Tom Ford Announces Birth Of Baby Boy

Tom Ford has kept to his promise of not using his baby as a press tool, and he was also correct that no one found out about his baby until after the baby was born. Two weeks ago, Tom Ford and his long time partner had a baby boy via surrogate. Tom, being the proper person he is sent out baby announcements to a select few. One of those few leaked their announcement and the world now knows. I'm guessing this is probably Tom's biological child which means of course that it will be insanely perfect looking, never age and will produce impeccable clothing at astronomical prices. Tom's partner is in his mid 60's and a survivor of throat cancer who has never wanted children, so I'm wondering how Tom finally convinced him. Free cologne samples?

  1. Whoa, his partner is in his mid 60's? He looks much younger. Congrats to them, but that child is going to be pretty young when they pass.

  2. You have the rare celebrity who promises not to use their baby as a press tool, and wow, one of the fucktards they call friend/family leaks the news to the press. God, people can blow.

  3. Even more shocking to me is that he had throat cancer in 1989, he and Tom started dating in 1986. That is such a beautiful story. They have been together through truly sickness and health. That is really sweet.

    Congrats on the baby!!

  12. I agree with SusanB - how refreshing for a celebrity couple to give their child a beautiful, normal name! Congrats to Tom and Richard.

  13. If one partner doesn't want a child and the other partner is insanely busy... who takes care of the kid? (Not that I even dreamed that Tom Ford would be up for 2am feedings.)

  14. I can't believe how stupid I was for kinda thinking Tom Ford was straight. He is drop dead sexy.

  16. Huh, I think Tom looks like a huuuuge egomaniac....he loves himself more than partner and child....sorry imo

  17. Ahh, a mini Tom Ford! Adorable.

  18. I used to think Tom was straight too! I'm kind of tired of his look though. He needs to change it up a bit. I'm sure the kid will be well taken care of in every way.

  19. Gabi, I remember a video of Tom Ford speaking of himself in the third person over and over. He is very much an egomaniac. I dislike his style, personally -- I'm much more Courtney Love, Stevie Nicks and wild, wild child insanity (Miley and Mary-Kate and whatever the strippers are having, that's my line). Tom Ford seems to "design" a lot of things that look just like the black shirts and slacks people have been selling for a 100 years. I'm sure he's a nice person! But ... I probably wouldn't enjoy talking with him.

  21. Erm, I am so out of it. I said Tom's partner looked young, but I was looking at Tom. My bad. TOM looks younger I meant.
    And yes, @kj you're right!

  23. Being in a good mood, I'll say that this is good.
Because as a woman who never wanted kids from a ridiculously large family, I really don't care.
I do like to see people get what they want and be happy; that's normal.
I get a little irked seeing people criticize anyone for using their children as PR tools when in real life as a non mother, TO ME...EVERYONE uses their children as PR tools.
I really no longer read comment sections because although I might like the responses, I've grown weary of people who jump on every chance to complain about famous people they don't like based on how often they appear with their kids in photos.
My neighbors let their kids run all over the neighborhood...it's all the same to me. They want the world to know they procreated; I tell the kids to get off my lawn and I am not joking.
The little scamps DO stay off my lawn and like me because I lay down the law.
At 54, I can tell you of dozens of times people flashed pics of their kids under my nose...and these people were co workers...not friends.
Apparently, kids ARE a perfect PR tool whether it's intentional or not.
Anyway, that's it for me for commenting for the next ten years online.
Congrats to everyone who can have a kid they want. Also, Tom Ford is cool.

  24. A] Thank heavens this child has a normal name.

B] I suspect he will be perfectly monitored and parented and loved by qualified people.

C] Tom and Richard appear to deserve commendations for sustaining a long term relationship in the face of serious problems.

D] Suri will probably be out-dressed by this child. And maybe that will be a good thing.

E] Sorry i can't give you a link to the following, but i never see Tom Ford w/o thinking of this statement: He said he NEVER wears underwear because he doesn't want that 1/16" to 1/18" thickening caused by underwear to distort the perfect lines of his clothes on his perfect body [and i kind of wish i had his control when it comes to food/body issues; but i don't]. Um, hmmmm, what an incredible ego and control.

But what i really keep coming back to is 'Laundry bills, dry cleaning bills out the kazoo, and how many duplicates must you buy if you want to wear something frequently?.' But i guess someone at that level never wants to wear the same thing twice because there are so many things out there.

  25. OK, please disregard the snark in my previous post. Just watched 'OWN's Visionaries: Tom Ford'. He is an absolute genius who takes the time to [quite articulately] explain himself and his beliefs. He even says towards the end of the documentary that he knows he'll be irrelevant one day.

Karl, Val, John G.,...Can you even come close to this candid video?
