that Katie and Suri are finally free as well, but it is not over yet. The CoS goons will be following and attempting to harass Katie and her family and lawyers for months if not years to come. That's just what they do.

    ReplyDelete
  80. @Sarah

They are anti-gay. The CoS is so anti-gay, that L. Ron Hubbard's son, Quentin Hubbard, who was openly gay, committed suicide.

    ReplyDelete
  81. One correction, Nicole Kidman never joined the COS. That's why that marriage ended. The kids did attend Nicole's wedding to Keith Urban with Tom's sister as chaperone.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'm disappointed they settled. I was hoping Katie would use this opportunity to expose CoS.

@katsm0711 - I don't think Katie cares about saving the world from CoS. I think she cares about saving Suri from it. Hopefully one day that little brat will appreciate what her mother did for her.

  83. @EmEyeKay - wow to the Worldwide Church of God past. And good for you to have the sense to get away at 15. Maybe 3 miles from where I live is the "International Headquarters" of the Philadelphia Church of God. Just driving by that place, it screams crazy.

And they've opened a gigantic auditorium that brings in world-renowned musicians - seriously, like the really big names. It's totally bizarre because it's this huge, elegant place built out in the middle of nowhere. Truly in someone's old cow pasture. But right on the edge of a county that has no rules and very little taxation.

  84. My, my, Enty does seem in a pet over the quick settlement. I suggest that everyone chill a little. Trying to keep shining an indicting light upon COS itself at this point just plays into their hands. Tom has nominally done the right thing for Suri's sake by agreeing to a quick, quiet settlement. Keep blasting COS now and they'll bleat about unfair persecution.

The settlement will cause long-term damage within COS, no matter how their leadership spins it. Katie won and COS lost, and losing is literally impossible in the cosmology of Scientology.

    ReplyDelete
  85. The thing is that now Tom is being forced to potentially not see his biological child ever again he realizes what crap those rules are. It's not hypocritical, it's a parental eye opening experience. Happens to every parent at some point.

I've said it before, Suri is his biological child. Doesn't mean that Katie wasn't artificially inseminated or went through IVF, but she is their bio-child.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Has anyone considered that this was not a sudden move, but rather a well planned and perfectly timed production?
Overall, both Katie and Tom have been painted in a good light. Katie as the dedicated mother watching out for her child, and Tom as the poor guy that was dumped by the woman he so famously professed his love for, but made sure everything was quickly settled for the good of his daughter. They issued joint statements and by all accounts have worked together and have not been consumed by hate/fear/revenge.
The only aspect that took me by surprise was the backlash against Katie, being perceived as deceitful and manipulative.
Really, Cruise was shocked by the filing, don't you think he would have been on a plane in about 5 minutes??? Sure, he's filming something, but they would certainly put production on hold for a few days for Cruise.
    Just a thought.

  89. I am reading Andrew Morton's unauthorized bio of Tom Cruise. Skip it by the way--it's written like AM is over 100 years old and came back from the dead to string together some anecdotes and quotes from stars out of random magazines--refers to TC as 'the youngster', etc, like AM is my great grandfather relating a very banal hearsay only story. Anyway, $6.99 on Kindle, why not? Well, now you know.
Anyway...so far he seems to be a sex maniac but Im not in it all the way. What sticks out to me, so to speak, are the ex's, like Melissa Gilbert, who state, "I can honestly say Tom Cruise is very sexual,"... if you are stating it, why use the term 'honestly'? If you dont qualify your other statements like that, are you lying? Nooo, you're lying now (I love reading about how people tell on themselves in writing, speech and bodily mannerisms).

Please someone tell me why Miscavige's wife has disappeared and no one is talking about it? She's been gone for 5 years after her mother 'commit suicide' and she was forced to denounce her publicly.

    ReplyDelete
  90. So should something happen to David Miscavige that propels Tom to Head of COS?

    ReplyDelete
  91. @Jason, probably, huh? Their president has been missing since 2004. They say he 'is absolutely not missing'. Clearly THEY know where he is. Could be in the ground, but no one in CO$ is in doubt about where he and Michelle are.

  92. PEOPLE magazine says Katie has always remained more of a Catholic than a Scientologist. So did she convert to COS or not?

