Blind Item #1

This real housewife recently went on vacation. She wants the world to think the family has plenty of money and that the luxury vacation proves it. Reality is that the vacation was paid for by a company in exchange for photos to be sold and the family is more broke than they have ever been and if not for the show would probably be living at the in-laws house.

  1. Long-time reader, first time poster! I thought Bethenny the whole time- does she still count as a real housewife?

  2. Dumb and Dumber - the Gorgas. I am embarrassed that I know this.

  3. Gorgos, her bikini vacation pics were all over the internet yesterday.
I have reached an all time low in knowing this.

  4. All of them? I don't watch any of the housewives but all I ever hear is how broke they all really are!

  5. Y'all crack me up with your shame knowledge. I can relate. Is there a 12-step program for that?

  6. My name is Frufra, and I'm a celebrity gossip whore. It's been 12 minutes since my last TMZ fix.

  7. Dear Frufra, I can relate, in the morning I try and go on CNN or MSNBC first before I head here on any of my other gossip sites. I try and justify my addiction with important world news first. Try it, it makes you feel better.

  8. So far my addiction is limited to RHOBC. And this column.

  9. I, too, am a celeb gossip whore! *hangs head in shame* I haven't watched tv for years and not a clue who this is, but I love to read the snark. lol

    1. @Reeses - I couldn't distinguish a Real Housewife from a Batchelorette from a Survivor contestant, and I use my TV strictly for baseball and dvr'ed stuff, but the snark is awesomely fun :-).

Rich Housewives? How have we as a nation come down to watching housewives? Rich housewives, but still. They are the most vacuous, vain, self absorbed, plastic, bitchy, obnoxious people on the planet, these women. They're a scourge and they need to be wiped off the face of the tv screen. They're horrid human beings. They should all devote the next year of their lives to charity and maybe joining the peace corp, learn about the real world. Where people stop being polite, and start getting real. It's the real world!(Sorry)

  11. @Rafi & @frufra, I do THE SAME THING (mix in the real news). Oh, the shame... but I know that I'd never spend this much time here if it weren't for the community.

  12. @Em - yes, you come for the gossip and stay for all the wonderful peeps you meet on the comment threads <3. And I, too, mix in real news, but find myself clicking on the Entertainment tab on CNN awfully quickly - real news is so depressing!

  13. @carmelitelady, i agree. some of these people need to spend time in a poor country doing charity work... or even in their own communities! and be taken away from their egotistical, pampered lives for a few days.

  14. I love trashy reality shows. I, too, watch MSNBC in the morning, but then it's all downhill from there!

Anyway, I guess the Gorgas for this blind.

  15. People watch MSNBC? Ugh.

  16. If somebody can link this :
Camille Paglia talks about the impact "Real Housewives" has on feminism .

  18. I watch Morning Joe on MSNBC religiously! I highly recommend it for intelligent discussions on politics and worldly events that are mostly balanced.

I then spend my remaining hours periodically checking in here on the fun stuff.

  19. If men can have fantasy league everything, I can have a DVR full of brain-rotting, catty high school behavior. I love every minute, every housewives franchise and all the gossip I can get. And when I'm not doing that, I'm a totally normal person and mother. It's my total escape. I'm none the better for it but I fucking love it.

I'll try to balance that out with real people news.

  20. Bethenny's money is real: she just wrote a massive check for Hurricane Sandy relief. Also - if you don't think she has $$, you don't know the price of Manhattan real estate, and haven't seen shots of her massive MASSIVE NYC home. Some might not like her personality, but she has worked her ass off for everything she has, and that is worthy of respect! She's the first to admit she used the RHW franchise to further her businesses...that's just smart.
    I second the Gorga guess...

  21. *** celeb gossip sites, my only drug of choice.

  22. p.s. I concur w/ the Gorga's.....but even worse, BUT, living with the "in-laws" if on Joe's side would mean they'd be living on top of Theresa's garage!!!

*** terrible that I know this

  23. It's not the gorga's, Joe was never broke in fact he was making mad money before he met melissa. I would more likely believe Teresa - her legal bills are mounting and the books don't pay that much.

    1. Thank you Melissa's sister of which I am happy I do not know your name.

  24. RHOBC? British Columbia? Does Canada have a show now?

I don't think all the Housewives are bad. I adore Lisa from BH. And Brandi (same franchise) is another favorite. I think a lot of people who excoriate the show(s) have never even watched one.

  25. Unknown, Stoopid Housewives says that Joe's business made $65,000 in 2011, and they owe $52,000 in taxes. Both of their houses are for sale. Almost all of these people lie about their finances.
