According to TMZ, Bobby Brown finally realized he needed help and checked himself into rehab. This one has been a long time coming. His people say it is just for alcohol. That is what they all say. All I know is that when he and Whitney Houston were married there was a whole lot more than drinking going on. Of course, when you are married to Whitney you can afford to be hooked on a lot of different things that you can't always afford as a married Bobby Brown to someone else who does not work and then Bobby also has a ton of kids, all of whom seem to depend on New Edition royalties and casino shows to finance their support. Oh, except fort Bobbi. She is way richer than her dad. Yeah, maybe it is just booze. Although, crack is pretty cheap. I was trying to imagine Bobby Brown smoking bath salts and going zombie. Anyway, I do hope he gets better. I'm sure he was hoping for a season of Celebrity Rehab, but finally had to give up on that and go. You hear that Brigitte Nielsen?

ReplyDeleteThere really are alcoholics in the world, Enty. There are drinkers who also use drugs, and there are drinkers who use drugs in order to drink more. (The pub crowd in the UK comes to mind.) Bobby is probably an alcoholic. I remember seeing him down two or three drinks at a time on that reality show of theirs, just to steady his nerves.

Bobby doesn't have the best track record as far as being a stand-up guy is concerned, but conquering his demons would be major progress in allowing him to become a better guy. Good luck, fella. Stay strong.

ReplyDeleteI met Bobby Brown years ago when he was still married to Whitney. I don't want to go into where (for professional reasons) but I can state that he reeked so badly of pot I had to air out the room after he left. He was very polite and cooperative and while I was doing something else he amused himself by whistling what I think were birdcalls.
I always thought he got the short end of the stick with Whitney. And now that she has become St Whitney to many... he can't catch a break.

Delete@ Libby - I live in Portland Or and was a bartender for several years and I can tell you people definitely do coke to drink more or to " sober up ". My city pretty much revolves around alcohol and between the servers, bouncers, cooks and your local dealer I'd say there's enough cocaine in just about any bar at any given time to kill a few large animals. It's pretty gross :(