    ReplyDelete
  93. @agent, no one outside of CO$ knows. The ones from Sea Org who got away said all they know is she's not ' in the Hole' (seaorg prison) or wasn't when they defected, some recently. Such evil.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Katie said she was reading the literature and was auditing (early on) and 'it is really helping a lot.' I think she is not going to say she's not CO$ ever.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Katie has some stuff on Cruise, but the Co$ has much, much more, so I think he'll choose his religion over the kid.

I also don't think he'd ever stop trying to circumvent his divorce/custody agreement and bring Suri into the Co$ fold, which is why Holmes insisted on [probably supervised] visitation instead of joint custody.

Probably none of this matters much to him anymore, except for the damage control he has to do. He'll have another "wife" and "child" soon, and the tabloids will go into overdrive about it.

    ReplyDelete
  96. @Steppy, I agree with your suggestions. Thats whats so crazy making about Hollywood--all these movie performances layered under all these 'real life' performances. Why dont all these people have psychotic breaks from lying so much and living such extreme lives of disparity every six weeks. Do these people know who they are anymore? I dont think anyone makes enough money to live a life like that.
I didnt see much backlash towards Katie. I thought, given all the underlying secretive crap that everyone played it pretty classy and Im glad not to have to read about the drama every day.

    ReplyDelete
  97. @Sandy, I agree, I wonder if Suri will somehow end up with sea org anyway. I read yesterday that supervised visitation was something that came up and Katie's lawyers vigorously denied it. Didn't Marie Osmond get her first marriage dismissed because her husband beat her up? This, by the way, is the same guy she then remarried last year, after divorcing hubby #2 in 2007.

Remember back when Tom and Katie had supposedly just met and were so fabulously in love and Tom was jumpin gon couches and stuff? I seem to remember reading something back then about how Tom's weirdo behavior could be because he had reached the pinnacle of Scientology's "clear" state, which meant he felt invincible, etc. So of course, if he has been declared the clearest of the clear, the rules don't apply to him.

Suri is no more maladjusted, I think, than any other child raised in that group. After all, they are treated as small adults, never told no, never given any guidance or boundaries, etc. That method is guaranteed to spawn horrible little brats.

  101. @CarolMD: For whatever it is worth - When i visited Co$ around 1999, I was told I could be a Catholic and scientologist. They told me there were plenty others that were Catholics too.

It was clear that they wanted my money to complete self-help crap. They didn't care about my religion.

  102. Were Katie & Suri officially in CoS? And if so, has either officially left?

My guess is they'll say there's no rule violation because either each was never in, or each is still in.

  103. So late last night, I was reading the blinds speculating about Tom and the athlete, musician and actor. Many were saying Rob Thomas as the musician, I didn't know him so I Googled. I found this link:
    http://stereogum.com/1597/tom_cruise_and_rob_thomas_are_lovers/news/

Now I know this is old but there was something sort of believable about it as the catalyst for the insanity of Tom desperately interviewing wives and quickly settling on Katie, then his eagerness to jump the couch.

There was also a story about a guy named Chad and Tom liking to wrestle with him:

    http://www.skeptictank.org/gen3/gen01952.htm

These are old stories but they are far more believable than the stories Tom has peddled as the straight action hero.

And how many guys do you know that preen in G-Strings?
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2170237/Tom-Cruise-Posing-G-string-temper-like-fury.html

Think of all the money Tom has paid Xenu to make him seem straight. He probably personally financed their Hemet, CA facility.

  104. "Think of all the money Tom has paid Xenu to make him seem straight. He probably personally financed their Hemet, CA facility."

No, they originally built that as Elron's hideout during his last days as a Howard Hughes-style recluse.

What I don't get is why Tom (or Travolta, for that matter) would risk exposure by looking for lovers outside of COS. For all that COS is homophobic, there are lots of gay Scientologists and I'm sure they'd be happy to provide Tom with a harem of COS-bot boy toys if he asked.

Just to throw the guy a bone but have you ever thought since he tried to leave once he might be willing to let his daughter "go" because in the long run he actually wants what's best for her? Like said before until it happens to you, you just can't see things for what they really are. He realizes he can't "get out" but she still can.

  111. Have to say that this divorce has once again shone the spotlight on Scientology.

This Thursday, Rock Center will be doing a report on them. Also today, rollingstone.com put up on their site a story they did on Scientology last year.

