Today's Blind Items - No Time To Hide The Past

What happens when you are an actress who goes from coming to Hollywood one week and then within two months gets a fairly big role on a new hit television show? You have your brand new agents and manager and everyone else in your life scouring the internet to try and erase all the information about your past life. Although you have a stage name, it is not that hard to find out your real name, but this actress who has got the biggest break imaginable in the shortest time imaginable has a past record that will make her very divisive very quickly. The fact she is vegan everyone is ok with. It is more of the things she said on the internet about her politics and the fact she is a lesbian who had a girlfriend until she moved to Hollywood. A long term girlfriend that she didn't tell anyone about including her agent or managers or the producers of the show. They are casting her as this sex symbol and have no issues with her being a lesbian, they just want to control how it is released and an interview with the spurned ex-girlfriend of several years on the front page of a tabloid is not what they envisioned and did not discover until after everything had all been signed. Changed her Twitter summary, but having trouble getting rid of the Google summary leading to it. The more inflammatory political comments she has made on websites have been removed. For the entire time the show has been in production until its launch a few weeks ago, the scramble has been on. For someone who seems like a brick wall when it comes to her beliefs, the money in a primetime television show has apparently changed her mind or at least bent it to the point where she is offering to date guys and is willing to do more love scenes with guys. She is fully on board to the make me a star and forget who I am and who I was reality.

  1. Here's all the new 2012 shows. Don't have time to research, though! That 666 Park chick looks like she might be "sexy".

  2. Is there really anyone who is into the Hollywood thing and celebrity culture who even remotely cares about people being lesbians, vegans, or having inflammatory political opinions???

I would think only the extreme right-wing types would care about any of her "issues", and I have to assume they aren't tuning in to your average prime time programming anyway. I could see it more if the girl were very Conservative, but I don't see anyone in the mainstream being bothered by any of the things mentioned.

Seems like a lot of wasted effort in this day and age.

  3. Really. Seems like the typical actress. Vegan, gay and liberal.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

  4. Maybe Tracy Spiridakos from Revolution? If that's her stage name it could explain why she had no bio on imdb.

    1. I Wiki(ed) her when I first saw the show and she comes from a Greek family. Just my opinion, Greeks cannot live without their feta cheese haha

    2. But she was raised in Canada.. No idea when she moved to LA.

  5. Emily Bett Rickards? She's on Arrow (which I've never seen, so i have no idea how large her role is), but it looks like it's her first real role.

  6. Her potentially divisive comments might be some kind of unkind words for religious anti-gay people, the kind of thing that many people would say if asked about the issue. But as a public person, you wouldn't want to disparage someone's religious beliefs generally, so it might be a reasonable effort to minimize her controversial views. But I agree with y'all that being a lesbian isn't a brick wall in the career any more. It might give her some « cathet », if you'll pardon my French.

  7. nevermind, arrow hasn't premiered yet.

  8. Well, I'd have a problem if she were so far right/left, she called for harm to be done to others for not agreeing with her stance. I'd love to know what is so damaging about what she wrote that her team would rush to scrub the interwebs.

  9. Anyone with any business savvy understands that there is a potential risk to upset advertisers...and advertising dollars are what matter. Kids today should learn personal brand management -- regardless of one's beliefs or values, the need for personal brand management starts well in advance of landing a job given how the world has contracted via social media etc.

  10. If I had time, I'd check out all their IMDB pages! Then I'd google them and see who has NO history (doesn't it say they changed their name?). That's where I'd start, if I had time.....

  11. I am on board with the chick from Revolution. It seems that show would appeal to the "prepper" crowd who would really actively dislike someone being a lefty, vegan lesbian.

  12. Tracy Spiridakos - revolution?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yvonne Strahovski
she said in an interview that she was casted in Chuck within her first week in LA.now she is on Dexter

  14. I'm not sure, @Lucas, about the Revolution chick. We watch the show and while she does appear to be a bit of a goody goody, I don't think scandal would harm her reputation. In fact, it may lead her to have more roles....

    ReplyDelete
  15. We're looking for someone without any real roles prior to what she's on now. The woman from Revolution doesn't fit that.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I doubt it's Tracy Spiridakos - the BI says that she was cast in this show within weeks of arriving in LA, but Tracy has been in several TV shows going back to 2007 (although one was The L Word. hmmm. haha.)

    ReplyDelete
  17. OK, I'm back peddling now. That chick from Revolution has NO imdb page to speak of, yet she's been in the industry since 2007!! THAT is an outrage! NO fan or others have created her imdb page? Highly unlikely, unless there is a 'reason'....now I'm on board with this guess!

  18. Not a biggie, who hasn't met at least 10 women who behaved like that in their early 20s.

    ReplyDelete
  19. This could be any number of actress's or actor's...they all reinvent themselves and delete the past..Blake is a good example, she became a new person for every man she dated so it's easy to believe some one would do it for a career and money.

    ReplyDelete
  20. What about the actress from "made in jersey"? She seemed relatively unknown before that show.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Don't think it's Tracy Spiridakos.. btw, Silly Girl: here is her IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2702898/

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Tracy Spiridakos doesn't fit. Looks like she has credits dating back to 2007 and the blind makes it sound like this person is a complete newcomer to Hollywood.

    ReplyDelete
  23. This is an issue, really? Seriously, I have no clue (as is true about so much of my life)

lol -- just trying to use the word 'really' - i'm still laughing over the jerry seinfeld post.