Maybe Cruise/Miscavige thought that settling this quickly and quietly would deter people from looking under the covers. Guess not!

    ReplyDelete
  112. luckylass, re your comment: I remember years ago John Travolta saying that he picked what he liked from Catholicism and what he liked from Scientology and it was possible to be both. I'm not sure he would say that today, though.

    ReplyDelete
  113. The only way I can make the logic of a quick settlement work is if Tom truly feared the impact on his career of a custody trial, either because Katie had smoking-gun evidence of his gay affairs or else protracted publicity associating him with the horror stories of how COS traumatizes children during divorces. He must have been desperate to avoid court and Miscavige must have agreed not to fight rather than risk having Tom himself "blow" COS.

It's still, ultimately, a public kick in the nuts for COS, no matter how quickly and quietly Tom & Katie finalize the divorce. COS is a vast Ponzi scheme built on brainwashing its adherents and intimidating its opponents. It CANNOT afford to look vulnerable, and Katie has just proved to the world that COS can be beaten.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I don't believe Cruise and Holmes were ever legally married. They had some sort of ceremony in Italy, but I don't think it was a legal marriage. They were able to come to terms so quickly in the divorce because they were just amending the contract. They did not have to file anything in divorce court as they were never legally married. (Just My Opinion)

    ReplyDelete
  115. BN. Profane - I think it's the latter. The longer they dragged it out, more focus would be put on CO$.

Here's something else to think about. Considering this will be his third divorce and he's only just turned 50, maybe he should enjoy being single for a while, rather than trying to find another partner.

    ReplyDelete
  116. LoveLongJohns... your comment made me wonder... What if (as other posters have said), since he tried to leave CO$ before, what if he is trying to get Katie & Suri out safely, and then he can jump ship?

I could forgive him for a lot for that. I would, however, still hold Top Gun against him... :-)

    ReplyDelete
  117. "...maybe he should enjoy being single for a while, rather than trying to find another partner."

I'm betting he's done with sham marriages forever now. He's gotten all the hetero cred. out of them that he needs. His handlers will make sure that he's seen with a pretty woman on his arm now and then, but he'll live his private life as he pleases.

If he would just stop shilling for COS, I'd give him a pass. And he could. As long as he didn't denounce COS, he could quietly distance himself and they wouldn't dare to strong-arm him.

    ReplyDelete
  118. B. Profane I agree, Tom being gay is not the issue, it's using COS as a weapon that's the problem.

And I don't understand why Tom doesn't just shop within COS for companionship of either gender. That would seem better for him and Travolta. If they want to give all their money to Xenu, fine, but if the marriage is a sham and his children and ex-wives can be declared SPs, he's done nothing but cause harm to people.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  122. Mooshki, I'm concerned. If Tom talks to Suri, isn't he worried that the alien souls will attach themselves to him? When he visits Suri, does he have to be decontaminated like Silkwood afterwards?

car54 thanks for the heads up on the Rock Center show, I've just set the DVR.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Oh y'all. Y'ALL. I just saw this at the Daily Mail (I know, I know.)

But sweet lil Baby Jesus in the lap of his sainted Mother:

Tom Cruise is believed to 'have telekinetic and telepathic powers' according to Scientologists.

    From the article:

‘OTs can allegedly move inanimate objects with their minds, leave their bodies at will and telepathically communicate with, and control the behaviour of, both animals and human beings.’ (OTs are Operating Thetans which, according to Rolling Stone, Cruise is.)

Now, if this is true, and if some of those people really do believe this, then how will TomDave EVER explain Katie and Suri's escape?

    ReplyDelete
  124. Well actually that answers some questions for me, if Tom is able to visit Suri without ever actually visiting Suri, those dastardly alien souls won't be able to attach themselves to him. He can telepathically have conversations with Suri and not be contaminated.

Of course that's bad because he could also brainwash her remotely and send Xenu classwork telekinetically through her bedroom window, so Katie is going to have to keep an eye on that.

Now, as an Operating Thetan, if Tom's powers are sophisticated, how did he not know what Katie was doing? Can Miscaviage also read minds and move objects? If they have such powers, why are they robbing innocent people of all their cash? Surely there's a profit in their talents? Maybe double-secret spying for corporations, the secret recipe for Coca Cola or something?

  125. Katie Holmes returns to Catholic church

"Five years after revealing that she had started to study Scientology, Katie Holmes has officially returned to the Catholic faith, registering as a parishioner at the Church of St. Francis Xavier in New York City."

The church, located on 16th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, is known for inclusive thinking and its welcoming of many gay and lesbian Catholics. Its mission statement indicates that the Roman Catholic Church parish “strives to be a prophetic, welcoming community, inclusive witness to the presence of Christ Jesus in our midst.” Its website proclaims that it is a respectful community, “where seekers and their questions are welcomed, where injustice is challenged, where the poor, the alienated and marginalized find a home, and where people are refreshed, reconciled and renewed.”

  127. Well the "process" doesn't seem to work perfectly. I've seen several sites now that say Katie was using disposable cell phones so they wouldn't know what she was up to. If they were truly telepathic, surely they would have known.

  128. "Katie Holmes set the wheels in motion for her divorce from Tom Cruise using a throwaway cellphone provided by a friend to initially talk to her lawyers and avoid her husband knowing about the conversations, according to a source familiar with the divorce.

The move allowed her to prepare her legal case without Cruise and his staff knowing she was about to exit the marriage and left him shocked at the sudden divorce. By the time a deal was struck last weekend to end the marriage, she hired three law firms in three states."

  131. from reading all these stories this past week, my summary:
    - The day of the announcement, the legal team releases the information of the filing to the press. Mayhem. Some stories suggest Team CoS were aware of the impending divorce but were blindsided by the actual filing and announcement. Team CoS comes back with the threat that they will file in California, since they state that Katie did not reside in NY to legally file for divorce there. They claim CoS/Cruise will file for joint custody. Katie's greatest fear. Katie's legal team strikes back - leaks info to the press that an emergency custody and support hearing will be filed which would make the divorce proceedings public. CoS/Cruise are again blindsided by the retaliation. They realize that there is no way they will win this without CoS dirty laundry being released.
Since making the divorce announcement, there are almost daily stories being released to the press from “close sources” that offer some insight into Katie's life, almost all point the blame to CoS and Cruise's devotion to it. Strategy by legal Team Holmes.
    - Team CoS backtrack. Maybe they are afraid of what other info will be released. How far will she go? What will they release to the public? Maybe it would be easier to let her have what she wants. Ultimately, Cruise has to decide – is it worth it? He can either have CoS - or Suri. A decision is made. They contact Holmes legal team and offer to meet for a negotiation. Team Holmes, as an act of good faith, sends a statement out to the press that the information was 'false' regarding the emergency custody order/court date. CoS/Cruise is also dealt another blow when their request to file the divorce in California is denied. They realize that they have to decide whether to continue with a legal war, or give in to Team Holmes' terms. They agree to meet to publicly 'discuss a settlement' but privately have already decided to agree to most of Katie's requests. Team Holmes is victorious. On paper, Cruise appears to have joint custody or 'generous access' but because of CoS's strict SP code, he will not actually get any visitation.
    - There may be a few joint Cruise/Suri appearances in the future, to make it seem that way, but these will be well orchestrated events which have been included in the divorce settlement, not a true joint custody situation. I would say Katie has also received much more than what was on the initial pre-nup - maybe gratitude to her forensic accountant is needed.

As Suri gets older, she is looking more and more like Tommy Davis. Could this have been part of her amo???

    ReplyDelete

  134. Steppy, you are just pathetic...

One of the "three firms" was presumably her father's firm in Ohio. They then helped her to retain counsel in NY and CA. Veeeery smart.

Wow, registering as a parishoner (which she hardly needed to do) at a Catholic Church, right after they settled, is sending a MESSAGE big time. She also places herself firmly in the protective arms of the second-biggest, second-meanest faith on the planet. IIRC, in many countries where Catholicism is the state religion there are laws giving precedence to children being raised Catholic. In most of those countries, of course, Scientology is not recognized as a religion.

    ReplyDelete
  136. @B. Profane, what struck me about her immediately registering at a Catholic church is that even though she's forbidden to speak about the settlement terms, you can decipher by her actions what they are and what she's thinking.

There's little doubt in my mind that she got exactly what she wanted - freedom and distance for her and Suri from all things Co$. She literally dictated the terms of this divorce to Tom who basically functioned as her stenographer.