    Really.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah, Spiridakos doesn't seem like much of a stage name either. Hmm. Don't really care about this one, actually.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Why do I think this is Lucy Punch from Ben & Kate?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Emily Bett Rickards from Arrow?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I just went through the link Amber posted and googled EVERY starring female in every one of the new shows.. Every actress has had roles prior to their show.
I'm thinking it has to be an actress who was castes on an already exsistant show..
    I'm googling lol

  28. what about the blond girl from 2 Broke Girls? her name escapes me but i dont recall being recognizable before.

  29. Tracy Spirodakis worked a whole bunch in Canada, not in LA. I just read her entire Twitter (it's a slow day around here) and I'm backing off my guess. She is a total gamer and seems super nice. Oh, and totally not vegan. Apparently the chicken pita at Olympia Diner in Winnipeg is awesome and she is a native Winnipegger. My girlfriend is also from Winnipeg and therefore I am forbidden from badmouthing Canada or Canadians in any way.

  30. what about a new cast member, like Becca Tobin on Glee?

    ReplyDelete
  31. It's a NEW hit television show, so it can't be 666, unless the show has already premiered and is a hit after only 1 episode.

  32. The only actress with a stage name these days that I'm aware of is Olivia Wilde who took Oscar Wilde's name to avoid embarrassing her journalist parents Andrew and Leslie Cockburn. Plus I suspect there was some teasing growing up with the name Cockburn.

But she's not TV, so never mind.

  33. Casted is not a word..It's perfect as "cast". Same as bid..You cannot bidded on something. (Ran into that recently so I thought I'd throw it in.) Sorry, didn't mean to be the grammar police, just wanted to point it out.

    otherwise I got no clue.

    1. Oh okay! That's why my auto correct corrected it to castes. Thanks!

  34. Lucy Punch isn't new. She's been hilarious in various films & UK television shows for 15 years now. She was in Bad Teacher, Dinner For Schmucks, St Trinians and A Good Old Fashioned Orgy among many others. She has that perfect combination of being funny & looking a little funny.

  35. Georgia King from The New Normal. Scottish actress and all her credits are in the UK. She is the daughter of actor Jonathan Hyde and opera singer Isobel Buchanan, so "King" might be a stage name.

  36. Adding that it doesn't say the actress is new to acting, but that she was new to Hollywood. That's why I searched out foreign actresses.

  37. What about Lena Dunham? She's been in small things but her breakout role is obviously girls, a new cable show... It got alot of attention and she's been shot into superstardom.

  38. Great! Just what this world needs. Another freakin' strict vegan to make the rest of us have to bend over backwards to accommodate them..... I have much more respect for people who break the rules once and awhile.

Ahhh too bad it's a new show and there are political comments involved because this fits half a dozen people. The first one that came to mind as I was reading this blind was Lea Michele

  40. Tracy Spiridakos is a stage name? That's pretty bad!

    ReplyDelete
  41. agree with sugapimp's guess.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I agree with all the reasons stated why this is not Tracy Spirodakis, but I'd just note that I looked at her wiki page and the edit history.

It was created August 28 2012 by some guy with a dead link.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think it's Lena Dunham - so I agree with that guess. I don't know who she is, but she's all over the place on the internets all of a sudden. I remember reading something very controversial that she said a few weeks ago - someone dug it up. That's all I got.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Not sure Lena Dunham fits as she wrote and directed a film before girls and was also in it. Plus her real name is Dunham.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I like your guess@ iknowpeople.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Bree Olsen/Rachel Oberlin. People here in Fort Wayne know who she really is

    ReplyDelete
  47. The blind doesn't say that she got the LEAD role, it just states a fairly big role. So who are big supporting cast members of new hit shows?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Not Georgia King. Though when the BI first started, I thought it could be, until the girlfriend part. Georgia was dating Bradley James, a British actor. She was fairly accessible on twitter at one time (she's since deleted - long story) and I followed her and it's not her.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hillary Marren? She's on Mob Doctor and this is pretty much her only credit besides a short.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Its a stage name.......why would someone give themselves a stage name like Spiridakos? It doesn't make any sense.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The reason this is a problem/BI is it would make her a coward hypocrite, not because she used to be gay or post inflammatory things. A turncoat is never well-received.

Unless she was young and stupid; people forgive stuff you do when you're under 18; think you "grew out of it" or whatever. So for it to be incendiary, I think the actress would have to be someone older.

Plus, this actress has had a 2-yr live-in relationship with a woman, time passed since then... she's got to be older than 22 or 23, imo.

Tracy S could fit age-wise, but Revolution films in North Carolina. More Dawson's Creek than Hollywood.

  53. We've been watching Mob Doctor, but I don't recognize Hillary Marren. It says she's been in every episode so far, but she doesn't look familiar at all. Aside from that, she could be a good guess!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I grew up with Tracy and I can assure you this is not her. I also grew up with her long term ex bf, and I have never heard about her being a vegetarian, which I doubt given her parents' restaurant. Also, she did all that TV work in Vancouver, not LA (the only part that fits).
She is hugely lying about her age, though.
First IMDB said 1996 which would make her 11 when she was a nurse, then it dropped down to 1994 (equally laughable), now it says 1987/1988, which I would guess is off by about 5 years.
